The Czech capital is nothing short of magical, with Prague’s countless bridges, cathedrals, domes and castles reflected in the Vltava River. Thankfully the city escaped most of WWII’s destruction, leaving the rich history and fairytale façade of this Bohemian city intact.
Prague Castle is the largest ancient castle complex in the world and the St. Vitus Cathedral is a stunning example of Gothic architecture. The Cathedral’s lookout tower rewards those willing to climb 300 steps with the best view of the city.
Walking through the cobblestone streets of the Mala Strana district will bring you to the Charles Bridge. Prague’s beautiful 14th-century monument buzzes with musicians and local crafts sales. The Astronomical Clock, Tyn Church, and Storch building of Old Town compete for popularity with the neoclassical Estate Theatre and the Czech National Museum.
The cafes and restaurants of Wenceslas Square are great for people watching and the Franz Kafka house, the Old New Synagogue and Frank Gehry’s Dancing House are perfect for soaking up history.
Flights arriving at Prague Vaclav Havel International Airport will be in the city centre after a short subway ride. For historic hotels, cheap hostels or charming apartments head to Booking.com for nearly 700 accommodations in Prague.

Excellent quality restaurants,my favourite was the Grand Cru, if you visit Prague I highly recommend you eat here, we had the tasting menu + a lovely bottle of Mikrosvin Riesling Vlassky Lisci Vrch , this wine was so good we bought some at the Global Wine shop about 750 metres from the Colorfactory Spa Hotel. We also dined at the Eatery which was also very good. The river cruises were good, but I would not book the City sightseeing bus tour as you can walk the route in less than 2 hours.

Prague is so famous that it is difficult to write something...
Prague is so famous that it is difficult to write something groundbreaking here. Lots of history, lots of charm, too many tourists and rubbish tourist offers. For less famous places, I recommend the Mucha museum and a walk around Petrin Hill. Avoid buying gifts in tourist shops, especially Havelske Trziste and cannabis shops. Terrible junk. Choose restaurants carefully. There are many places in Prague where you can eat great food and drink excellent craft beer. But the closer you get to the Old Town Square, the more restaurants serving paper food for obscene prices. I recommend Potrefená husa Platnéřská next to Klementinum. High-quality cuisine, good wine list. Among simpler places, the Strahov Monastery restaurant is absolutely unrivaled. Their beer is probably the best in Prague, and not only in my opinion.

Prague is beautiful and I suggest going in comfortable shoes, so you can walk around. The public transport is great. Living in Ireland, I was so impressed with their punctuality. I suggest buying a tram/bus ticket for the whole period you are there because it brings you to all the main tourist places.
We did a guided tour and our tour guide said that would be normal for some waiters and waitresses to be rude. It wasn't our case, everywhere we went, everyone was very polite.
Prague is a city that changes. The morning is beautiful, but the evening time can be more stunning with all the lights on.

I like the convenience of the tram, shops all over, the nice big malls, super high tech payment machine, money changes and convenience of atms everywhere. Specially like the Palladium food court, and other malls with large selection of eateries. I would aviod coming in early spring as it is still not warm.

It is a beautiful cute city with a lot to see and experience. It also feels very safe. The airport is not far from the city centre and can be reached in about 30 min with public transportation.
Advice to travellers: Please make sure to validate your public transport tickets before using buses or trains. I was fined 1000 CZK on a bus despite having a ticket.

Prague has lost a lot from it's vibe.
Prague has lost a lot from it's vibe. In the last 10 years they got rid of the food carts selling great hot-dog with local sausages, instead of great pubs you see more and more starbucks and fast-food chains, you see too many kebab places with pizza instead of traditional hot-dogs.
I got it that marijuana is decriminalized, but weed is shoved in your face on every corner. Every other store is either a kebab place, a starbucks, or a weed shop.
Also it got a lot dirtier, and sadly there are more and more homeless people.
Still, Prague is one of the greatest cities in the EU, it was better, and still could be.
The hotel itself was absolutely beautiful and the room very comfortable with great amenities. There were so many options available at the breakfast buffet and the coffee was delicious. There is free water, tea, cappuccino available in the lobby all day and there is a bar on site. They really think of everything here to make the stay comfortable and enjoyable. It was also very reasonably priced. The hotel is in a central location, just a few minutes walk to the old Town Square. I would definitely recommend and stay here again.
I loved everything about this hotel. It was immaculately clean and always smelt fresh (I guess that's why it's named Hotel Essence)! Breakfast was good and the location of the property was excellent - 5 minutes walk to the Old Town square. The rooms are a great size with an oversize bathroom. However the best thing about this hotel is the Reception staff - they were super friendly and helpful whenever I had any questions. The best trained staff I have come across in my 2 months of travel across Europe😊
Fantastic helpful Paval made us reassured about everything, arranged a taxi from the airport and greeted us on our arrival with lots of helpful advice and information. The room was large with a bath and huge bed , a kettle and mini fridge. Location is perfect right near the Old Town square. Breakfast at Bond cafe offered wonderful plant based milk porridge and tofu toasties for us vegans 🌱. Would definitely recommend this place as an authentic residence if you prefer that rather than a modern hotel .
It was all very good. These guys run a hotel business at scale (19 venues across Prague), so they have a lot of experience with hotels. It was clean. Access control via code. Tea and coffee in the room (although not being replenished for a 5-night stay). The place is located 5 mins away from the Old town square. This is both a pro and a con, because of all the crowds around (room was quiet though). The bed was big and comfortable (3 different size pillows).
All the staff were super nice and helpful. We were travelling with 3 kids and a dog and had plenty of space in our room which was also very clean. We found a complimentary bottle of red wine, one of Rose, a chocolate heart and a hand written note to celebrate Valentine´s Day! Great breakfast and afternoon snack included in the room price. Location is great, 10 min walk to the Old Town Square. Free parking! We had a wonderful stay and recommend the hotel!
Hotel is well located opposite to Central station and major attractions, old town square, Wenceslas square etc. can be reached walking for 10-15 mins Max. It's very convenient. Rooms are basic but has everything that we need. Breakfast was great. Staff is really helpful. They provided me information on where to eat, what to see, where to exchange money etc. They even helped me with changing big amount of CZK into small money. It was a fabulous stay
Room was lovely, overlooking a small square and you could see church towers. The walls are 2 feet thick so very quiet. Reception desk staff were wonderful! Iana was very helpful. We loved the welcome gifts, very thoughtful.
Location of the hotel is perfect. We easily walked everywhere. It is only 75 yards from the old town square. Would definitely stay there, room 22, again.
Breakfast buffet was remarkable.
This is a gem of a hotel in Prague. The room was large and comfortable, breakfast was hearty and service was wonderful. The best thing about it was the location, right next to Old Town Square and Charles Bridge very close by. We easily walked to all the tourist attractions - they were only 20 minutes away at the most. Nice restaurants and shops also were close by.
The hotel was an old bank. The decor was lovely and the rooms were brilliant. The breakfast room was where the old vault was and the door is still there. The bedroom was very clean and we could choose how frequently we wanted it cleaned. The property was about a 15 minute walk to the old town square.
The modern vibe of the hotel (and room) was very pleasent, the check-in process was also very quick. The shower and additional shampoo was of great quality! The room was clean and the location is not too far from the old town square (30 minutes by foot).
All of the staff were lovely and very accommodating, especially Daniel, who made our stay so comfortable. The hotel is in really good proximity to everything - the old town square, shopping, train/bus stations. The room was so clean and comfortable.
Superb location and warm friendly staff. Breakfast was one of the best buffet style offerings experienced in many years travelling and overall the hotel is great value for money and a stones throw away from the old town square
One the best location to stay in Prague i appreciate the hotel staff and there welcome style specially. Its on very prime location 2 minutes walk only to old town square and famous places in Prague. I would recommend everyone.
The hotel is perfectly situated to old town square! Very large and comfortable rooms. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend this hotel for your Prague stay!
Perfect location only 2 minutes walk to the Old Town Square. Very quiet despite a room overlooking the main entrance to the hotel and close to the elevators. Comfortable bed.
Excellent location- literally steps from Old Town Square. Fantastic staff, luxurious room, out of this world breakfast! Amazing hotel to stay right in the heart of the city!
The location is amazing- you are literally 3 minutes from the old town square and 10 minutes from The Charles Bridge. Couldn’t recommend the location of the hotel enough!
