This location does not currently offer breakfast, just Tea/Coffee in the room. The Pub is a friendly local village pub and is a quirky old building so the rooms are funny shapes but with plenty of character. The Pub is located on the High Street of a busy little village with various shops in walking distance. There is a Petrol Station opposite that has a good coffee machine(!) for those who need a morning Latte. The staff (and locals) were all very friendly so as a lone traveller it is a pleasant place to stop. Evening meals were good although they are only available for limited hours.
A haven of peace and tranquillity, this traditional English country house lies in a unique rural setting, surrounded by beautiful gardens and a 60 acre lake, yet only 12 miles from historic Chester.

Fabulous hotel and location. Rooms immaculately clean.
Fabulous hotel and location. Rooms immaculately clean.
2 uncomfortable mattresses pushed together leaving a “valley “ in the middle. Tv didn’t pick up signal . Terrible WiFi . Room service never turned up after 2 phone calls I had to go downstairs myself.
Breakfast passable but no one in charge , small portions, tea and coffee in flasks , no orange, no bowls, workman on ladder in middle of food area. Complete lack of management.

Beautiful setting , good size room, comfy bed, swimming pool was nice, friendly staff. Bit disappointed with continental breakfast, only one choice of juice, toaster didn’t toast evenly, tea wasn’t given in pots of tea but waitress brought it round which meant it wasn’t hot also very strong.. the cooked breakfast would probably be better but I can’t comment on that.

The town is beautiful and full of lovely boutique shops. There are convenient grocery shops, hairdressers and salons. There is also a post office and cash machine in the centre. I visited for a family wedding so didn’t have a lot of time to explore, but I would love to stay again and go shopping!

Room was in a very tasteful barn conversion.
Room was in a very tasteful barn conversion. Very spacious and comfortable - a good night’s sleep was easily achieved.
Was a little difficult to find a first as is located down a narrow country lane. But due to this the location was idyllic - the view from the window was of a lovely meadow.
We were only there for one night due to our schedule, but would happily have stayed longer if need be. Would certainly return if we are in the area again.

I love the style of buildings in Tarporley, high street very pleasant for a wander. Quite busy, but for me that adds to the “feel” of the area - i could quite happily live/retire to a town like this
Very spacious cottage right in the middle of the village. We loved our stay as everything was clean and fresh, it was a true home from home. The weather was cold when we stayed so we enjoyed a log fire with marshmallows and some wine, which made it extra cozy. The pub around the corner has amazing food and a great choice of local beers. Lots of lovely country walks to burn off some energy! We will be back, next time hopefully with our little dog!
we went for our first year anniversary so it was a treat. The one memorable thing was the amazing bartender at the wine cellar who was absolutely amazing. (unfortunately we did not get his name). He was friendly and made the night entertaining as there is not much to do at the castle or surrounding areas. he makes the most amazing cocktails! we are surprised that there is no ‘Peckforton Castle special cocktail’
Parking easy and plentiful. Nice pub in a lovely village. The owners are friendly and helpful. Their assistant Sammy is very pleasant, efficient and extremely helpful. Room was clean and we slept very well. We had a couple of steaks which were cooked to our liking. Beer was spot on and wine fairly priced. Cannot comment on breakfast as we didn’t order it. Would definitely stay there again if in the area.
The room was beautiful. Very well put together, spacious and clean. Easy to access and easy to check in. There isn't hotel parking, but there is a free car park a 60 second walk from the hotel which was easy enough to find The host/staff we friendly and helpful. I needed an iron for one of my outfits and after I requested it they responded quickly and organised one to be brought up to my room.
Fabulous place to stay. Big enough property for a family, spacious rooms yet feels cozy. Nice outdoor area for the kids to play. A chicken came to visit in the morning and evenings. Friendly hosts. Lovely and private.
Great location for lots of family things to do. We went to the ice cream farm, beeston castle, Chester zoo, shire horse stud, farms shops.
Great places to eat.
Every little special touch in this pristine property was attended to- from yogurts, cereal and fresh milk for breakfast in the room, to gorgeously comfortable bedding and towels. The rural area was idyllic with Tarporley close enough for short walks to the pubs and restaurants. The hosts were incredibly friendly and we will definitely be returning sometime soon!
The quirky room, outside old stable room.
Staff were very helpful and welcoming.
Stayed the night before our nephews wedding in Peckforton Castle. Definitely prefer the Swan Inn to Peckforton Castle. Well worth the money. Will definitely be staying there again. Thank you
