The hotel was great and clean. We decided to go with a park view and it was amazing seeing the people gather at the gate in the morning and seeing it lit up at night too. The hotel is literally right by the gate so you can exit to head into Universal Studios right after having your breakfast. There are many stores and places to eat right outside the hotel too, and it was only a few minutes walk away from the train station too.

They said also have coin laundry in the hotel premises but I didn't check or use it. The room was clean and full of amenities. Oh, the last but not least, it has a giant TV in the room.

At the meeting point of river and sea, huge Osaka combines forward-thinking development and sure-footed tradition. This is symbolised in its temple-like, 16th century castle, guarded by ramparts and enlivened by vibrant spring cherry blossom. Dominating the surrounding skyline is Osaka Business Park, a reminder of the city’s strong role in the Japanese economy.
However, the most striking skyscraper is the Umeda Sky Building - 2 towers connected by a rooftop terrace offering far-reaching views. The nearby Osaka and Umeda train stations are linked by underground shopping centres, while the shops of Shinsaibashi’s America Village appeal to a younger crowd. Dōtonbori’s neon lights promote more shops, as well as restaurants considered the best in Osaka. In a city touted as Japan’s culinary capital, that’s quite an accolade.
The Tsūtenkaku tower overlooks Tennōji Park, home of the Osaka Municipal Museum of Art. Another nearby park houses Shitennō-ji, one of Japan’s oldest Buddhist temples.
The Kyocera Dome Osaka is a shrine of baseball, and more thrills are at waterfront Universal Studios Japan, the country’s 2nd largest theme park. Also by the sea is Kansai International Airport, on its own artificial island.
The capsule hotel was invented in Osaka, and alongside this type of accommodation, Booking.com also offers luxury hotels with pools, cheap hostels and traditional ryokans.

Osaka has a lot to offer: short day trips to lovely cities (Kyoto, Kobe, Nara), nice sightseeing in walkable distances, huge shopping areas and a lot of activities to book!
The botanical garden has a Lightshow you don‘t wanna miss (but of course not always).
Tip: go and slide down the tower of Tsutenkaku- I loved it!! (1000 Yen)
The metro is easy to use and you could also book (electrical) bike vis Luup (app).

Osaka is a wonderful city, more navigable than Tokyo with a more laid-back vibe. The amount of day trips that are possible could fill sever weeks - as well as Kyoto, NARA, Himeji and Hiroshima, give Kinosaki Onsen, Kurashiki or Mount Koya a try.

Coming from Tokyo, first impressions were not the greatest as they are vastly different. But after spending the next day on our walking tour with Masa and exploring Osaka more - we absolutely loved it!
The park around Osaka Castle was my favourite place for seeing the cherry blossoms in full bloom!
The property is conveniently located near shin Osaka. A bit tricky to find the first time. But I found that with all the hotels I stayed at on this trip.
It’s a budget hotel. So no Bells and whistles. But staff is courteous. English is minimal. But you can manage. Room is basic, small like most Japanese hotels. But clean. Breakfast is included. However we did not eat. Didn’t like the selection. But no complaints as I wasn’t looking for a breakfast included room. It just happened to offer it by default. For the price the room was great.
This was one of our favorite hotel stays. The breakfast was amazing with both western and Japanese options. The staff was wonderful, helpful, and easy to communicate with. The hotel itself was pristine. The beds were very close to each other. So, although we were in “twin beds” it was like we were sharing a king bed. The hotel itself is about a 30 minute walk from Osaka Station; however, there were closer subway lines that may be able to take you to the Station. This was early on in our trip. So, we really didn’t look into it.
The hotel is a just a few minutes away from the south exit of Shin-Osaka station. I liked the compact layout of the room. The bed was spacious and comfortable. The controls for the lights, air conditioner, and chargers by the headboard were really helpful as they are just near you. The huge tv has information on the onsen capacity, check-in/out details, and services. I also like that I could airplay videos that I am watching on the screen. The staff were hospitable and helped me despite my limited Japanese language.
Great hotel. We came back three time during our stay in Japan and used this hotel as our base in Osaka. Room is small like most Japanese hotels but very clean and comfortable. Staff were great. Its very close to the subway station so easy to get around on the trains. Plenty of convienience stores around and some great restaurants as well. The area is very clean and quite. They have washing machines on the 6th floor which we found very convenient. Overall we really enjoyed our stay here.
We spent one night in Osaka before traveling on to other parts of Japan. The hotel is very pretty and has an interesting church on the grounds. The staff were helpful and cheerful. Beds were fine, shower was fine. The hotel is not in the train station, but is accessible from the train station by walking underground. We had an issue with our thermostat and they came right away to fix it -and it was fixed to our satisfaction. We didn't eat there, but the restaurants looked very nice.
The beds were very comfortable, bathroom was very good. Although the rooms were not big, space was used very efficiently.
The hotel is next to the Shin-Osaka Station so that hotel is a HUGE base for traveling Japan via the Shinkansen. Unfortunately I booked the hotel for one night. Should I visit Japan again, this will definitely be my base 😏
Prices are very reasonable. The hotel also has a spa area, which though I didn't use because it was hot summer.
I wanted to stay close to Shin-Osaka rail station to visit Hiroshima/Kyoto/Himeji etc. and Smile Hotel was a good choice. Just 5 min to Shin-Osaka, 3 min to nearest metro station. Lots of places to eat and 24h marts around. Hotel looks fresh, room was of a good size (for Japan), very clean, bed comfortable, could open the window which is important for me. They have coin laundry on site (typical for Japanese hotels - very convenient). Wifi worked ok.
This hotel is right in the center of everything. All major attractions are walking distance. The famous Dotonbori and Shinsaibashi station are 5-10 minutes away. Namba station is 20 minutes away. The Library cafe where breakfast is served really relaxing and open till midnight. All the staff are really helpful, especially Miss Sugimura who is kind cheerful and speaks English fluently. We will definitely stay here again when we visit Osaka.
I loved this elegant hotel, just next to Osaka Station! I was a little bit confused when I first arrived to Osaka, as I couldn't figure out at first how to get to the hotel. I soon realized though that its building is directly connected to the station, so I just had to cross a bridge, which was so convenient for our everyday commute! The room was at an expected size for Japan, the stuff very kind and helpful. The views were amazing!!
The hotel is so big - and offers free drinks too. The location is in the Center of Osaka and it’s also near the train station. I walked to Dotonbori every night. The rooms are really big despite the fact that in Japan the rooms are a little small. The breakfast was very nice and offered a variety of things. The staff was polite and helpful. Totally recommend this place.
Location is just outside the action in Dotonbori and a few minutes walk away from Namba. Very convenient for us who are staying in Osaka only for a few days before flying out of Japan. Pretty good value as we booked last minute due to changes in travel plans. The hotel was also quite generous with personal care amenities
Big spacious room, rather a small flat, much bigger than usually in Japan. Close to Dotonbori, but still in a calm neighbourhood. Our room was facing the small street, so we had calm and quiet nights, we could sleep really well at this hotel. When we come to Osaka again, we will choose this hotel again.
Central location in Shinsaibashi near Dontonburi and other main Osaka sights, clean, modern and very spacious compared to normal standard Japanese hotels. Great facilities and amenities with bilingual staff. Beds are more comfier than the majority of hotels stayed at within main CBDs. Worth the $$
Great location, very friendly and helpful staff. Room was a comfortable version of the standard Japanese business hotel style. Very easy to get to any part of Osaka, and conveniently located for leaving on day trips round Kansai from Namba or Tennoji.
Beautiful hôtel, next to osaka Station and the pokemon center.
Very easy to find 👌
The room was spacious, bigger than others japanese hotel room.
If you want to lunch at b-1 you have all the restaurants 15-20 restaurants
Loved this hotel!! Near the heart of Osaka and near a metro and JR station. Accommodations were excellent and having access to an in room washer and dryer was priceless during our long weeks long trip to Japan.
The room is big enough for my family…there are so much space form luggage compare with other hotel in japan…whenever i come again in Osaka definitely will stay here again 😊
i like it's location because it's near Dotonbori and near Osaka-Namba Station. It is also very comfortable. If I get the Chance I might book with them Again
Very convenient location in Osaka. Service is very good. They provide luggage delivery to other hotels as well which is a big must in travelling in Japan.
