The colorful and charming gem that is Girona is on the banks of where the Ter, Onyar, Galligants and Güell rivers meet. Girona is protected by fortifications and features a remarkable medieval center along with several fine Romanesque and Gothic buildings.

Walk the City Walls - there is no charge for this and the views are stunning.
The cathedral is also a must - and don't forget to visit the cloisters, plus the museum with its 11C tapestry illustrating the Bible.
The Art Gallery is worth a visit, especially if you have an interest in religious art.
The Jewish Museum is also interesting.

Close to Barcelona, Girona is a very nice destination for 2-3 days. The city is compact, very beautiful with interesting story. Apart from the medieval and historic monuments, there is a cinema museaum and a lot of stores with manga, comics, toys nice for teenagers.

We visited 4 cities on our trip to Portugal and Spain.
We visited 4 cities on our trip to Portugal and Spain. My travel companion and I both rank Girona at the top of our list. We loved the hotel and the location and spending time in the old city. We had a wonderful guide we booked through the tourism office located in the town. Her name was Judit. She was amazing. Food and restaurants were very good.

Great feel about the place.
Great feel about the place. The old city was interesting, well kept and busy. At the same time it was perfectly possible to turn off the main thoroughfares, away from the tourist spots and lose yourself in a quiet cobbled street.
The old quarter was populated with cafés and bars to suit all tastes and budgets. No problem finding good service from breakfast time to dinner.
The old city is small enough to easily to walk around - there are a few steep hills and steps. For the more adventurous a great (free) walk around the old city walls.

We really liked Girona , a lovely , easy to navigate city with plenty to see and lots of places to relax. We went to the Jewish Museum which was excellent as was Casa Maso (you need to book) , an elegant house with so much interest and tour is with a guide who really get you into the feeling of the place. There is plenty more to do but that is for another time !
It is the small family type hotel. It is located in the heart of the old town of Girona. All the historical sights are near by. The hotel is very beautiful! The room we had was in authentic style with wooden carved furniture and stylish and modern bathroom. There is a small, but very beautiful terrace on the roof of the hotel with the view of the Girona cathedral. Good breakfast: not a lot choice, but enough for a good breakfast. Products were fresh and delicious. 100% recommended. With pleasure we will visit this hotel again.
Great location. It’s close to everything including parking options. Washer/drier worked great. Kitchen amenities were suffice; we cooked breakfasts and appreciated the espresso machine and hot water kettle. For being in the middle of town it’s pretty quiet. Yes there are church bells but we thought they were charming. You pick up the keys at a nearby hotel which was helpful to ask their staff for directions and info upon arrival. Once Flateli is in the office they’re helpful too and just around the corner.
I like that they have provided beautiful decoration in our room for our honeymoon and I really appreciate the effort that the staff has provided in ensuring that we had a great stay. I also love the overview of the Girona skyline at the top of the of the hotel. Luckily we have our own private transportation otherwise we will have to climb up the slope to the building every time we head down. Free parking is also lovely. Overall a recommended stay.
The hotel is nice, in the center of the city, at the walking distance from the old town and the cathedral. The minimum comfort is ensured, the room was very clean, all the room amenities in place. We've checked-in late on Christmas' eve with no hotel staff in place, but the indications received have been very accurate and easy to follow.
I actually did like the location. It's incredibly near a park that has a buffet restaurant that serve vegetarian food. So, if I hadn't stayed here I would've never know. I didn't mind the 20 minute walk to the old side of Girona, either.
The bed was the best bed I've slept in Spain, so far. (Take into account that I like soft beds!)
Old style middle class European hotel. Staff are friendly and helpful. The hotel has an outstanding location, one block from the train station/bus station, on a quiet, yet lively street. The famous old town of Girona is a ten minute walk. Our bathroom was modern and efficient. The hotel lobby is cozy and comfortable.
It was a clean, modern hotel with no-frills, the staff were really helpful and friendly and the hotel was really well situated, being just a 5 minute walk from Girona's old town. If what you want is a comfortable bed and a clean, modern bathroom in a good location and at a good price, this hotel will take some beating.
The location is excellent, just a few blocks from Girona's medieval area. There's a nice cocktail lounge on the terrace, excellent buffet breakfast, best so far of all the hotels in this little corner I've stayed in Catalonia. Best of all the amiable and professional staff.
The hotel was centrally located just a 5 minute walk from Independence Square. It was well appointed and appeared to have had a recent upgrade.
There is a lovely roof terrace bar with good views of the old town cathedral.
Breakfast was excellent with a good choice.
Great location just over the bridge from the old town. Spacious bedroom, comfy bed, decent sized bathroom, good shower. Outstanding meal in the hotel restaurant which is staffed by chefs and waiters trained at nearby 1 star Michelin restaurant.
The Location is great if you travel by train. The hotel is just a few minutes walk from Train station. The opposite is grocery store which opens 24 hrs. The hotel in on the shopping street and can walk to the old town in 10 mins.
An affordable hotel, just a 20 minute walk to Girona Old Town. Lovely clean rooms, friendly staff and great food. The swimming pool is a good size and the outdoor space is ample. Liked the honesty bar. Would highly recommend.
The accommodation was perfect. The room was huge, well-equipped, comfortable, and very nicely presented. More of a studio apartment than a hotel room. The location was ideal for visiting Gerona – especially the museums.
High quality, well located hotel. Railway and bus station nearby, a short stroll to the old town. Bars and restaurants in the vicinity. Good breakfasts. Comfortable beds.
For me this is a hotel that deserves more than 3 stars. I am always surprised by the quality of the rooms, of food in the restaurant and the kindness of it's employees
