Bucknell is a small village with the most friendly people.
Bucknell is a small village with the most friendly people. The Sitwell Pub was a typical little village pub also very welcoming as was and the local shop that also ran the garage. The bus comes every two hours and the driver was very friendly too.

We found Bucknell to be a quiet, small rural village, very quiet when we visited though we spent most of the time walking in the nearby forests. Highlight of the countryside walk was watching red kites soaring above the pines and the abundance of wildlife.

Great location for the purpose of our visit which was to walk part of the Heart of Wales new long distance trail. Owners were very welcoming and helpful. The cottage is comfortable and well equipped and larger than we had anticipated from the pictures on the website. We will definitely use again

Lovely location and the room was spacious and clean with lovely touches like proper milk, biscuits and chocolate. Loved that I could watch catch up TV and Netflix. This is a really great addition. I would definitely stay here again if in the area. The only criticism would be the value for money on the food and drinks. I didn't particularly enjoy my evening meal although the breakfast was excellent.
We absolutely loved the location of the property and stunning scenery. The house was immaculate, cosy and very well stocked with everything we needed. The garden was superb. It had plenty of outdoor games to play on the lawn and it was wonderful to watch the Red Kites flying above for entertainment. We loved walking around the village and really enjoyed the Aardvark Book shop in Brampton Bryon. Wood ‘n’ Ribbon in Hopton is a great place to stop for lunch and The Baron at Bucknell had a great choice of food for children.
Bucknell is an excellent location and a perfect base for the many wonderful walks from the Hall and further afield. There are also many great places to explore close by. Breakfast is excellent, beautifully presented and plenty of choice. The rooms are spacious, well appointed, very comfortable and include lovely touches such us homemade treats and fresh flowers.
