Facing the Tagus River and built on seven hills, charming Lisbon is one of the oldest cities in the world. It offers unique tram rides, intimate Fado performances, great dining venues and much more.
The city is famous for its districts: the Belém's famous monuments; the Alfama's labyrinthine streets, bars and small shops; and the trendy Alcântara's docks. Lisbon’s most popular nightlife and shopping venues are located in Bairro Alto, while the traditional heart of the city beats rhythmically in the Baixa.
Enjoy a walk in the greenery of Jardim Botânico, admire the architecture of the Jerónimos Monastery or explore Feira da Ladra flea market. The Chiado area serves the city's best traditional Portuguese food. No meal is complete without some famous pastéis de nata!
Getting to the city centre is only a metro or bus ride from Lisbon Portela Airport. Whether you want a luxury hotel, a friendly guesthouse or a cosy apartment, Booking.com has plenty of accommodations for your holiday in Lisbon.
I spent about 5 days in Lisbon and 3 in Porto. I enjoyed getting to learn about Portugal in general - arts, culture, history and the food. Be prepared for the hills.. I am a fitness instructor full time and still felt like the hills were kind of crazy. I learned how to get around anyway!

we visited Lisbon for the weekend and enjoyed it very much.
we visited Lisbon for the weekend and enjoyed it very much.
the city is walkable, but there are metros to catch back from the riverfront as it may be a bit much to walk all the way there and back. there are also quirky funiculars to take you up the hill for Euros 4.20 return.
the castle is a nice stroll up the hill! luckily there are bars up the top to catch your breath and quench your thirst. come back down the other side through all the narrow streets.
Beer and Gin are expensive but food and wine was reasonable.
public transport also very reasonable. the little red and yellow trams are expensive and a bit of a tourist trap. would recommend a visit

Easily accessible to all tourist attractions using the Lisbon travel card for trains, trams, buses. Best to book tickets in advance for what you want to visit. Recommend the castle in Alfama, Sintra and Pena Palace and a beach day at Cascais. Food prices very reasonable for a capital city. Would definitely recommend for a great city break or touring around Portugal. Only downside is the queue for some attractions even with booking tickets in advance so didn’t get to do some things as didn’t want to queue but lots of lovely free parks and museums to enjoy.

Lisbon is an extremely busy city so get used to the crowds and the cobble stone sidewalks, although charming! You need to plan ahead and book ahead where possible to avoid lineups and try to get best pricing. We took a tuk-tuk tour but I'm sure we could of gotten better pricing if done ahead of time on line. There is one area of the town near the large square with loads of restaurants were you are harassed by the staff to come-in and view menu. Beware!
The city has loads of charm & a good way to view it is using the Hop on Hop off bus service.

Lisbon is a wonderful city!
Lisbon is a wonderful city! Definitely deserve the hype and more.
There's so much to see, the weather in April was so nice and it was a good period to travel around, without too many tourists at the touristic places.
The city is colorful, good ambiance and cheap!
The surroundings are also great: it's worth spending a day in the beautiful Sintra, only 40min from Lisbon.
100% recommend for nice holidays in Europe.
HIstoric accommodations in the heart of old Lisbon; excellent location for walking to sights and restaurants. Modern design in old building; tasteful and beautiful. The breakfast provided, the extra efforts the staff went to in order to make our stay a warm welcome was really what sets this small, luxury boutique hotel apart from any other we've stayed in. Coming back at the end of a day of exploring, being offered a glass of wine; chatting with other guests .. it felt like coming home. HIghly recommend. Would love to return.
The breakfast was out of this world amazing. We’ve traveled around Portugal for 2 weeks staying in many 5 star hotels and yet this was way better. So unique with every detail thought through. WiFi speed was hitting 155Mb download. Perfect to have meetings and work. Staff very professional and polite especially the gentleman that works in the evening. I like staying in different places to try something new but I don’t think I’ll stay anywhere else when I come back to Lisbon and will highly recommend to everyone.
The hotel is in a lovely and easily accessible location.
I absolutely loved my stay there; the breakfast was lovely and the room was so comfortable and clean at all times,.
I went to Lisbon with no concrete itinerary but the staff helped with recommendations, they have a special desk to help clients with suggestions and bookings so that made my stay very worthwhile.
All facilities are as stated online. Definitely worth the price for a 5 star hotel.
Great staff, I highly recommend.
One of the best hotel we stayed at with our family across three generations. The kids, parents and grandparents loved the spacious environment, kitchenette, kids club, friendly staff and all the amenities offered at the hotel. We were so impressed with the hotel, its staff and the management being able to cater to the needs of international visitors. Would highly recommend for families and those wanting a more modern space to stay while in Lisbon.
This is my 3rd stay at the Portugal Boutique Hotel. The last visit was in 2019. If I am lucky enough to come to Lisbon again, I will certainly stay here. The staff is very friendly and helpful and the breakfasts are delicious. The location is very central, and the #28 trolley runs behind the hotel. I met friends here and the hotel.booked a car and driver to take us back to the airport. The staff made everything easy.
My stay at Jardim da Lapa was one of the best hotel experience i’ve had, the boutique hotel has a unique character in one of the most beautiful and quiet neighborhoods in Lisbon.
What i loved the most about the place: the attention to detail, the most friendly staff, the atmosphere, the pool, the breakfast.
It is a perfect place for a solo traveller, a couple and also a family!
I will be back for sure :)
All the staff was exceptional, gracious and very helpful on suggesting restaurants, walks, and sightseeing. Breakfast was best of our 3 week stay in Portugal, and they graciously allowed us an early one to make sure we got to airport on time. Location as in the center of a very social part of old Lisbon, walkable to all nearby sights and riverside area. Room was quiet despite a very in-city location
The staff was super!!!
Very very helpfull, taking the time to help you with everthing you need.
Room was ckean.
I would stay here again.
Take a walk round the hotel, lots of restaurants and places to have breakfast.
Bus in front of hotel, going to and from the city centre (Alfama).
Uber is very cheap in Lisbon (from airport to hotel etc).
The service throughout the hotel was 5 star excellent.
The food in the Cervejaria Liberdade was AMAZING! The best sole I've ever eaten.
We wanted to try more restaurants in Lisbon, but kept going there because it was so good.
The SEEN bar has terrific views... but it's a "scene" and there is alot of smoking which kinda ruins it for me
The best part is the location of the hotel with close proximity to Parque metro station (Yellow line)and Picoas metro station (Blue Line). Similarly stores like Aldi and Pingo Doce are located close by. You can even walk to Eduardo park. My room was located on the fifth floor and i was able to watch landing planes on Lisbon airport.
1. Apartment style rooms with 5 star luxury
2. Staff were amazing so welcoming and accommodating
3. Pool beds were fantastic and waiter service at pool area
4. Location ideal. Walk to coast or taxi to town. 10mins to airport
5. All hotel features were superb. It was like walking into a hotel of the Future in terms of tech
the hotel was a nice size compared to the hotels in Europe we stayed at. the hotel is centrally located plenty of restaurants near by and metro access around the corner. The staff were out of this world they mapped us stuff to do everyday . The staff were the best I ever experienced . 5 star hotel
I think it's the best hotel you can stay if you have late flight or 1 day transfer. Location is very good and near to the airport, but if I would like to stay in city centre for my travells, I wouldn't book it. (It's pretty much far from the centre.
Overall, room was clean with comfy bed.
An absolutely fabulous hotel in the heart of Lisbon. Staff were helpful, super friendly (even the night shift) and the facilities were excellent. Quite possibly one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed in! Congratulations to everyone at Browns Boutique Hotel, Lisbon.
It was one of the best Breakfasts I ever had in a hotel, even better than breakfast at 4 or 5 stars Hotels.
The only thing was that they only offer machine coffee, but everything else was amazing, homemade and you have many options to choose from.
If i ever gave 5 stars to a hotel, I didn't know what I was talking about.
This has been the best hotel I have been to, the beds felt like sleeping on clouds, and the room was spacious and comfy.
One of the best hotels that I have been to, and I can say that the 5 stars it has are well deserver. Great location, friendly staff and cleanliness on-point were all as good as you can expect.
