First of all do not book this property with breakfast included. You basically just pay too much for toast and butter! Nearby town has very nice cafes. Also make sure your room is not damped like our’s was! It was unbelievable!
They never cleaned our room and had to ask four times for fresh towels! The location is very nice but unfortunately the quality of the hotel has dropped significantly since last time we stayed in it! It was a huge disappointment.

Visiting the lake and taking trips around it on boats was fun. There are a lot of restaurants and bars to visit.
Apart from visiting the lake and eating out at restaurants there isn't that much to to do.

It's a beautiful village with an old world feel and friendly people - the gateway to so many other gorgeous villages and the glorious Lake Windermere. Also, the Windermere post office staff were brilliant in helping me send a couple of packages back to Australia, and the cruise people (at Bowness) helped me with sorting out a cruise, and a lovely couple helped me find my way to Sawrey by walking with me along the gorgeous paths. I loved everything about my stay in Windermere!

Only a layover unfortunately, the drive through was lovely.
Only a layover unfortunately, the drive through was lovely. I passed through Ambleside in the evening and it looked to be a charming tourist hikers/backpackers haven of clothing, coffee and book shops. Plentiful walking throughout the entire area through lovely scenery and full of gorgeous large trees, that you don't see to such size in other parts of the country. Namely the spruces, beeches, and cedars. Adds sense of forestry magic to the area.

Windermere and the surrounding villages are beautiful, we stay in the area twice per year normally.
We love the walks between Windermere, Ambleside, rydal and Grasmere. We also enjoy the high quality cafes (Homeground in Windermere and mathildes in Grasmere) and restaurants (Holbeck Ghyll, Lake Road Kitchen) in the area and enjoy the local produce and whisky/gins (Lakes Distillery).
There are frequent busses between Keswick and Kendal stopping at all the villages.
This was my first time visiting the Lake District and I couldn’t have asked for anything better, it was way better than what I had expected!
The food that was served in the restaurant was out of this world, the room was very clean, spacious and had everything we needed.
I would highly recommend the Windermere manor hotel to anyway that decides to visit the beautiful Lake District and I will deffo stay here again next time I’m down :)
Greetings was very welcome from start to finish. Staff is very friendly and profesional. Hotel is very clean and well organised. Breakfast super delicious, presentation luxurious and very well served. Location is just perfect with spacious parking space. Definitely will come back again and recommend to anyone. Thank you to the owners for taking great care of us and effort to make our stay so welcoming.
We had a lovely stay at the Coppice. It is located in the town Windermere and around 20 minutes walk to Bowness on Windermere where you can catch the ferry around the lake and to neighbouring towns such as Ambleside. The hosts were absolutely lovely and thoughtful. We also had access to spa area in the Choices Health Club which was lovely.
Had 2 rooms booked at the hotel, Room 15 Double Room amd Room 17 Family Suite. Both rooms were lovely, Room 17 Family Suite was really spacious even with tje aofa bed made up. Location is excellent, just past the bars, shops of Windermere and 20 min walk to Bowness. Bus stops outside hotel. Breakfasts lovely especially the poached eggs :)
Location is exceptional with super views of Lake Windermere. The older parts of the hotel are lovely - lots of warm wood in Arts and Crafts style. Our newer room (one of the “lodges” was comfortable and very spacious with a good en-suite bathroom. The little spa facility was nice. Breakfasts were ample and delicious.
An absolutely gorgeous hotel! We had a great experience staying there. My room had a great view over the Windermere lake. Staff were professional, helpful and friendly. The restaurant provided excellent food and was cheaper than expected. Overall very satisfied.
The food was excellent and of a very high quality both from the dining room and the bar. The views from our room and the hotel in general were stunning. The continental breakfast was ok. The staff were very friendly and helpfull.
Unfortunately the cover photo of the fabulous jacuzzi overlooking Lake Windermere is £40 extra! Not made clear and anything other than continental breakfast is also extra ! Other than that a fabulous hotel in a great setting
Breakfast very good and well presented waitress was lovely.
Room was very comfy with spa bath
Location was very good, walking distance to restaurants and bars
Parking at hotel was easy and no problem getting parked
Friendly couple, greeted on arrival, delicious breakfast options, able to give advice as to what to see, where to go etc, centrally located between Windermere & Bowness. Would stay here again.
The spa. Well worth staying at the hotel and paying for it. The corridors are a little dated but the rooms are fantastic. Great location….very close to Windermere and Ambleside/Bowness.
Great location with just 2 mins walk from Windermere Station. The room is very clean and quite spacious. No reception but our luggage can be stored at the hotel after check out.
Good location in Windermere and walking distance to Bowness for the lake. The room with bathroom and walk-in cupboard were a good size with a very comfortable king-size bed.
Good position between Windermere and Bowness, warm room and excellent facilities. Host was very good, nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was fantastic. Large carpark.
