It is said that abundance in Mendoza was so great at the beginning of the 20th century, that the Wine Festival was celebrated pouring this elixir in the city’s fountains and street-side irrigation canals. Located at Mount Aconcagua’s footstep, the city is an oasis in the middle of the dry beauty of the central Argentinean Andes.
Originally inhabited by indigenous peoples, the colonial city was founded in 1561. The irrigation system created by the natives was further developed and became an icon of the city, currently watering near 100,000 trees. The design of the central district includes squares and avenues, and has some of the best luxury hotels in Mendoza.
It is surrounded by vineyards and cellars producing world-class wines. Don’t miss the renowned Malbec variety, and try some of the boutique hotels and rural ‘estancias’ in Mendoza’s wine areas.
Its historic relevance comes from the fact that Argentinean hero José de San Martín prepared here his pioneering crossing of the Andes in 1817, aimed to liberate Chile. This amazing trip with mules and on foot is repeated every year by a group of enthusiasts. The area is actually well-known for mountain sports like hiking, rafting, and skiing.

Mendoza is seems a beautiful city with wide road with huge trees make the place gorgeous. People in general are nice and helpful , plenty places to discover , many activities. I really like Mendoza but never the less the city is to relax shops are completely close Sunday which iis not suitable if you go for weekend and need to buy something. Hotels are expensive and poor services . I would say don’t come to Mendoza just jet until thing improve

Mendoza is a great location for food & wine lovers.
Mendoza is a great location for food & wine lovers. Great vineyards are close by, as is the option to experience a ‘Gaucho’ horse ride & dinner up in the Andes. Lovely town centre with beautiful parks. Great place to visit!

Mendoza was a lovely city, with almost every street having big shade trees. It felt safe to walk around in, with lots of people out in the evening, and so many places to choose from to eat, often all in the same location on both sides of the street for several blocks, so all you have to do is pick one. There's a lot of variation in the quality of the places available to stay, so I would recommend one with a lot of good reviews. There are also a lot of good tours available, to vineyards, horseback riding, the Andes mountains, and more. We were excited to see wild guanacos (a type of llama) at a couple of places in the older, lower mountains!

There are only two cities in the world that I have liked visiting. One is Vienna Austria and the other is Mendoza. I had no idea that I would like the city as much as I did. Tree lined streets and very clean for the most part unlike other cities I have been to. The people were very nice. All the large cities in the USA are awful in this present day. Not Mendoza. I would go back just to spend more time there. You can have New York, Chicago, Atlanta, Houston, etc. Mendoza is well worth a visit.

What I like Mendoza are the amazing tall trees along the streets.
Beautiful parks…plaza independencia (big one)…and there are smaller parks…plaza espana, plaza chile, plaza Italy, plaza San Martin.
There lots of ice cream shops..cheap.
We had an overnight stay during our visit to Mendoza. The hotel is centrally located and the city is quite vibrant. The personnel was quite professional and friendly. The room was quite ok and clean, although a bit dated, and the beds were comfy. We had a window with a view to a small fountain on the 1st floor which I found relaxing but my roommate found annoying. The pool is really small and the gym is tiny and very poorly fitted. All in all, an average 4-star hotel, a bit on the expensive side for what it offers.
Very friendly staff and comfortable room with good AC and wifi. I needed to have my motorcycle serviced in Mendoza, and thought I could take care of myself in a good hotel also. My bike had secured, covered parking and the swimming pool was a plus, after days of walking and hiking to points of interest. Better breakfast than standard in Argentina but what made the difference were the staff: all of them very helpful and friendly. Thank you!
This place literally made our stay in Argentina and made Mendoza the favourite part of our trip. Matias is a star, so friendly and cannot do enough for you. We accidentally left a wallet behind and he arranged for someone to bring it to Chile for us. The atmosphere is just so good, they had an asado with unlimited wine which was great too. The area outside is really cool and we were able to have our own BBQ too. Thank you soooo much.
The aparthotel has quite large rooms, the beds are comfortable, there is a furnished living area, a kitchen corner, and a medium-sized bath. We especially appreciated people at the reception, which were very polite and eager to help. We particularly mention Brian. The location is perfect, close to many restaurants, and to the centre . A very convenient and fast clothes washing and ironing service is available
The hotel room is huge and the bed is simply amazing, top quality bed and pillows. The shower is amazing, very hot and strong. Great amenities in the room, little fridge and great hair dryer. The staff was helpful, there was an issue with our reservation and they were prompt to solve it. There is heating, including the flirt and for towels in bathroom so soruper cozy.
Every aspect of our stay was excellent, starting with the communication after the booking to the morning we departed. La casa de Chiqui is a must stay, particularly if staying in Mendoza for multiple nights. The home is located in a quiet, residential area. It is well equipped and looked after. The parking is covered, safe and secure. Past reviews say it all.
The location is perfect, 10 min walking from Mendoza Bus Terminal, good places to eat and drink nearby, good prices around also.
The staff is GREAT! Very nice people!
Breakfast is excellent for the price, a lot of bathrooms, bed is comfy and the locker works fine.
The laundry service was perfect, very cheap and they delivered my clothes in 30 minutes.
Very comfortable and spacious. Second story location of the bed gives a very special feel. All facilities are in place.
Location is good and safe, if not walkable to everything you need, then public transport (or taxi) helps you very quick.
We liked the place and would book it again next time we are in Mendoza.
Great location, right in the city center of Mendoza. Perfect to walk around and move in the city. Many places to eat close to the property. Juan the owner was more than a host, you'll have a friend in Mendoza. We really appreciated he waited for us in the apartment because our plane arrived at mid night.
Clean, comfortable hotel. Nice breakfast. Very helpful and friendly staff. It's a good location for walking around Mendoza but the city itself doesn't have much to offer. Small roof terrace with pool was very welcome and had a phone facility to order drinks and snack. Good value for what we paid
We LOVED our stay at Tanino Guest House and could not recommend it enough for those visiting Mendoza. It’s perfectly located (5 minutes from the park and walking distance to bars/restaurants), and the property itself was amazing. Clean, beautiful and the breakfast was fantastic!
The staff at the fuxia hostel was very accommodating and helped us with all of our questions we had about Mendoza. They went the extra mile to book a reservation for me and my fiancee's engagement dinner and really made the trip wonderful. Excellent room for what you paid for.
