The local area is good for restaurants, vineyards, activities like boat trips and horse riding. There are some interesting historical sites (castle and bronze age settlement) close by. I really wish we could have stayed for longer than a week to see more of the locality. The bus can be a bit hit and miss, but a really cheap way to access the north of the island, Fira and Oia.

Beautiful area. Wonderful restaurants in the village.
Beautiful area. Wonderful restaurants in the village. Loved the Venetian castle which has coffee and food. You must visit the ancient city. The locals over all were very friendly and helpful. Please note-there are a lot of homeless animals. Be prepared for it.

Akrotiri is a small place in the southern part of the island of Santorini, from which one can see the caldera and also experience beautiful sunsets. There is a small supermarket and a clothing store as well as restaurants and an art shop there. Also important are the Akrotiri Castle and the proximity to the Red Beach and the archaeological site, which can be reached on foot. There are also horses nearby that you can ride to the beach. Megalochori, a small beautiful village nearby, can be reached by bus to Fira. An ideal place to enjoy the sun in the south and to do tours of the island from there.

This area of Santorini was just perfect for us.
This area of Santorini was just perfect for us. Memorable views, from the caldera to the sunset, Oia & Fira in the distance.
The archeological site and the Lost Atlantis museum are very close for a jump into myth and real history of the island. The best beaches for snorkling are in this southern coast, between Vlichada and the Lighthouse. Many family run restaurants, super markets and amenities are at reach. And the Horst Riding experience with a wild gallop on the eros beacj is roght there .. strongly recommended.

I liked the fact it was close to facilities which l forgot to mention before! Supermarket, restaurants, (loved Porto Bello restaurant), cafes & chemist etc! Also car hire available! All short walk away!
Enjoyed a trip to the ancient archeological site & the museum of The Lost City of Atlantis! Also Red beach & Caldera! Lovely catamaran boat cruise round island with bbq & wine although l ghoughg bit pricey.
My husband and I stayed at the White curves for our honeymoon and we could not have been happier. From the moment we got there, we felt welcomed. Breakfast served in front of our room with sea view. The home keeper was extremely nice and went above and beyond to make sure our needs were met. We were welcomed with wine and a beautiful view. The room is spectacular. Clean and very well equipped. Lots of good recommendations were given to us. If you are going to Santorini, I 100% recommend satins at the White curves. You won’t be disappointed.
The hotel is in the perfect location in Santorini. It is really quiet and feels like a wellness retreat but then all local towns are close by for food and drinks. The hotel and interior has a calming feel and the views are some of the best on the islands. Food incredible, all staff couldn’t have done any more for us. They were all welcoming, happy and really great people. We travelled the island a fair amount and were always glad to return to the peace and quiet of Coco Mat Hotel and Akrotiri
The hotel is so beautiful! The view is like the pictures. The best view in santorini! I didn’t want to leave the hotel. It has everything!! The rooms are so cute and perfect. It’s such a silent hotel!!! U can even leave your door open. Nothing happens. Such a safe and clean hotel. This is the place to relax and chill!! The staff is also very helpful and so kind! The breakfast is AMAZING!! they bring whatever you like and are so kind. I really would like to come back to this hotel!
Brand new stunning hotel with breathtaking views overlooking the caldera of Santorini. We enjoyed our private jacuzzi but also the huge infinity swimming pool. The best aspect of this hotel is its location. It is situated in a peaceful place of Akrotiri, awayfrom the crowds of Fira and Oia. Elizabeth and the rest of the staff were always with a smile ready to ensure to make our holidays perfect
We had the most enchanting experience during our stay at the Black Diamond Suites Hotel in Santorini. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality that exceeded all expectations. The attention to detail throughout the hotel was truly impressive, and it's clear that the managers, Kostas and Anna, have poured their hearts into creating a haven of luxury and comfort.
We had an amazing time at this property. The staff was amazing, caring, and provided some great recommendations. I have stayed at multiple hotels all over the world and this one of my favorite ones! The Greek breakfast was amazing, but the staff made this place even more special. If you are coming to Santorini do not hesitate when booking this place.
10 stars are not enough for this place. Exceptionally clean, and jacuzzi as well perfect clean. Size of room for couple is great.
Spiros the owner is very friendly and helpful, and helped us with things to do in Santorini.
Akrotiri village is great.
The place is very quite and the view is astonishing. We will definitely go back...
Incredible view overlooking the volcano and the rest of Santorini from the room as well as the rest of the place.
The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful.
A pretty quiet location where you didn't hear much noise from outside the hotel.
Closely located to a beach and busses that connects you to the rest of Santorini.
It's a nice hotel with lovely views of Caldera and breakfast was generous and delicious. It's a small hotel and managed by friendly staff. We always picked Akrotiri area to stay in Santorini as its away from the hustle and bustle of main villages of Oia and Fira. The reception manager Alexandra was very helpful and friendly.
The view was spectacular! We loved the location - we preferred to not be in the middle of Oia. The Santorini View property was the perfect location for us - we drove to Oia and enjoyed an evening out. The next day we took a short drive some ruins in the opposite direction.
Sigal Villa is a nice place on the top of Akrotiri, managed by a super kind and smily family. Let Anna suggest you some greek restaurants and Ellie explain to you all the possible experiences that Santorini offers!
The pool and the breakfast are very ejoyable.
The location is amazing right beside the sea and in a less touristy/spoilt part of Santorini but in walking distance to restuarants and bus stop right outside. We also walked to the local village of Akrotiri which is also very pleasant
Staff were friendly and it was in a more quiet town on Santorini which was nice. You must go to Punta Castelli for a meal if you stay here! The local bus stops just down the road which is handy and there is a beach in walking distance.
Very clean, very comfortable bed, great WiFi, quiet location with only a 5 minute walk into Akrotiri town, wonderful views, great for couples.
Would be my first choice in santorini if and when I get to return.
Its a quaint location with sweeping views. The top floor offers a great place to watch the morning Sun and enjoying the beauty of Santorini. House is well equipped and the breakfast was excellent!
Nice quiet family run Hotel on a quieter part of Santorini. We enjoyed being away from the crowds. A rental car is a necessity. Definitely a good value on expensive Santorini Island.
We had the pleasure to be upgraded. The flat was very clean. Stunning view! Nice staff.
The hotel is located in a place with a lot of buildings under construction (santorini fame).
