We had two bookings. Our group had 3 apartments in total. See previous review.
Original room given was not suitable and the staff were kind enough to move us closer to the other apartments in our family group.
Staff were really friendly and hard working. Location was central for our needs. Free parking although not undercover. There is a pool however the need to make a booking and choose a time slot meant it was hard to use spontaneously which we are used to doing when staying at places. Access to the facilities just felt unnecessarily complicated. Quite modern furnishings. Plenty of hotel sized toiletries and towels.

I love Ipoh because the food is great, the old town is easy and fun. I have friends there so it is different. I don't care for much of the rest but they are there if you want to do it. Make sure you have lots of space in your lugguage to buy your yummy snacks and gifts home.

This was only a short stop over for me.
This was only a short stop over for me. And it was mainly for food.
Had the Beggar's Chicken which was brilliant and the tau foo fah at Funny Mountain was brilliant. The one we usually went to (near Concubine Lane) was closed and we found this one at Funny Mountain. It was so good we went back the next day to have another go before leaving Ipoh.
Our morning breakfast was Dim Sum at Zhen Hi Hao which is brilliant. The atmosphere was great. It was not noisy like some of the other "so-called" popular ones. And the food is truly good. I highly recommend this place for Dim Sum.

Ipoh is nice place as in if you are seeking for tranquility and peace, this is a great place.
However, knowing which restaurants and shops to eat can be challenging let along affordability.
There are good places for sightseeing but I would come to Ipoh just to relax. It is suitable for a staycation

The food was good but I don't think I want to dine in the tourist area as their pricing is more costly than K.L. Better eat in other local kopitiam or cafe. Got cheated dining at Cowan Chicken Keow teow soup. Even Dim sum is so so only.Getting around is walking distance when staying in Ipoh Downtown hotel. Strategy location. Highly recommended.

ipoh is my hometown
ipoh is always for foodies if you have visited hong kong then ipoh is similarity but much more polite . most of the popular food outlet is close by you can track around on feet trying different food court and taste theauthentic white coffee in ipoh old town and new town and indulge yourselfwith premium coffeeat any cafe in green town remember that there is no chance for setar bake coffee chain to set foot in ipoh
Bed is super comfy, the whole hotel setup and ambience is relaxing and still keeping good after so many years (last visit 2018). The hotel is very clean even in common area, hotel room came with your own bathtub with high ceilings. Tv channels are Astro, came with quite a lot of variety. Room service is fast.
Breakfast is freeflow orange/coffee/milk/tea/lemon water, you can take ur own cornflakes and bread with butter Jam.
Location is great if you want to access around town area or famous eateries.
It's prime location - it is close to Ipoh, Tasik Cermin and amenities such as fuel stations, food outlets etc.
The views of the hills, near and around the house and its neighborhood, are magnificent.
The house itself is splendid. Minimalist designs and decorations, comfy beds, sufficient facilities.
In conclusion, it's a splendid place, whether you are with friends or families.
Our trip is complete, thanks to a good night sleep that we had here.
We are repeat guests as the Valya hotel in Ipoh, its all about location and good service, reasonable cost..staffs always excellent, we never had a problem communication, and access to the rest of the town from train station to hotel is easy by taxi and walking distance from bus station to hotel and we always being grateful for their commitment to excellence service they provided, we look forward to staying with you again soon.
Someone reviewed the decor as "Quirky"! Well, that's one way to describe it. Painted wooden floors with old style cases & trunks - but the dominant feature was African animals - and mostly the big cats; no apparent linkage to Ipoh or Malaysia that I could discern.
About 50yds to the left as you leave the hotel is a shop where you can get a very good local breakfast - very popular!
All staffs are friendly esp the Indian receptionist woman. They hired a guard at night for the guests' car safety and he did his job very well. I wasn't expecting the hotel will be that good. The room has the standard size but everything seemed perfect. It's neat, clean and offered incredible space for that room size. For a minimalist like me, I love this hotel.
Everything! It was an amazing stay. Toilet was clean. Equipped with hair dryer, toothbrushes. Laundry was great with washer and dryer. Room was spacious, staffs are friendly, ambience was great. Room facilities were superb with its design, comes with bedroom slippers, bathrobe, cozy bed and pillows, espresso machine n etc. It was like staying at a 5 Star Hotel!
The unit was as what you see on Booking.com. Hassle free check in and check out. The place was clean and well maintained. Everything is in good working condition. We used the pool mainly and it was clean. Two parking lots were allocated. Suitable for a short get away. There are eateries nearby. But if you want to get to Ipoh town centre, it takes 15-20 mins.
Best decision we made is to stay in this hotel. The receptionist was really nice and friendly. When he saw our baby, he immediately asked if we want a baby bathtub and made sure that we have everything we need. Got remote for the gate and easy parking. Great cozy and quiet place. Really enjoyed and will book again here if we come back to ipoh.
Decoration of the room is superb. I was amazed when I step in the room. It feels like enters a wood lodge. Big space for the washroom and shower room. Consistent hot water with good water pressure to enjoy a hot bath after came back from my travel around Ipoh town.
Love this hotel. Definitely choosing this hotel again for my next trip.
Comfortable bed and great air-conditioning. Hotel was located near highway. Small boutique hotel, nicely decorated and has vending machines. Ample parking by the roadside. Quite far from Ipoh town, but good place to stay if you have transportation or if u need a stopover before heading north. Hot shower was great.
The stay was nice and the location of the hotel is also strategic as it located not too far from other attraction places in Ipoh. And also, the hotel is near to the town so you don’t have to worry of getting food for the late night supper. For me, it was 10/10
We have stayed at this hotel 3 times when we go to Ipoh.
Good breakfast and delicious too. The rooms were clean and very comfortable. Very good hotel location.
Front desk staff ad other staff is extremely efficient, pleasant and helpful.
This hotel very convenient for our travel and very easy to look many good food at restaurant or stall. Got nite market.. quite a good location in town area. Will recommend to all my fren who want go to ipoh for holiday..
The hotel was very clean. Room was spacious and clean. The location of the hotel is very convenient to the tourists spots and in Ipoh town. Parkings available and worth the money.
The location is probably one of the best that any hotel in Ipoh could offer, in view that guests could walk to various tourist areas within the vicinity.
