A very busy place, even in April. Enjoyed a walk and linger on the beach, the sun was out and it was warm. The food market is an absolute gem, I loved browsing amongst the stalls with their wonderful offerings. I found the Metro easy enough to navigate and it took me to the places, or near to them, that I wanted to go to. Park Guell is beautiful but it was so busy, even early in the morning. I would highly recommend pre booking tickets for the Gaudi attractions well in advance. They do sell out and can't be bought on the day as far as I know. I also used the airport shuttle bus which was quick, very frequent and not too expensive.

You have to love Barcelona! Been there quite a few times and each time it has brought me a different experience. It is a large and vibrant city. Has so much to offer , Gaudi, tapas, shopping, beach, beauty, style and amazing views!! You have to see Sagrada Família , the most amazing church designed by Gaudi!! It is a city you must go and visit! Transport is excellent , it is a place to put on your list of cities to visit.

Barcelona is a beautiful place to visit.
Barcelona is a beautiful place to visit. The tree-lined streets remind you of Paris only it's warmer. Just walking around, looking at the Gaudi architecture and stopping every now and then for tapas is a lovely way to spend a lazy afternoon.
There are plenty of shops and bars in both Las Ramblas and the Gothic Quarter but for a more chilled experience (and better shops) head toward the mountain side of Plaça de Catalunya to either Passeig de Gracia or Rambla de Catalunya. Here you are more likely to be mixing with locals and will find plenty of cool restaurants on the footpath without the hoards of tourists of Las Ramblas.
Whilst in Passeig de Gracia, head to El Nacional Barcelona - you can't miss it as it has its name up in lights - this is a beautiful and huge old art deco hall which contains two restaurants - one fish, one meat, a tapas bar and a cocktail bar all under the one roof. Even if you don't want to eat, it's worth a look inside just to see how gorgeous it is.
Book in advance online (suggest at least a week) to get into the Sagrada Familia or Park Guell - there are no tickets available on the day and both book out early in busy times. There used to be a bit of the park that was free access - this is no longer available unless you are a registered local. There are also good views of the city to be had from the Torre Glòries - which is the big cucumber like building sticking up in the middle of the city.
Lastly, hanging out in Park Ciutadella is nice and you have the nearly spectacular Arc de Triomf nearby as well.

There is always more to see.
There is always more to see. Ww love exploring back roads and off beaten path bars and tapas. Ventured on metor and public buses. Awesomely Gulten Free restaurants, bakeries, beer and tapas. Started with hop on hop off to get bearings and choice must check out spots.
Felt very safe. No problems with anyone. No eye contact with beggers or merchant pushers, simple no thank you and look away. Can't wait to return!!! Low cost! The Main turstist market is higher than other choices but would do again for the experience! Chok is totally GF and things can't get in states.

The places to eat and the food was amazing and everyone was so friendly. Billy Brunch was a favourite! There is so much to do in Barcelona, we crammed in so much with our 2 day Go City Passes (would definitely recommend booking in advance!) We went to the Segrada Familia which is breathtaking, rode the segways, visited Barceloneta Beach, the zoo, Big Fun Museum and Museum of Illusions. Watched a flamenco show at Torantos, had a boat ride on an eco - cattermeran and loads more! Getting around was easy either via metro, taxi or tourist bus. Everywhere is so clean and tidy and the architecture is amazing! Even the pedestrian crossings are well organised. We visited as an adult holiday but after visiting Barcelona I would be more than comfortable to bring my children back for a city break. There's so much to do and the shopping in the Gothic Quarter and La Ramblas is amazing. We loved Barcelona!

Barcelona is great city with lots to do and see.
Barcelona is great city with lots to do and see. And also with great vibe . As business traveler and seeking to see the city after work, there’s always activities one can do. Also transportation is easy, taxi or trains to get around. As colleagues we aimed for best rated things to do in the city, Sagrada Familia, Park Güell and checked out local cuisine and sports bars. Also ease access to Madrid by train or bus and lovely sightseeing and great culture.
It was way to get to main touristic places within 20 minute walk. We liked the airy, large rooms. The shower was great. Lots of complimentary stuff, although only one per person; e.g. one toothbrush was available for a room of two. Staff were so friendly and helpful both at the reception desk and at the restaurant. Breakfast was fantastic, a very large choice and the food was very good quality. We had dinner at the hotel restaurant on the last evening and it was one of the best we had during our stay in Barcelona. It was also the cheapest.
I think I fell in love with Barcelona because of the hotel. As you know sometimes the accommodation can turn your experience either positive or negative about any city you visit. Luckily enough, Sercotel caspe was the best choice I have made among the recent hotels I have stayed at in my last trips. I like the location it is safe and within walking distance to everything. 20 minutes walking to city center .I also like the stuff they were nice and helpful.
First of all, I would like to thank the friendly staff for a pleasant vacation. On vacation, the two most important things to me are a clean bathroom and a comfortable bed. This hotel lived up to those expectations. The location of the hotel is ideal, a few minutes' walk from the metro station and the shopping center, a quiet part of Barcelona. The staff was really wonderful, we got a map of Barcelona and all the tips to get around the city.
From the airport to the hotel we took the public bus as this is the cheapest option (€2,50) p.p. The hotel is nearby the metro station “Sants Estacio”. This is a great plus for moving around the city centre Barcelona. The staff in the hotel were very friendly. If you arrive earlier than check-in time, they will store your luggage for free. Each day your room will also be cleaned. I definitely recommand this place.
Loved our stay at Hesperia Barri Gòtic! Alberto at the front desk was amazing during check in and gave us some extremely helpful information such as a metro map with a map of the city and the best routes to get to the main attractions in Barcelona! Room was very clean and comfortable and the hotel was close to everything! Staff was attentive and helpful, have no complaints! Would definitely stay here again! :)
Staff were incredibly friendly. I came in very late, but staff was able to advice me, greeted me with great energy and support me with the questions.
Safe and amazing location.
Great facilities.
Best hostel I have been!!!
Honestly this was highlight of my trip. Compared to staff in other proper hotels in Spain rude and staff of this hostel were the best people ever!!! Honestly would come back again 100%!
Located in a great location, just 1 min from Metro Station and 25 min by taxi from the airport.
The staff was amazing and helpful.
If you travel to enjoy Barcelona as a city and not to spend your days inside a hotel then this is the perfect place.
I had a room with a balcony viewing the main street, i thought it will be noisy, but was not.
The location of the hostel is very convenient: being very close to a metro station allowed us to comfortably reach the airport and the city center. The room was clean and comfortable, and the staff was helpful. I would recommend this hostel for travelers on a budget who want to easily explore Barcelona.
Location in the city centre, very close to Metro and buses, airport bus as well, very close to barcelona fair. Excellent location.
Hotel is perfect, staff excellent, very high quality/price ratio.
This is the 4th time i go to this hotel and i will go back again in mi next trip.
The staff were very kind and helpful and gave a lot of attention and information I asked for, hotel very clean and breakfast excellent. Rate is good compared to other hotels in Barcelona. Transportation to city center are reachable
Hotel is in a really nice and quite block, and not far away from city center. The room is big, clean and comfirtable, with very well organized every day by hotel stuff. We will absolutly choose this hotel next time in Barcelona!
loved the spa , the room , the design. I will definitely come back , it’s one of the best hotel in Barcelona and I went to 5 stars one that were quite disappointing so this hotel is a really good surprise.
Nice location near the center of Barcelona yet a little more quiet in the late evening than if you stayed in the center! Everything within the city is in walking distance of the hotel!
New hotel in the heart of the city center, nicely furnished, wonderful surrindings, extremly kind and helpful staff.Next time when we come to Barcelona,we plan to stay in the same hotel.
Location was great, breakfast was wonderful.
Hotel was so clean and spacious. Definitely one of our best stays while in Spain. Would book again in a heart beat.
