FAQs about hotels in Lisbon

Food, Fado and Fun in Lisbon

Facing the Tagus River and built on seven hills, charming Lisbon is one of the oldest cities in the world. It offers unique tram rides, intimate Fado performances, great dining venues and much more.

The city is famous for its districts: the Belém's famous monuments; the Alfama's labyrinthine streets, bars and small shops; and the trendy Alcântara's docks. Lisbon’s most popular nightlife and shopping venues are located in Bairro Alto, while the traditional heart of the city beats rhythmically in the Baixa.

Enjoy a walk in the greenery of Jardim Botânico, admire the architecture of the Jerónimos Monastery or explore Feira da Ladra flea market. The Chiado area serves the city's best traditional Portuguese food. No meal is complete without some famous pastéis de nata!

Getting to the city centre is only a metro or bus ride from Lisbon Portela Airport. Whether you want a luxury hotel, a friendly guesthouse or a cosy apartment, Booking.com has plenty of accommodations for your holiday in Lisbon.

A wonderful, warm and beautiful city!

A wonderful, warm and beautiful city! We loved all the places we have been, especially Alfama, Belem and the towns nearby: Sintra, Cascais,. It is very easy to travel with Lisboa card, by metro or bus or tram or even trains. We choose the restaurants based on google reviews and we were spot on every single time. Avoid Belem on March 17 - is a marathon!! It happened this year and five years back when we first travelled to Lisbon, so it is clearly a repeated event. The best Pasteis de nata - Manteicaria! Definitely!

We liked discovering the culture, the habits and the Portuguese food. What was a bit difficult was: too many cars and lots of road and building works. Also, we were surprised to see so many people begging and sleeping in the streets. The metro is easy and great. Above all, we loved the free guided walking tour (you give what you want at the end, and this is a SUPER concept). Our guide, Rita, was extremely good: perfect English, good French, great humour, knew a lot about Lisbon and was generous in explanations and answers. We learnt more in 3 hours than in a week at school ;o)

We felt safe walking around the City and packed in a lot into our 3 days. The 'free' walking tour was excellent (Tours of my life from Praca Luis De Camoes) and over 3 hours learned a lot about the history of Portugal and Lisbon. Numerous small restaurants and the food was good. Easy bus ride out to Belem with a nice river walk back. Great to be in a place that was clean, with very little litter, and i even saw workmen repairing potholes!! A nice break from the UK.

Lisbon is a fascinating and accessible European city.

Lisbon is a fascinating and accessible European city. The culture and architecture are very impressive. Infrastructure is also very good. The core of the city as with most European cities was designed for horses and carriages. This a mixed blessing as it makes the place somewhat more pedestrian friendly but can make driving and parking a challenge. Prices are generally very affordable by continental standards. Food is good but not remarkable. There are very good selections of seafood and pastry. Beef prices have risen recently.

Unexpectedly lovely city, especially loved the city elevators! The city is a wonderful mix of old and new and what a lot of history. We used the Yellow bus to see everything we wanted and much more. Was surprised at the number of museums - could have spent 2 more days just seeing a few more. The food was terrific and there was no problem navigating menus. The Metro / subway and trains were easy to use and quite reasonable. a terrific destinaton.

3 night break in March was perfect to explore the main areas and included a day trip to Sintra and cascais which we did on an excursion but easy also on the train. Alfama district was best area for culture/character & less traffic, Baixa and Barrio alta more busy and lots more shops /restaurants. North of city more of the commercial hub and wouldn’t bother with this area Lots of hills but easy to take trams or even Tuk tuks if you need to rest your feet. Enjoy getting lost down the maze of streets using landmark buildings to guide you. Everyone very friendly. Prices very reasonable. Lots to see. City is quite congested with traffic and streets a bit dirty/ overflowing bins/ graffiti.. I would visit in spring and autumn the summer heat would be unbearable

HIstoric accommodations in the heart of old Lisbon; excellent location for walking to sights and restaurants. Modern design in old building; tasteful and beautiful. The breakfast provided, the extra efforts the staff went to in order to make our stay a warm welcome was really what sets this small, luxury boutique hotel apart from any other we've stayed in. Coming back at the end of a day of exploring, being offered a glass of wine; chatting with other guests .. it felt like coming home. HIghly recommend. Would love to return.

Good value for your money-stay in Lisbon if you're looking for something a little bit better than a regular hotel. Everything was clean and all contact with staff went smoothly. The best part, however, was the free shuttle service from the hotel to the city centre (semi-flexible on exact location). The driver, Raphael (might not be correctly spelled), was the perfect man for the job, and could answer questions on what to do in Lisbon and give fun facts and information about the city overall. Definitely worth a ride!

The location was one of the best you could have asked for. Walking distance to an infinite amount of restaurants, cafes, shopping, plazas, and anything you could want to do in Lisbon. Walking distance to the Rossio train station so you could easily take a train to Sintra for the day. The hotel itself was very clean, and the staff was extremely helpful and informative. The room was pretty big for a European city, and extremely clean. The beds were comfortable, bathroom was nice.

Loved everything about this place, so happy I booked it. It made my stay in Lisbon. The hotel is brand new, love the design. Very very comfy bed and plenty of pillows. Staff were amazing and very helpful. Breakfast was one of the best I’ve had in any hotel. Highly recommended! You won’t be disappointed. It’s not exactly central, kind of at the other end of Avenida do Liberdade. But Bolt is very cheap in Lisboa so that wasn’t an issue. Rossio is about 20 min walk from the hotel.

The staff was the friendliest and most accommodating I have ever experienced. They made our stay exceedingly comfortable and luxurious. The hotel was beautiful, I loved the history and the art. The breakfast was fantastic and I also highly recommend their restaurant for dinner--it was the best meal we had during our time in Portugal! The hotel itself was the perfect location for our stay in Lisbon, only a block from the Tower of Belem. I would love to come back and stay again.

The host was extremely friendly and the communication was instant. Easy commute from airport to the hotel - only cost €1.60 using the train. The hotel is only 5 mins walk from the Lisbon city centre so it’s great. The room was great too - massive. Really clean. The kitchen was spacious. Our flight was 8pm but the host gave us a spare key for us to leave our luggage’s there and pick them up later after we checked out.
