I travelled from Tokyo to Shin-Fuji via Kodama Shinkansen.
I travelled from Tokyo to Shin-Fuji via Kodama Shinkansen. The fare is ¥5900 one way and travel time is nearly an hour. I stayed at Toyoko Inn which is 150 meters from the Shin Fuji station. There are lots of car rentals in the area but I was not able to get one as they only accept advance booking from their website. It took me 2 hours getting to and from the foot of Mt. Fuji, by bus and a 15 minute walk in the village to reach my destinations. Roads are quite narrow but they are common in Japan. Like most countryside places in Japan, Fuji is relatively clean, rich in nature, and lots of places to explore. My advice if you want to visit Fuji: 1. Travel by Shinkansen going to and from Fuji. 2. Rent a car so you can visit most of the attractions in and around Mt. Fuji. 3. Spend at leat 3-4 days in the area. 4. Bring cash with you always as most establishments are cash based. 5. Download Papago app on your phone so you can translate Japanese images, signs, etc if you're having difficulty understanding the language. That's it and enjoy your trip to Mt. Fuji.

The host was amazing, he has two dogs. 50 years old traditional house is an experience itself. House is comfortably situated between two stations, one of which is Shinkansen stop. 7-eleven is nearby. Authentic experience of Japanese life different from hectic Tokyo, because not touristy.

I only gave ok rating cause I wasn’t able to see Mount Fuji in the spring. It’s a hit and miss this time of the season, but transportation to one of the lakes was easy. Next time I’ll pick the right season to visit.
The buffet breakfast which consisted of both Japanese and western cuisines were delicious. The location was perfect being next to the Shin-Fuji Station which brings you to Tokyo via the Shinkansen in an hour. The hotel also provides a van shuttle to Fuji Station which is about 10 minutes away (Do check the schedules which is listed on a board in front of the hotel). From Fuji Station, one can take the local train to Fujinomiya Station which is 20 minutes away. I would definitely recommend this hotel for the location, comfort and convenience!
Everything about the hotel was well thought out. Even a hand basin in the room, a small fridge and TV. Comfortable futons as well! The lounge is great with tea /coffee making facilities. Jiro the host is always around to help with anything and will happily run your bath. The small bathroom has a ceramic bath, beautifully designed and a lovely way to end a long day. It was great having such close access to the rail and bus stations for the everyday excursions to Mt Fuji locations.
Amazing view of Mt Fuji from our 11th floor deluxe twin room. Very comfortable mattresses and the hotel was able to let us use a few more pillows to alleviate a medical condition. Very clean rooms. Staff friendly and helpful. Free parking next door was very convenient. Felt very safe around here.
Good value. $20 per person per night. U can get your own room or in a shared room. The facility is very clean. The location is about a 12 min taxi ride from shin Fuji station which costs about 1200 yen. Great value if you decide to climb the mountain Fuji.
The rooms are modern and comfy.
The hotel’s family-friendly. The walls are soundproofed.
The staff are friendly and helpful. They speak English well.
The bathroom’s huge, clean and modern.
The floor has an amazing view of Mt. Fuji.
The breakfast is okay.
Perfect location for visiting Fujisan (mt fuji) tourist locations if you arrive via shinkanzen and rent a car during your stay.
Friendly staff, free vending machine vouchers, secure female public bath. Bed and room were comfy enough for the price.
Central location to discover Shizuoka - combined with Mt. Fuji-Shizuoka Area Tourist Pass Mini. Super near train station. Has a breakfast area to chill from 6pm-9pm with free drinks n some liquor. Very friendly staff!!
Overall the room was quite big and the view of mt Fuji was amazing. There was a hot spring facility available and restaurant which was there and provided breakfast and dinner. It was an enjoyable little stay.
As the name describes it is a Backpacker place with a friendly relaxed vibe. The welcome and departure was very nice. He dropped us to the Fuji station which we appreciate.
The cooking facilities are good.
I like the convenient location which is right next to Shin Fuji station. I also love the way how it offers a bath for the guests and we love every part of it.
Very good price. Once I got used to how the property was set up, I realized that it was a good value for the money. Excellent view of Mt. Fuji from the top.
Great location with views of Mt Fuji and plenty of restaurants options nearby. Front desk staff were amazing with one gentleman speaking perfect English.
