Clean and friendly! Durango and the surrounding area has a long, complex history and the museums are a great way to learn about it. Beautiful churches and open plazas . We felt safe and secure, especially in the central zone well into the evening.

Got here just before Easter.
Got here just before Easter. Had a nice procession through town for that a couple of days. Live on stage music just about every night. Multiple bands some nights. Quite eclectic. Traditional of different types, rock, operatic. Even street rappers. Felt safe all the time. Spent a lot of time just walking around. So many cool old churches in small area.

Durango is great city, and it has grown a lot in the last...
Durango is great city, and it has grown a lot in the last few years. There is more tourism, shopping, pedestrian walk ways filled with shopping, bars and restaurants. Staying downtown in the center of it all is amazing and super convenient whether you go to be a tourist or visit family. Food is delicious, and prices are great! Not to mention it has great weather! Lots of culture to explore - art, music, and lot of history.
Best places to eat - Casablanca Restaurant in their hotel, Gorditas Gambino, and Pollo Napoles. Walking around the plaza was very easy and convenient. However, if you have trouble walking or need wheelchair accessible places, that would be a challenge. Taxis and buses are plenty, and there are many tour buses you can hop on from the plaza itself. Doing the Villas del Oeste was really fun, cheap, and not too far. Wish I had time to do the Cable Car ride and the Durango Historical Double Decker tour. NEXT TIME!
Got a chance to go to a night club - Las Mil y Una Noches! Soooo fun!!! It was an 80's themed club with a live band playing all of the 80's hits from Latin Pop charts. Band was amazing!
If you like shopping, El Mercado is a great place for everything locally made. Lots of shops on the Constitucion street, along the Cathedral has lots of shops as well. I heard the museums are good too, but ran out of time. Durango is a magical city that takes your breath away and takes you back in time to a place that is filled with lots of awesome stories.

I recommend this hotel highly.
I recommend this hotel highly. The rooms are large enough, the staff is always helpful and pleasant to deal with, they make us feel at home and never say no to any need we have. The location is accessible to the highest and to downtown Durango.

Stayed in the centro area.
Stayed in the centro area. People here are not as friendly as other places I've traveled to in Mexico. Some of the drivers are very aggressive be it you are a pedestrian or fellow driver. The air quality is pretty good here surprisingly.
Would never come here again for any reason.

Actually folks - buy an old Colonial House NOW and refurbish it while they're still relatively cheap!
I think Durango will become the next town most adored like San Miguel de Allende. Hey even SMA doesn't have a spectacular highway leading up to it like the "Impossible to Build, Impossible to Maintain" Toll Road over the Devil's Spine of the Sierras. I mean 61 tunnels in 50 miles? 9th Wonder of the World in my opinion.
Completely different from most of Mexico even the people due to it's history and being tucked down away - hard to get to - before the new Toll Road. Even the colorful Indigenous people are different than 200 miles away. Durango - in a Class of it's own!
Does need to add a "Tango Community" with Milangas - then you could attract a whole lot more Expats from USA to retire here. Only downside I can see to Durango - so listen up, make that change!
Fourth time to Durango and finally put my finger on why it's so nice - even in the Summertime. It's at 6100 ft. Elevation which make it 10 degrees F cooler than the Coast - and then add in 10-15% average humidity it makes it "seem" 15 degrees F cooler.
Although it's simple, it is comfortable enough, the staff was helpful, and the breakfast good. Good value for the price. We were there to see the total solar eclipse, and I was impressed at how Durango organized to deal efficiently with the large influx of eclipse viewers. There weren't any traffic problems and they had set up a system of reliable taxis. We had a good experience. Just wish we would have had more time to explore the mountains.
Centrally located. Best bang for your buck. No frills, yet very clean, convenient, comfortable, and practical. One minute walk to Constitucion Corridor. 3 minute walk to Plaza de Armas Victoria de Durango City Center. Shopping, diners, coffee shops, entertainment, and bars are conveniently located within walking distance. The breakfast buffet is excellent and is available daily.
The breakfast staff was responsive to our questions. The food was excellant.
This hotel has been our "must stay at" in our travels. This was our 5th stay at Mission.
We love Mission! We look forward to finding out what Mission can shine once the pandemic guidelines are removed.
We found this hotel to be a delight. A lot of attention to details which adds to the comfort of the client. After a long day of driving, to be able to eat really good food "in house" made us very happy. And no corners were cut on the complimentary breakfast. Very good.
This place exceeded my expatations it was so AMAZING. The staff is so friendly and helpful, the rooms were very clean. The bed are so confortable, the property is simply breath taking. I will be staying here very time I am in Durango going foreword.
When you think of staying in Durango, you have to stay at the Gobernador, it is tradition, the location is beautifull and the historic center is within walking distance, facilities are nice, not the best, but nice. Overall a good experience
Hot water from the shower just comes right out, which was very nice
They lent us a couple of rackets and balls to play tennis and the hot tub was ok and working
The restaurant, even though is outside the hotel, is very nice and tasty
We booked the hotel, but after seeing and mainly smelling the room, we decided not to stay. As the staff was friendly we decided to leave the payment. The room was also in a very dark corner, but the smell was horrible.
I stayed here mainly because it’s pet friendly and they’re really are, I took my dog and my cat. The hotel is lovely and the architecture is interesting. The rooms are clean and they have enough space to be comfortable.
Durango is a beautiful city! The property has an on site restaurant and parking perfect for a one night stay. There is also a guard walking the area so one feels safe. The manager is welcoming and attentive.
I’m used to hostels and since Durango doesn’t have any this was the cheapest option, with a seasonal discount. Great value for money and location, great staff, quite comfortable at least for me 🙂
It's incredible that a place like this hotel has such a nice price, to us it was 5 stars and the restaurant they have has been the best place we have been eaten in the last 3 weeks in Mexico
Staff was more than accommodating and the location was great. Everything we needed was right outside of the hotel and there was an abundance of taxis in case we needed to get around.
