Holiday Inn Hemel Hempstead M1, Jct. 8, an IHG Hotel, hotel in Hemel Hempstead

Holiday Inn Hemel Hempstead M1, Jct. 8 offers an excellent location just off the M1 (Junction 8) and is easily accessed from the M25. This hotel offers high-speed internet throughout.

Very friendly staff, clean room, good shower and nice toiletries - the refillable bottles were of good quality for handwash, shampoo and shower gel. The restaurant and food choices were good. The pool and leisure facilities were included and we enjoyed using them. There was plenty of parking - at a £7 charge but I didn't mind that.

Had seen some mixed reviews about the hotel, but have to say my experience was good. Room was well decorated and clean (as people had commented it can be a long walk from reception, but that didn't bother me), dinner and breakfast both good. Staff were pleasant and helpful.

The location was perfect for our trip down to the Harry Potter studio tour. Just a 15 minute drive away and in a quiet rural spot. The main room was stunning and very spacious. The hosts are really friendly and made sure we knew where everything was. There's also a lovely outdoor area but sadly we didn't get to use it because of the cold weather. Would definitely recommend.

    The staff are so helpful.

The staff are so helpful. It’s easy to get to - perfect for Harry Potter world. There seemed to be a few other attractions near by too. The pool and gym were a little shabby but the kids loved it and it was a great way to tire them out. The breakfast was great and at the other end of the day the bar was comfy, inviting and well stocked.

I thought this place was perfect for us. We met our grandchildren there and they loved the pool. The evening menu was great for adults, unfortunately the children didn’t like anything but that’s not saying it was good. Picky eaters!

The accommodation was a very high standard and the host were very helpful. We needed to check in early to attend a family function and the hosts were more than willing for us to do so.Everthing was made easy for us and although the host was available to us we were given privacy .The only problem we encountered was the m25 which had lane closures but we soon overcame that

The staff were lovely. Really helpful.

The staff were lovely. Really helpful. Put surprise birthday card and sweets in the room foe my son, which he loved. The room was tiny. Just enough space to walk between the double bed and the sofa bed. Bothe mattresses were extremely uncomfortable. Breakfast was basic and not much choice. We got there at around 9 and some stuff had run out and without asking wouldn't of been refilled.

We can’t really comment on Hemel Hempstead itself as we were there to catch up with relatives and only had two days and the weather was dreadful so we didn’t get to see much! But the people we met were friendly and helpful

It was clean and the in room amenities were good, shower pressure was disappointing, pull out bed had 2 duvets on top of the mattress but it was still uncomfortable, main bed was ok for 1 night- spare room level of comfort, not main room or luxury like the "purple" hotels. Breakfast choices were good and the option to take away was good too. There is the option for an evening meal even though the website says there isn't, but the Fullers right next door is a better option.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Room clean and comfortable. Plenty of breakfast available and lots of choice even though they had to accommodate covid restrictions. Good location with a lovely walk along the canal toe path just meters away from the hotel. Easy access to several restaurants within walking distance and several more takeaways. Easy driving distance to HP studio tour and easy to find, park and access.

Best hotel we stayed in all week. Nice room above a busy pub. Had air conditioning, a nice big clean bathroom and really comfortable beds. Breakfast to go was included too. Really good value. Location was great. We didn't eat at the pub (as we fancied a change) but this is in the centre of old Hemel Hempstead and close to all the amenities. The pub is old, and feels really quaint.

Staff were lovely and so helpful, like nothing was too much. On booking in, I asked for a room next to an exit, and the lovely receptionist found one and changed our room no issue for which I was very grateful. Breakfast! What can I say?! It was exceptional, definitely the best thing about the hotel. Lovely remote location.

I like the thought they put into equipping and decorating the place. It gave a homely feel, was very clean and the bed was exceptionally comfy for me. Even though it is located right in the centre of Hemel Hempstead I had a very good sleep. Much better sleep than in any hotel really. So all was really good..

The hotel was considerably better than I had anticipated as it was on a busy junction of the M1. Despite the motorway it was quiet and the design was such that it took advantage of trees and deep shrubbery surrounding the bar and dining area which made it very pleasant.
