Spanning 11 kilometres between the Adriatic Sea and one of the most famous lagoons in the world, Lido is a narrow and long island located just in front of Venice’s Old Town. Beach resorts, hotels and private villas replaced the vegetable gardens 160 years ago that provided tranquil settings for poets and writers like Lord Byron and Thomas Mann.
Probably one of the first beach resorts in the world, its first facility opened in 1857 and soon became a success. Nowadays, it constitutes a peaceful suburb that claims its golden past once a year during the Film Festival, and offers a quieter setting for your accommodation than central Venice.
There are actually three different villages on the island. Lido itself is located in the north, and includes most of the hotels and the Venice Casino. The smaller Malamocco and Alberoni are situated to the centre and south respectively. The sea-facing side of Lido Island is a succession of sandy beaches, mostly belonging to different resorts and hotels.
Gran Viale Santa Maria Elisabetta is the island’s main street, leading from the ‘vaporetto’ water bus pier to the sea. There are buses running on the island, while direct waterbus links to Venice Marco Polo Airport are also available.

Very close to the buzzing city of Venice (only minutes by Vaporetto) but away from all the noise and crowded streets. Perfect place to relax in the evening. Very nice restaurants, B&Bs and even a beach where you can sunbath and swim. We used to stay in Venice but now we always stay here.

Feels like a typical Italian village, but it's only a ten minute boat ride to piazza San Marco. It's quiet, but elegant. The bars and restaurants I tried - on the main boulevard and along the canal - were excellent.

I have stayed on the fabulous island of lido several times as I love it there and it only takes 20 minutes to get to Venice by vaporetto boat, the island has many very good hotels, apartments, restaurants, bars, shops and a great long beach where there is the wonderful blue moon beach bar, there is a wonderful relaxing vibe to the island, where the vaporetto boat arrives you can get buses or taxis around the island and you can get a boat from Marco polo airport which takes about 50 minutes.

I didn't go to the beach, I went to a ceremony in the Palazzo del cinema. Lido is a quiet place with beautiful houses and a beach. You can see the sunset from the water front and Venice which was very pretty. I heard that it's quite dead in winter time, but end of September was perfect, quiet but still lively.

Lido is not Venice in the sense we are used to.
Lido is not Venice in the sense we are used to. This is the beach area of the Venetian Lagoon, but the quality of beach holidays is clearly inferior to other places. Therefore, who wants to visit Venice itself must go to another island of the Venice Lagoon. But for a beach holiday it is better to choose another place.

I'm so happy we chose to stay on the Lido Island versus on Venice mainland. When we took the hotel complimentary boat to St Marks, we saw people rolling their luggage through the cobblestone streets, steps and bridges to get to their hotels. Not to mention all the people walking around with the noise, etc. The hotels on Venice looked small, and from what I understand, not a lot have AC.
As far as night life on Lido, we walked to a few restaurants only to be turned away because we didn't have reservations when the restaurants were clearly empty. We did find a nice restaurant called Valentino, it was very good and the staff were amazing. We met a staff member from the hotel and he took us to the locals night life. It was so nice, there is not a dumpy area at all on the Lido-Venice, just be sure to make reservations.
The hotel was nice and very good value for money. As we had already stayed in Venice this second stay suited our budget well. Breakfast was nice and served in the garden as weather was nice. Reception made restaurant recommendations and reservations which was helpful until we found our way around. Rooms are not luxurious but perfectly clean and pleasant so if you looking for more you will pay more elsewhere. This hotel was a 5 minute walk to the beautiful beaches on this island. The staff are wonderful and very helpful.
Absolutely wonderful hotel. Amazing location and views across the lagoon to Venice.
Breakfast was really good, lots of choice and quality in the buffet and even the option of prosecco!
Room was large and comfortable. The staff could not have been friendlier or more helpful.
The location is perfect just close to the vaporetto stop for the 15min boat ride into Venice and close to restaurants, shops, etc...
Lido is lovely, quieter, and more open and airy than Venice, and there's the added bonus of the sandy beach.
Room was clean and cosy and the staff were excellent especially when we had a few requests. The breakfast was good if a little basic but met our needs perfectly. The hotel is about a 15 minute walk from the boat jetty and the walk always felt very safe even late into the evenings. It was nice to be a little distance from super busy Venice and it was a an absolute luxury to have a beautiful beach but 200m from the hotel. We were very happy with our stay and it was a great value for money. Would stay again!
The building was easily located, close to pubic transport.
The staff/hotel/reception were welcoming & informative (even before we arrived - providing comprehensive details of how to reach the hotel).
The hotel itself was spacious, clean, bright and airy (both the communal spaces & room/en suite -
Just what is needed in hot locations) -
Everything was easy and accessible - even the breakfast was no FAFF - & fairly priced.
the facility was modern and we could have enjoyed the common living room and garden. There are only few groups of guests and you can enjoy very relaxing stay. I also booked Svenicetour(the private tour by the owner of the hotel). You can ask him whatever tour you would like to have. After having sightseeing in Venice main island, Lido is a definitely a lovely place to have peaceful days. I would love to stay one more week here😌
Lovely ambience and friendly hotel staff.
comfortable family suite well equipped also with a fitted kitchen and air conditioned rooms.
walkable to all reach points say ferry port, restaurants or shopping.
Highlight of the hotel would be just a few 100 meters away from the beach which was just across.
On the whole we had a nice comfortable and relaxing stay and looking forward to coming back again.
If you want to visit Venice then Lido is best to stay. Lido is a small Island just minutes away from Venice. It is peaceful and beautiful. Viktoria Palace hotel is on the best site of Lido. On the map it seems a little far from center and that is what we were thinking but in fact it is on best location. You can move around on foot, on bus or on bicycles. Beach is just some steps away.
Lido di venezia is the best of Venice 15 minutes from St. Marques square and within 10 minutes from the beaches. The Beaches are beautiful (check for availability) The district is not crowded, very calm exspecially if you compare it to the crowded downtown of Venice. The hotel is in a nice alley. Beatiful and peaful location. The staff was very kind and helpful. We enjoyed the stay.
The friendly staff were extremely helpful and made my stay with them a joy.
The room was excellent and clean, and the breakfast (and breakfast service) very good.
I did go cycling with a bike hired from the Hotel, was good.
The location was close to local restaurants and local shops, a good swimming beach and public transport
Beautiful hotel, perfectly located and exceptional service with very friendly and accommodating staff. We were able to park on-site and the ferry to Venice is right in front of the hotel, which made the commuting to the hotel very easy. We could not have picked a better place!
I loved my stay! I was pleasantly surprised when I entered the room and saw that it was a larger room than I booked! The hotel itself is beautiful, a gorgeous villa with a garden and lots of comfortable places to sit. My room was very clean. Will definitely be back. Grazie!
La Meridiana was a nice place to stay for weekend trip to Lido di Venezia. It is in a great location adjacent to the beach and is not a far walk to get to the main tourist area of Lido. The staff at the hotel is very friendly. Recommend this hotel to others visiting Lido.
The hotel has its own character, it’s very nice. The location and breakfast was brilliant 🤩 very quiet area. From the hotel stairs down- left going towards beach 15 min walk. Going to the right towards water buses - no 1 to Venice Centre, 15 min only.
Great location; friendly staff. Hotel is a bit aged and classic room was a bit dated, grubby and bed not that comfortable, but it was perfectly fine. Not awful, not amazing, but perfectly fine. 2 mins to main restaurants and shops, 7 mins to the beach.
Clean and stylish rooms, great location if you are ok to stay on Lido island, it’s right on the opposite side of the water bus station. Easy to access from the airport. Price is much lower than similar hotels on the ‘main’ island.
Beautiful old villa in a lovely quiet location with views of the waterways. Public, beach about 7 minutes walk. The hotel staff were fantastic and made us feel welcomed..Breakfast was very good.I look forward to returning
The hotel close to the central water-bus station, stuff was great, property is clean, meeting morning on the balcony of the room was beautiful and peace, you can find a lot of restaurant and shops around the hotel.
The staff was awesome! The location of the hotel on the beach was beautiful. The room was very clean and comfortable for us. Breakfast was nice in the morning with good coffee.
