I loved Hastings, the shopping, cafes, bars and restaurants were great. Lots of funky, quirky places as well as speciality shops. Lovely french bakery! Close to all the vineyards and the beach settlements. I could have spent much longer there.

We only visited the Supermarket as we had a Marie function just out of Hastings. We were there most of the weekend. It was beginning to rain when we all left and rained all the way to Gisborne. Hastings looks very tidy and upmarket. I hadn’t visited Hastings for many years. It was great.

This was a visit for a whānau gathering, so my itinerary was pretty much planned before I arrived. I know Hastings well and there are many great things to keep you busy and entertained if you choose to holiday here.
If you are coming to Hastings then a stay at Portmans is a great choice. Nice facilities, great location, really cool owners and staff. You can't go wrong!

This is a lovely friendly town and region.
This is a lovely friendly town and region. I’ve traveled here yearly with work and holiday for several decades. Even a week or so after the Feb 2023 cyclone slammed this town it was back up and running for visitors. Even with a lot of bridges closed, traffic still flowed ok with only minor delays during rush hours.

I was in Hastings to participate in an early morning fundraising activity so I was focused on accommodation, food, ease of getting to the fundraising site and buying seasonal fruit.
Got seasonal fruit on Sunday as they would not be open on the stat holiday on Monday.
Accommodation is good - cheap, well maintained, central location
Food - Could not find a restaurant so got take aways
Asked at large supermarket in Hastings for location of Flaxmere Park - staff discussion between 5 people resulted in none of them having heard of it.
We were arriving on Xmas day and we were very grateful and appreciative that we were able at time of booking, to arrange early check in and pick up of key, as we were travelling through Hastings to spend Xmas Day with family in Poukawa Valley and it made sense to pick up keys early and not have to travel back in to Hastings & out again just to do check in. Well appointed rooms, friendly staff.
We were made to feel very welcome on arrival and during our 3-day stay. The rooms were spotless, well appointed and had everything we needed... a good size, cleaned daily, bed was extremely comfortable and the shower was awesome! This was our first experience here and will be our fist choice next time we're in Hastings. We couldn't have asked for anything more.
Welcoming and client oriented hosts; access to fresh-picked berries from the farm. We were unfortunate to stay there during the night when Hastings was hit by the Cyclon Gabriela, so we were left without the electricity and partially also the water. Thought phone coverage was ok and data were accesable despite that internet was off.
The house was incredible and spacious for my family of 5 (2 adults, 2 teens and a 9 year old). Would recommend to all visiting Sunny Hastings for the short or long stays. Close to amenities and most food outlets. With splash planet just around the corner it'll be an easy decision to make a booking at this fabulous 10/10 home.
While the room is less spacious than a hotel room (it is a bedroom in someone's home) the owners have managed to get all that is needed for a comfortable stay into the room without feeling squashed in. Breakfast was good with lots of fresh fruit. The room is quiet and very well located for our needs. Thank you
Hosts were very nice and friendly. Room and bed were very good, clean/tidy - hotel quality presentation. Love the add on/welcome water bottle/snack. Property adheres to covid regulations. Very nice and fancy breakfast treat.
All in all, it was a great experience/stay in David and Lynare’s accommodation.
Very comfortable bed and the unit was very clean. Yes they are a little older but you get what you pay for and the fact that we could take our dog made us very happy. The location is very close to the Hastings CBD so this also made it easy to go and get dinner.
perfect location for what my partner and I needed for our stay in Hastings. Great bed, room well presented amenities all supplied dishes for meals washed daily by host. Ideal
Friendly, helpful hosts. The whare (bedroom) itself was well heated and comfortable. The location - rural but very close easy access to Hastings and Havelock
