A very safe and beautiful city with amazing forrest and not crowded beach. You can walk day and night without fear. Its possible to see tiny monkeys, hummingbirds, crabs and more. Quadrado and centro are both well worth a visit. Many restaurants at the quadrado, some overpriced, but in the back inside amazing views over the jungle. Trancoso is still a nice historic place worth a visit.
Trancoso is still a nice historic place worth a visit. Yet be aware: places like Praia de Espelho and some other beaches are packed during weekends and even during the week in the holidays crowded. So while being a charming village still, it is fully discovered, overpriced and hard to spontaneously find a table in any restaurant, since it is generally full. Do not expect and picturesque empty village but be prepared for crowds.

Trancoso is pure magic.
Trancoso is pure magic. There wasn't one thing we didn't like about this beautiful place and hope to be back very soon. Our favorite spots were Capim Santo for dinner and the UXUA beach bungalows. Trancoso is a hidden gem, a small town with the most beautiful beaches, it has a lot of character with beautiful buildings around the quadrado, walking is the easiest way to get around, but the street s and roads are narrow and there are lots of hills so it will certainly help you to be fit! There's a big selection of restaurants and cafes around the quadrado, some are quite expensive and not necessarily better than the cheaper places, don't judge a restaurant on how full it is as the nicest restaurant we ate at there, the UXUA Pousada was very quiet, there are also many beach bars from expensive to affordable, it all depends what appeals to you

They keep there property very clean, including the rooms which are cleaned everyday. Location wise it is good with a quite surrounding and only a few minutes walk towards the town area (and ten minutes to the beach). Also, you are allowed to use all the facilities that they have and keep your needs in mind. Would return to this place without a doubt the next time we visit Trancoso!RhodéeNetherlands

My daughter and I had the chance to visit other local pousadas. Le Refuge is, by far, the best in town. Marc, the owner, is originally from Corsica, France. He brought the French charm and the warm atmosphere that represents his home country. The place is impeccable: clean, beautiful, delicious breakfast and peaceful. We will definitely be back.

Ananda, the owner is the heart of the place - thanks to her recommendations we discovered exceptional places in the city and Trancoso became the highlight of our holiday in Brazil. We hope that we will have the chance to visit Trancoso again in the future and no doubt that we will choose Pousada do Bosque again.
