The relaxing garden really is an oasis with confortable garden furniture, lots of plants and shady trees and quiet.
The owner, Sylvie Decorde and the manager Fabien are welcoming and very, very helpful. Mdm Decorde gives much attention to detail. The well stocked breakfast buffet table is very carefully laid out and looks most attractive.
Excellent, safe bike parking.

Nevers feels like a genuinely small French city along the Loire river, with some history (the Burgundy Dukes had their family residence here), a very old central city area (it was a walled city, dates from the Middle Ages) and some lovely surprises like Cafe Velo, a delicious creperie and a first class aquatic center. Well worth the 2-hour train ride from Paris -- and probably beautiful in spring/summer!

Nevers is a large town with an historic centre.
Nevers is a large town with an historic centre. It is a busy hub for trains. There are some excellent walks along the river from the town centre. As large commercial hub there are a number of large hyper markets and all the typical shops associated with them , and also a very large new shopping centre at Marty a satellite town nearby.

Your tourist office is doing a great job.
Your tourist office is doing a great job. I wrote a few months back and they mailed me Nevers information to our home in the USA. the brochure / map that they supplied is one of the best in all of France. Clearly tells you what the site is all about and clearly shows you were it is.

This is a charming town with an ancient cathedral and surrounding buildings in the old town with narrow lanes and formal gardens running down to the Loire. Beautiful big houses surround the town centre. The people are relaxed and friendly and there are several street cafes/restaurants to eat at. The town is much bigger so there are supermarkets and other shops and facilities too. Great place to stopover on a journey.

Beautiful old town with many historic buildings - but a bit sleepy in August with some restaurants and businesses closed. Good for wandering round and eating in pavement cafes. Fabulous patisserie, displayed like jewellery!

Perfect as a stop on the way over or back from somewhere.
Perfect as a stop on the way over or back from somewhere. Little city that used to obviously be popular for their faience but which has fallen into hard times. Loads of empty or abandonned shops and café/restaurants. Makes it all look very grim. Life has remained on one side of town only. However we tried both an Airbnb on the way down and one night in a Booking.com hotel on the way back (Inter hotel by the train station, very good) as Never was just in the middle of our 11 hour ride. Managed to eat decently at La Simplicité (lovely food and service) and then à l'Agricole (just ok, only opened on a Sunday in August) sleep well. It was convenient. Just don't come here expecting much and all will be fine.
Extremely friendly owners, a British couple who have lived in France for decades. My charging cable failed, and the owner insisted on taking me to a store because my leg was injured. The room and bath were both very nice. I'd definitely like to return here if I have the good fortune to revisit Nevers.
All in all a very good choice.
Small hotel very central in Nevers close to Espace Bernadette and other city sights. From the train station is 10 to 15 minutes walk. Close to the hotel you will find some places to eat. The hotel calls itself eco and sustainable due to their practices. The room was nice with view to the square and quiet at night. Wifi was good
Excellent hosts. We stayed two nights and received a fresh set of towels after the first night. Air conditioned room, comfortable bed, wonderful breakfast, secure storage for our bicycles. 15 to 20 min walk to the center of Nevers. Very pleasant conversations with our hosts even though our French is relatively poor.
The bed was very comfortable, I like the color combination of the bathroom, helpful staff and attentive to our needs. It was all went well, with refrigerator in the room, a nice view from the river. Clean and spacious room with elevator. I love the atmosphere of that hotel.
We booked for one day and ended up staying 2 additional days. The owner is very accommodating. We left our bags and bicycle overnight with the hotel to go to Paris and they were very accommodating. When we got back from Paris, all our bags were in our new room.
Perfect location just across the road from the railway station, a short walk to the historic town centre and Loire river. Clean, comfortable room, very quiet with good sound-proofing window. Very friendly helpful staff. Good basic hotel, excellent value for money.
A typical 2 star hotel with a small room and limited facilities but inexpensive. Reception staff very friendly and helpful and no noise in the room despite there being quite a number of guests. Breakfast served in well decorated reception area was good.
The dinner was exceptional! The bedroom was extremely spacious with a really comfortable bed.
Beautiful grounds and extremely quiet but only 10 minutes from central Nevers by car. Very, very relaxing. Incredible value for money.
Chambres des Loges is in a quiet, calm area and yet the centre of Nevers is accessible in 15 minutes on foot. Mathieu is an excellent host: welcoming, attentive, and yet respectful of the guest's privacy. Good value. Recommended.
Beautiful property, very well located on the river. Breakfast was probably the best of my whole trip (cycling through france staying at 10 different places). The host is kind and knowledgable.
We booked as on cycle route. Store room for bikes. Good view of Loire and bridge from hotel room. Very comfortable bed, good bathroom. Breakfast was excellent with many choices.
Large, quiet premises in the middle of Nevers. Beautiful garden. Spacious, high room. Although it was very hot (30+) the room was cool, Good bed, friendly staff.
