The location of this property is excellent, just by a stunning lake, where we swam and fished every day, and a decent drive from some of the nicest scenery in Norway. There are seats throughout the extensive back garden where you can enjoy the view and a barbecue is provided. The house is pretty basic but has all you need. The owner and his helper, Ahmed and Kerri, are incredibly nice and helpful and given they live in the house will come down within minutes to fix any problems.

GEM OF A PLACE HIGHLY RECOMMEND Food was out of this world local produce, beautifully presented and so tasty. Lovely selection of beers and wine. Views of fjord from inside (lots of windows) and outside terrace that sits on the water/fjord that wraps around building. A unique and personal hotel with lots of character and gorgeous decor. Rooms individually decorated and very cosy and comfortable. Staff unbelievably friendly. We did the floating sauna and swim 2 mins down the road and the glacier museum.

The cabin is huge - practically a holiday house with 3 bedrooms, a big kitchen, living room and eating area. fully equipped kitchen (although missing a cutting board) with a dishwasher, as well as an outside grill that the owners can help supply wood for it. The area itself is incredible - driving nearby a turquoise lake on the way, while surrounded by a beautiful fjord and glaciers, with 2 glacier tongues visible well from the cabin, and one of them reachable through a 45 min hike to a nearby hill (recommended by the owner). The owners also have a small restaurant to serves dinner - although we didn't eat there, the menu looked very good and the prices were more than affordable.

These self-catering cottages are located along the Jølstra River in the village of Vassenden in Sogn og Fjordane County. Each offers free WiFi and a kitchenette. Central Førde is 18 km away.
