A good base for day trips to San Sebastián/Donastia to the east (a city of beauty, elegance and tourist-friendly amenities), Santander and Santillana Del Mar to the west. Bilbao is a quite pleasant city as well especially the riverbank area.

A fantastic city.
A fantastic city. A brilliant museum, some great architecture, a fantastic football club with a museum that would put premier league clubs to shame. Bars and restaurants everywhere and some of the best food I have eaten. Third time here and can not get enough.

We loved Bilbao.
We loved Bilbao. It has many places to visit, it is completely walkable, however, if one prefers, it has so many means of transportation for all tastes and standards. Good food, many parks, great for families.

Stayed in the Old Town. Great bars and restaurants.
Stayed in the Old Town. Great bars and restaurants. Great for people watching and I felt very safe. I was a female lone traveller aged 64! Did a lot of walking and the place had a real Buzz about it. Visited the Guggenheim. Fantastic to see and I did go in, felt I had to having travelled all that way, Waste of time that was. I'm obviously a complete philistine because if that's art I'm a monkey's granny! Went on the funicular railway (did that in San Sebastian too). I would go back to Bilbao and liked it better than San Sebastian but I loved that too.

Great old city. easy to take day trips.
Great old city. easy to take day trips. But please think twice about traveling around easter - north of Spain celebrates it seriously and there is almost nothing open, even hard to find warm food at the restaurants for full week.

Nice city to visit and enjoy.
Nice city to visit and enjoy. Good city infrastructure, new, modern and functional. Good public transport (tram, metro, bus), nice pedestrian walkway and bikeway along both sides of the river. Outstanding museum Guggenheim, more for the building architecture itself than by the content. City cultural center underused demands a visit. Overall city architecture and urban planning are a must to whom appreciates such aspects, including nice parks spread around. Old city is also a must to visit. Not forget the local gastronomy, with the Pintxos bars and restaurants.
The hotel team was very friendly and helpful for every request. There were also nice personal touches which came as a nice surprise (for example handwritten welcome letter written in the language of my national card as well as a note on my birthday although I didn't specifically mention to the team I was celebrating my birthday). The hotel is also in a great location and the room and amenities were high end but without creating a stuffy atmosphere. I would definitely come back to this hotel next time I go to Bilbao.
We were there for one day, it was great for the purpose, just a quick trip day + remote work.
I wanted to make this review specially for the unforgettable staff. The people who assist us were always 5 stars - with the garage car parking situation, with last minute help with specific concerns, suggestions ands tips for Bilbao, and even a late tea (which I was feeling super sick and there was nothing open). I have to say: TOP location and TOP staff, the hotel itself is ok.
It was superb. Nice and cool in the hotel as we were there during a heatwave. The hotel is in a perfect position with a short walk to the old town and across the pedestrian bridge to some lovely restaurants and bars. We ate in the hotel which was good and the breakfast was superb. Our room was good with air con, great shower mini fridge and comfy bed. Didn’t have a view as such but didn’t matter. We loved Bilbao and the staff were really pleasant.
We loved Bilder Boutique Hotel, where we stayed 7 nights on our trip to Bilbao. The Hotel is located on a great site, close to train and bus station and the old town and the bridges, all in a walkable distance. The room was excellent, recently renovated, the stuff was very friendly and we could communicate in English with all of them. We will visit Bilbao again and choose to stay in Bilder Boutique Hotel!
Excellent location as travelled via coach. The hotel is located directly above Bilbao Intermodal station and entrance is around the corner.
All tourist destinations are within walking distance - 2 mins to San Mames stadium, 20 mins to Guggenheim, 30-40 mins to old town.
Swift check in and very nice room, modern and beautiful with large flat screen TV on wall.
Comfy bed and superb shower.
We had a quick stay in Bilbao but the Pension hotel was perfect for what we wanted! Good communication, I received all necessary codes a few days in advance with pictures so the room was easy to find. Not quite in the main part of the city so it’s nice and quiet but restaurants and stores all around and a quick walk over the bridge for nightlife and to visit the old town.
Lovely hotel with very good breakfast. Friendly and helpful staff everywhere -reception, room service, housekeeping, restaurant! Received a complimentary room upgrade. We usually prefer staying in Old Town quarters but we’re so glad we chose to stay in Abando…
Our experience in Bilbao was superb!
Staff is very helpful. Good location - just nearby old town. Tram and bus stops near by. Cafes and bars and grocery stores nearby - no point to take hotel's relatively expensive breakfast. Considering high price levels of Bilbao's hotels Sirimiri seems to have ok price/quality ratio.
We had a large room on the eighth floor with a large balcony and great views of Bilbao. The room had everything one needed and the hotel was very well placed for walking to the old town and cathedral, to the indoor market, to walks along the river to the Guggenheim museum.
Great hotel in the centre of the old Town of Bilbao.
The staff were really friendly especially the young man who explained how to use the room safe.
Very clean and it had a small rest room/ kitchen for everyones use.
Will stay there again!
The location of the hotel is excellent - 15 mins from the old center and 15 mins from the new and the Guggenheim museum.
The room was basic a bit old style and a bit small but overall it was clean and ok for some nights in Bilbao.
This was perfect hotel for 1 night stay pre ferry trip home to uk
Good location as on edge of town. We walked in in about 15 mins downhill and taxi back after lovely meal in Bilbao old town. Would def stay here again
Location excellent in the heart of Bilbao's old town. As this was a 'boutique' pension no breakfast was provided but there were excellent cafes nearby. Bedroom was very comfortable. Staff were polite and helpful.
Everything! This is absolutely the best place I have stayed in out of many different sorts of apts and hotels over the past couple of months. Plus, Bilbao is an unexpectedly nice place to visit.
The hotel is centrally located in Bilbao - easy to walk everywhere. The room was very quiet and bed very comfortable. Big plus is parking onsite. Breakfast is very generous with lots of variety.
very good location if you want to explore Bilbao bay foot but still don’t want it to be noisy. outside bar, bar, parking in the hotel, breakfast with a very good variety.
It was in a great location for everything in Bilbao.the hotel it self is beautiful modern and the rooms are nice and big with very good ac and bathrooms
