The room was very clean, and the bed was comfortable.
Breakfast was good. Waffles, cereal, muffins, bagels & toast. Coffee & juices.
I would stay here again.

The suite was perfect for our family of four, and we appreciated the close access to the pool and breakfast! The staff was so friendly, but more importantly, everything was incredibly clean. Thank you for making our winter family vacation and first family ski trip very comfortable!
The entry doors to the outside were not secure. Early in the morning I saw a gentleman who appeared to have slept in his car go to the end of the building and out of sight. I was uncomfortable with this behavior and was glad we were leaving that morning since the outside doors were accessible.

There wasn't much in the way of family activities, but I wasn't there for that or truly looking for that.
Finding a place to eat in the morning was a bit of a challenge. But where we did eat meals the food was good.
The main attraction is the Cross in the woods. that I'm aware of.

Nice quaint little town. Centers around the river.
Nice quaint little town. Centers around the river. River tubing and The Cross in the Woods are their main tourist attractions. We dined at the family restaurant across from the tubing rentals. Good hometown food unfortunately I can't remember the name. 🤔 Only 25 minutes from Mackinac City and the straights of Mackinac.

it had a small town feel but it had lots to do. loved the location. could get to everything we wanted to go see. If you like outdoor activities there was something for everyone. there is also some cute shops.
Burt lake is really nice for swimming, boating and fishing, has a really nice beach. We also loved eating at Wilson's rivers edge restaurant. the food is good and homemade.
Staff was friendly and accommodating. The room was huge and very clean. I'm picky about showers (water pressure, temperature, enough space), and this bathroom delivered. Wifi was reliable. Wish I had booked another night to further explore the parks and trails nearby. I didn't make use of the room's fireplace or the common area outdoors (chairs and fire pit), but I thought they were both nice amenities. I liked the exterior rooms because I didn't have to share a hallway with a bunch people. Would definitely stay here again!
Hometown Inn was in my opinion, the best hotel stay i have ever had. They allow access to the breakfast room 24/7. The pool and hot tub were always clean and had plenty of towels. They had snacks and quick food items for sale right in the lobby. The owners and staff were super friendly. My parents and brothers have stayed here before and have always had a great experience.
They were very friendly and accommodating. They appeared to be doing updates to the hotel. The first room didn't lock so they emediatly put me in another room. My grandchildren were the only ones in the pool and spa, they came in and turned on the colored lights just for them. Breakfast had a variety. For under $100 it was worth the money.
This is a plus and a minus.. I didn't know I was booked for a second floor room. Arriving at the hotel I found out there is NO ELEVATOR! I have a handicap that makes it very difficult to climb stairs. One of the employees carried my luggage to my room. I was very happy about that.
Super comfortable beds. Quiet and convenient location. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Free continental breakfast in sunny welcoming room. Nice pool and hot tub. Small "store" for snacks, necessities and toys was unexpected perk. Definitely recommend this hotel.
We thought it would be in the countryside near water, and it was not----we were naive, just going by the name of the place. However, it was good looking, clean, had a fireplace! Gave us a good recommendation for supper and breakfast.
The owners were very friendly, the room was nice & clean, with extra room to spread out. We will use this motel again when we are in the area. We highly recommend staying at Waterway Inn in Indian River.
I love the location of it; not even a two minute drive to get into downtown Indian River. It was definitely a spacious room. The beds were comfortable and the AC cooled the room down fairly quickly.
