Loved Courmayeur, the place, the people, the food.
Loved Courmayeur, the place, the people, the food. Such a pretty centre and lovely restaurants up the mountain. A fairly small ski area, so 4 days of skiing was enough here. Will definitely come back here for a weekend, but not for a week.

Skiing: high so plenty of snow, in good condition.
Skiing: high so plenty of snow, in good condition. Mosy of the lifts were reasonably quick. Very little queuing when we were there. Lots of potential for off piste. Most of the blue runs were linking paths rather than enjoyable pistes. Nice reds and blacks. Relatively small area, but if you have a car La Thuile is nearby.
Weather wasn't great so didn't go up the Skyway.

I have visited Courmeyour 2 or 3 times over the years.
I have visited Courmeyour 2 or 3 times over the years. It has definitely gone 'up market' with a lot of boutique shops and bars appearing since I was last here, However, if you are looking for reasonably priced pizza/pasta/burgers etc there are plenty of restaurants that deliver. I went low season and the town was quite quiet. One of two bars that had a bit of life but not a 'party' town.
After skiing in Austria for the last 10 years or so, I found things like the beer, ski hire and ski pass quite expensive. Its definitely cheaper than the other side of the valley in Chamonix though.

Unfortunately, everything was expensive: restaurants, shops & food. There is only one tiny supermarket which is almost impossible to find. It seats in a hidden place. No proper signage to find it.

Courmayeur is a pretty Italian town located underneath the Mont Blanc massif with a charming centre only slightly spoilt by the presence of the Aosta valley motorway which runs through the Mont Blanc tunnel. There are several restaurants in the town centre and good shopping. Apart from skiing there are many mountain walks in the area as well as the unmissable Skyway Monte Bianco.
Such a great hotel! It exceeded our expectations and was so much better than the photos. Brilliant location, short walk to the Via Roma. Chauffeur service to the Dolonne chairlift in mornings and after skiing. Plentiful, delicious breakfast with lots of variety. Comfortable living room with a roaring fire and a great little bar. They make a mean negroni! Great size bedroom, and all super clean. The best part is the kind and friendly owners who really make your stay such a pleasure. We will definitely return!
Hotel staff were brilliant. Very friendly, nothing was too much trouble. Sorted our room with a balcony, shuttled us to and from the ski lift, always there ready waiting for us by the time we got down the mountain and we never had to wait to be taken to the slopes. The staff booked our restaurants for us which was greatly appreciated. Also having the sauna as sole use for a room was great as this meant we had a private sauna each night after skiing! This was a great ski hotel and we will definitely go back.
My wife and I had a wonderful holiday in this clean, cozy, small, pleasant family hotel! We really liked everything! The hotel owners are very attentive, friendly, pleasant to talk to and incredibly sweet! The breakfasts are delicious and filling, and the dinners are very varied and very tasty! 5 minutes walk to the ski lift. You can rent a locker at the first station and leave your skis, boots and staff at the top, and walk down to the hotel. The best recommendations!
This hotel is a gem in the mountains, everything is just perfect. The service, the beds, the brand new beautiful wellness area, the outstanding breakfast with high quality local ingredients and, last but not least, the owners who run the property and are the most amazing hosts I have met in a long time. Congratulations.
Fantastic 2* hotel. Traditional building with lots of original natural materials i.e. wood & stone. Best receptionist, Manlio, always happy to help. Beautiful views. Squeaky clean. Ample wardrobe, shelf & hanging space. Plenty hot water. Good central position easy 8 min walk to cable car with skis & boots.
The staff was super friendly, they were so caring. We wanted to leave the hotel early at 5:30am to start the tour du mont blanc and they prepared us a small breakfast and it was already ready at 5:00 (the attaches photo)…. The breakfast in general was really good too!
We booked last minute doing the Tour Du Mont Blanc as wild camping is not permitted in Italy. Great value for a last minute booking and great service from the staff. I would highly recommend this hotel. It is very close to the city centre for some food and drinks too.
Great family run hotel in the heart of town. Great service, from the time of our very late check-in and arranging restaurants and taxis. Perfect for a long weekend skiing - the main Courmayer lift is 3 or 4 minutes walk away. Would definitely go back.
