Eureka had some cute shops and we had dinner at a really good restaurant called Sea Grill. It's close to the Redwoods, with all kinds of things to see and places to hike, and many beaches on the ocean, with beautiful views.

We went to visit the zoo.
We went to visit the zoo. It was a great experience to see the animals at the zoo. We walked the elevated walk in the zoo up in the giant trees and saw a nature walk outside the zoo. We asked about that walk in the cafe at the zoo. We walked the nature walk outside the zoo and it was so peaceful.

Charming downtown area. Many choices of good live music. Friendly safe atmosphere - that small town feeling. All kinds of interesting shopping and a variety of places to eat. Enjoyed some delicious seafood while also enjoying a view of the bay.

Upon arriving in Eureka, a sense of gratitude can be felt,...
Upon arriving in Eureka, a sense of gratitude can be felt, as travel to this sea-side city isn't a simple trek. Either way one might enter, the city offers many dining options as well as plentiful booking opportunities if one plans on staying for more than a day. Traveling Dashers and gig workers be warned, there is VERY limited work opportunity here including the sister city of Fortuna. Scheduling in advance may be helpful, however if one relies on their delivery work as a means of paying for fuel and room, things can become grim fairly quickly if not prepared.
For those not concerned by societal pre-requisits, the city is host to many fun experiences for outdoors enthusiasts / those seeking oceanside treks. Coastal exploration is seemingly integrated into the cities overal design and makes for much of the history which it has been built upon.
There are some big name shopping outlets to be explored, like Walmart and The Home Depot to name a couple. And with that said, one can also expect to encounter the more poverty ridden social classes in abundance (I say this with respect to the lesser fortunate, as I myself am without a home nor a place to wash clothes or shower even). I will not sugar coat the reality of what one may find in their travels to Eureka, as I believe that genuine reviews with honesty and realism bring about positive change (or we can only hope so).
All in all, if you're just traveling the coastal highways and learning to find yourself once again, Eureka is a much needed stop along your route. Whether to fuel up and move out onward wherever, or stay a night or more, here one can always find what they're looking for.

So I went down to vollunteer/work at the Redwood Coast Music Festival and get a mini vacay and do some travelling. The music is fabulous at this venue. The people are friendly, and nice. I love the old architecture buildings and homes and I wish I would of had more time to explore this trip before heading back up. Next time I will have a more thought out itinerary. The Veterans Memorial Building is beautiful. So is the Eureka Theatre. I pretty much brought my own food and a hot plate because I was on a budget. Other than a cheeseburger I got to share with my dog...and she loved that. The motel is dog friendly...I like that alot. I take my dog everywhere when I travel. Gas is a little spendy right now. I am amazed that gas is cheaper in Idaho 4.11 Oregon 5.60. yet over 7.00 on the coast for regular when California is on the ocean and quicker to shipping.
This is one of the most modern chain hotels I’ve ever seen. Beautifully decorated, sleek and fun vibe. There is a great lobby with a fireplace and big screen TVs with numerous tables set up. You can play games, sit and read or just gather with your travel mates.
The bedding was super comfy. The pool and hot tub were great. The staff was super friendly and helpful. We’ve stayed in a couple of hotels in Eureka and have never been impressed. Believe me when I say you will not be disappointed in this place.
I felt spoiled. The accommodations had all the creature comforts and then some! Breakfast was unbelievable!!! Delivered in a beautiful basket, Mexican frittata, corn tortilla, green chili sauce, fruit and yogurt. Fresh O.J., cream for coffee, and bottled water in the fridge. The place is beautifully decorated, has an electrical fireplace to warm you. And a towel warmer!!! Don't think you could find a better Bed and Breakfast!
We were stunned by the tastefully chosen decoration in this historic building. You can feel the love for detail that went into its interior, including our spacious guest room. After dinner enjoyed a drink the the spacious hall with its impressively decorated glass ceiling.
Complimentary coffee, tea and yoghourt is available for breakfast.
The hotel staff was very friendly. Plenty of free parking is available.
On the way to Oregon, the overnight stop in Eureka turned out to be more fun, comfortable and charming than I had expected. I rented a free-standing, well-built wood cabin with a double bed and bunk beds. I was able to have my dog at no extra cost. There is a porch! and a firepit/picnic table. Communal restrooms, with enclosed showers, were extremely clean and large.
The room and building were very comfortable. It is not often that I find a hotel that gives me both value and comfort, and this one satified both. The bed was very comfy and I could tell that the facilities were well taken care of. Also, I appreciated the security of having the building accessible with the key card and that all room entrances were inside the building.
Nothing. This area is awful. I did not feel safe here. When I arrived there were 3 men in the parking lot waiting and on their phones, it looked like either prostitution or drug related activities weee taking place. I did not park my car and get out because of this, so I left to find another hotel. They need security in their parking lot.
Room was a quick walk behind old town Eureka, with lots of beautiful Victorian architecture, shops, street art and walks along the riverside. Free parking under the building, protected from the elements.
There is a cute divey-looking bar next door, attached to the building. We didn't stop in but it's there.
Danny at reception gave us a very warm welcome and provided info regarding our room and location. Room was spacious, comfortable and very clean. Location to waterfront was excellent. The whole hotel setting was pleasant with how rooms are laid out and we liked that the parking was below the rooms.
It was an incredible facility with an oasis hidden in the middle of the city, pool, hot tub, limousine, quiet, modern and secluded. Aaron at the front desk was exceptional and gave us a warm welcome. I can’t wait for my next stay at this location… easily the best hotel in Eureka
The room was clean, and the staff friendly. We only stayed one night because we were traveling north, and literally just spent the night. It's ok for a motel, but if I were to go back to Eureka I'd search for another place.
Our room was nice, the bed comfortable and breakfast was great, the location and overall presentation of this hotel is very nice, but our room had a fruity smell of drug use that permeated everything.
Excellent older hotel with restaurant and bar, Smoking area and with ample parking. Walking distance to restaurants and bars as well as water front. Pet friendly. Highly recommend.
