Machynlleth is a great town to visit, but very quiet on Mondays with a lot of shops/cafes closed. MOMA is great for those enjoying gallery space and there are several antique shops for browsers. The Deli near the clock tower has wonderful offerings, sadly the kitchen was closed the day of my visit but I left with bags of goodies to eat later. Wednesday is the day to visit when the market takes over the wide main main street.

I've been in love with Machynlleth for decades and will literally tell anyone to go there. Except don't, because I'd like to keep it for myself please. The highlight of one of this year's trips was the Machynlleth comedy festival which I'd not made it to before but was superb. Easy access to incredible beaches and incredible countryside. Some of the best (Michelin starred) restaurants in the country from Ynyshir to SY23 in Aberystwyth. Great shopping - definitely always make time to pop in the Deco Shop.

If you like the peace and quiet away from people with great views from every window. Sheep in the fields to watch. But close enough to everything you need ie restaurants, takeaways, pubs, walks, beach, shops etc then you’ll enjoy it as much as we did. You also had all of the amenities and equipment to cook for yourselves if that appeals.

If you want to get away from the current troubles all around the world this is a good place to be! It has all the amenities needed along with a wonderful sense of stability and sanity. I felt refreshed on leaving - as I always do over 50 years of visiting this beautiful town. I will be back!
The Co-op has a great store within a store for all sorts of bargains - like leather belts for €6 and quality copy perfumes for €4! And the nicest assistant ever!

Easy to find with good available parking.
Easy to find with good available parking. Very nice clean tidy room with comfortable bed. Tea/ coffee making provided. Towels, soap etc provided. Room was very warm, maybe a little too warm but heating wasn't on. Door could be locked and a key provided. Friendly pub 5 mins walk or evening meals. Continental breakfast included but no cooked meals.
Host was very friendly.
Would be very happy to come back and to recommend to others.
To everyone who complains in the comments about the small house, the inconvenient entrance to the bed, the hot water in the shower, the basic hot tub - It's time to go back to the retirement home and it's time to choose four or five star hotels where you will get everything on a plate. The location of the house itself is breathtaking, literally like in a picture. We are thinking of visiting again. Thank you for everything.
Great breakfast, comfy bed, helpful staff, spacious car park, quiet rooms despite being above a pub, doors that didn't slam which was handy as we got back quite late and didn't want to disturb other guests. The family room was actually two rooms, a compact double and a small single, great for privacy for older kids or adults sharing. Warm welcome and the bar also serves food and hot drinks during the day.
Rhian is a wonderful host. The room had everything we needed and was cleaner than a 5-star hotel. The location is absolutely great for people who’re looking for a quiet base to discover the region - just a stones-throw away from southern Snowdonia and the Cambrian mountains. We’ll definitely stay with Rhian again when we’re back in Wales!
Good value, clean hotel. Despite being over a popular pub it was quiet for sleeping as they seem to be quite strict about cutting the noise by a reasonable time. Breakfast was included and was good. I'd stay again if I am in the area and the price is right.
The location was very convenient and the hotel had its own car park. The room was fine and clean and the beds were comfortable. Milk cartons and biscuits were provided on two of the days but not the third day, however I always bring my own just in case.
Really friendly, polite and courteous staff. Had to leave before breakfast was served and they made sure I was fed before leaving. Very nice cat who lives there too! Would definitely return and recommend to anyone staying in the area!
A Lovely little hostel.
Very welcoming and a great little kitchen..great views
Literally a 5 minute walk from train station.
On a good bus route.
I Found Machynlleth a
Lovely place.
Lovely people..
A Range of shops..
Breakfast was heavenly: delicious and such attention to detail. I live in Japan and this was right up there in terms of 'omotenashi' which means hospitality. Furnishings, decor also first rate. I want to live here!
Rhian is a great host. The property is sparkling clean and very comfortable. Breakfast was ordered in advance, was very filling and tasty. As I don't eat a cooled breakfast it suited me fine
Pleasant and comfortable stay in nicely appointed B.and B.Large, comfortable bedroom and good,well-prepared breakfast.Free parking and easy walking distance from town centre.
Very quiet and welcoming, beautiful views and stunning location. Great base to explore the surrounding areas. Great shower and very comfortable bed, well stocked kitchen.
Wonderful host. Great breakfast options. Stunning location. House full of character, in quiet rural hamlet, but close to good facilities in Machynlleth.
