If you want a quiet break or a base for travelling in Angus / Fyfe its great. Carnoustie itself only has about 4 good places to eat. The High street shops are still holding on - but typically only open from 10-4.
Public transport links are not great but if you have a car there's plenty of parking (and EV charging usually available).

The beach area, golf course and immediate surroundings were impressive, good restaurants located in those areas.
The town Main Street was very disappointing, this comment being based on previous descriptions of the town.
People were friendly, and helpful, particularly the local library staff with local tourist information available.

The staff as always were attentive, helpful and friendly without being obtrusive. The food was as good as it always is. Cooked to perfection and presented well. There are plenty things to do. Lots of walks in either direction from the hotel. A walk along the High Street looking at some independent shops. You can also take the train to Dundee, only 12 minutes, and see many cultural experiences. Or, just shop. Alternatively you can go North to Aberdeen and enjoy a day out there.

Staff from check in to check out were superb.
Check in desk, bar staff, waiting staff and spa staff all very friendly and helpful.
For anyone who doesn't know the hotel, it is ideal for Championship golf, for walking on the beach and surrounding area and for relaxation by the sea.
Hotel food is great but there are a few restaurants in Carnoustie or if you want the city, Dundee is 10 miles away, and full of restaurants..
Breakfast and dinner were cooked when ordered , so arrived fresh at the table. Choice was excellent, portions were huge. Rooms were clean and modern. Bedding was crisp white cotton, beds were comfortable. Tea and coffee were provided free of charge. There was a mini bar but we preferred the hotel bar.
Every member of staff we dealt with were really friendly and could not have done more to make us welcome.
We really enjoyed our visit and would stay again if we came back to Carnoustie.
Excellent location close to beach restaurants shops and bars, great transport link bus/train to other nearby towns Monifieth Broughty Ferry and Dundee . Off street parking is a bonus. Exceptional choice of continental/full breakfast. We booked the King room in this Guest House which was first class accomodation. Extremely comfortable. Lisa and Allan are first class hosts, Thankyou for your hospitality. We will be booking this guest house on our next visit to Carnoustie.
This was probably the best Hotel/B&B I've stayed in. The staff were beyond exceptional. Extremely friendly and Reggie the dog tops it all. The breakfast was fantastic, for some of the days of our stay I had to leave early but as one of the options was for a takeaway breakfast, I was able to take a warm breakfast roll with me for those days and it was ready and waiting for when I left. The views from the location are also beautiful. All in all I would return again!
This cottage is a lovely little find, has everything you need, towels, iron, ironising board, oven, gas hob and kettle. Just to name a few items. Very comfortable, the family that own it are lovely and helpful. It’s not to far from lots of walking areas and the beach. Plus close to places of interest in Dundee and fife and also the golf course at Carnoustie. There is a farm cafe down the road which sells lovely cakes and scones.
The Corner hotel and the staff there were excellent. Due to a late change in personal circumstances the hotel staff facilitated last minute changes and this shows how seriously they value their guests in my view. An excellent breakfast, nice food for dinner, a bar with ample choice priced to sell for us cheapskates. Would not hesitate to return if the need arises.
Booked the single room which was absolutely brilliant🙂 perfect place to rest after walking on the fife coastal path all week. Mini bar was great. Overall the room was great & will deffo consider booking again if in the local area. Location was just the job especially if u like golf as I do👍 hotel bar also fantastic aswell👍
Excellent communication prior to stay and exceptionally warm welcome on arrival. Wonderful location looking down over Carnoustie, the golf course and sea. Short, easy walk into town. The highest quality decorations and furnishings. Lovely breakfast with many options.
everything was first class ,the room was perfect it was like being in a 5 star hotel ,towels dressing gowns ,slipers etc ,good view of the sea even had binoculars in the room ,the breakfasr was perfect as much as you can eat ,will go again if iam in Dundee
Perfect for us. Lovely, quaint. clean room with a wonderful view. Excellent hosts, they made sure we had everything we needed. Yummy breakfast! A great location in the beautiful village of Carnoustie… plenty of on-site parking.
The staff were very happy to see us and very helpful in imparting information about the hotel and that if we had any questions, someone from the staff would be on hand to answer any questions.
Lovely old hotel adjacent to the Carnoustie railway station . We had a very spacious and well appointed room , the food was extremely good pub food and the staff excellent and friendly
This is a minimalist hotel well located in downtown Carnoustie - friendly staff and an easy check in experience. There is a grocery store just down the street that is very convenient.
Spacious, comfortable, clean room and excellent food. Good location for exploring the local area and further afield. Handy for the train into Dundee. Staff were helpful and cheerful.
Lyn is a wonderful host who is very responsive and great to deal with. The Old Manor is nicely appointed & enjoyed the beautiful sea views. Breakfast was delicious every morning
Very comfortable hotel, excellent location for exploring the local area, plus the added advantage of being located on a championship golf course, win-win
