A place we’ll continue to visit after getting married in the Domkirkeodden (cathedral ruins) 10 years ago. It’s peaceful but with plenty to see and do and only 1hr 45 from Oslo. Lake mjøsa is stunning and if you follow the lake trail you’ll find lots to photograph, enjoy the scenery and culture as well (don’t miss the famous Skiblandener which runs during the summer months) There is beaches safe for swimming and lots of great places to eat out. Getting about by foot is easy although some stepper sections but the bus is well connected and easy to use.

Hamar is a clean and friendly city.
Hamar is a clean and friendly city. It is the home of Kirsten Flagstead, the celebrated Wagnerian soprano. Her childhood home is a museum and takes you back to another era . For sports lovers, the speed skating ring which hosted the olympics is definitely worth visiting. Local speed skaters and champions train in the afternoon and anyone is allowed to watch for a small fee.

The town is very nice, but not that "Norwegian Pearl" kind of town...most famous for it's railway museum, there is not that much to see in the town itself. You find many good restaurants and bars in the downtown area and a big shopping center with lots of good stores and places to eat. The thing that I notice the most was that there was a lot of people that still pee out on the street - a lot (a lot!) of marks in the morning, everywhere (disgusting) - I was very disappointed to see such a nice and clean town with people that still has this bad behaviour! ( this was from a Wednesday to a Sunday... and It was made by people, not dogs, ok? ) Very sad to see.
Sweet, helpful, warm staff. Wonderfully, spacious suites; probably both rooms upgraded. Appreciated it! Nice to have a decent bathtub for once. Also nice and unusual to have breakfast and dinner included in the price, although room rate not cheap for Norwegian standards. Nice touch to offer complimentary cakes and coffee/tea from 3 pm to 6 pm. Generally, a sweet atmosphere throughout the hotel (although had to ask twice to heat up the restaurant. Freezing!)
Very comfy small apartment.
Everything was clean and tidy - we even had soaps in the shower - something that is hardly seen nowadays.
It is important to take into account that the hotel is far from the city center and is a 10-minute walk from the nearest bus stop.
I recommend the place.
The hotel is well located for the city and the nearby car park, though not part of the hotel, is extremely reasonably priced. We were greeted by friendly and helpful staff. The room was clean. Basically, this hotel is a reasonable choice if the negatives do not bother you.
The location was in a quieter part of Hamar with a 20ish minute walk into the main town. The facilities were clean with plenty of supplies for a longer stay and with complimentary free wifi and kitchen utensils you are left not needing a thing.
Breakfast was decent. Very nice persons working at this hotel.
It was really hot in the room, like +30 degrees when I entered. The host was helpful and solved it by turning the heat down, but still it was very hot in the room.
Nice room and friendly staff. The dinner and breakfast included in the price was good and made the hotel excellent value for money. We only stayed one night as we were passing by with the car, but would definitely stay again.
The view is probably better than anywhere else in Hamar. The person who checked us in was under trained but very customer friendly, helpful and understanding, although this didn't save our overall experience.
The room was really nice and spacious. Very comfortable bed. Super breakfast!!!
Good parking facilities and petrol station close to the hotel. Staff at the reception are very polite.
