I love Ely, this is my 4th stay. I have always had a memorable experience. One thing I wish I could have enjoyed was the new art gallery and Mercantile downtown. We arrived after they closed and left before they opened. So cool hearing the train blow its whistle as it chugged through town as well. On a former trip we visited the White Pine museum and it far exceeded our expectations. Worth a stop, for sure!

Best place to stay in ely is the Pioneer and la Quinta.
Best place to stay in ely is the Pioneer and la Quinta. Really good food options here, I suggest margaritas inside pioneer for Mexican food and good friendly service. Nardis unfortunately closed... and the local restaurants are pretty good like Piccadilly pizza and the local steakhouse. The art museum and the connected store is a fun visit, the thrift stores are charming, highly suggest coming between fri-sat.

We loved the wide-open space, the handy access to the Northern Nevada Railway Museum, which was our reason for coming to visit. Totally loved the Renaissance Village as well and although we didn't get there, close to the Lehman Caves (next time) at the Great Basin.

Ely was a welcome site after driving all day across from Moab. Many good choices for eating and one grocery store too. It had the original feel of a western town, and I enjoyed the signs around town describing its history. Being from the east, this was a lot of fun. I stayed at the Historic Hotel Nevada, and man, it was fun! The town even had a memorial park for Veterans, which I am, and that will stick with me always. What a blessing!

When we come anywhere near Ely we make it a point to stay.
When we come anywhere near Ely we make it a point to stay. A nice historic hotel with rooms recently updated. They recently replaced the on site restaurant with a Denny’s. I also enjoy their casino. They even still have video poker.
The manager was very friendly and offered an excellent reference to a Chinese Restaurant that had excellent delicious dishes to eat. Don't let the outside appearance of the restaurant fool you. The meal was absolutely delicious with quick service despite being short-handed. The hotel had a very comfortable bed and the place was very clean...it's an older hotel, but the place was clean and staff was friendly and helpful....and priced inexpensive to lay down after a long day of driving. We definitely will stay here again.
They are pet friendly. The little touches they did for you and your pet was amazing. Cute pet only section of the hotel, all themed out for pets. Room included a dog bed and a few dog treats. Nice area for you to take your dog out to potty which included baggies and a trash. There were several dogs staying and we never heard them in our room. Very quiet. Hotel beds were comfy. Loved having the resteraunt there in the hotel. Front desk staff were top notch!
We were very pleased with the location of the Motel and the size and cleanliness of the rooms and the property. Although the impression that staying in a motel is not as nice a hotel, Bristlecone Motel has been one of the nicer places we have stayed. We will definitely be visiting Ely, Nevada again and will be staying at the Bristlecone. Also, we traveled with our small dog and she was welcome on the property. Overall, our stay exceeded our expectations.
The gym wasn’t available. Some terrible arrangement with a local gym with an access “fob” that didn’t work.
The breakfast was a bagged meal no better than a McDonalds drive through and the coffee creamer was powdered.
Long - short. room was comparable to a motel 6. and the the facilities I was interested in weren’t available or were disappointing.
Stay at a cheep hotel and move on from Ely.
Receptionist was friendly and helpful. Hotel and rooms clean. The pool looked super inviting - but I didn't have my swimming trunks with me, so couldn't try it.
Ely is the end of the world anyway, so location does not really matter...
It was an older hotel but the room was spotless with all the amenities we needed. Comfortable bed and lots of pillows. After we checked in the manager stopped by with bottles of water and told us about the continental breakfast.
Comfortable bed, good bedding. good shower. Their breakfast is always a step above many other hotels. Good choices. And they don't run out of anything...they really keep an eye on their jobs. Also, they are so pleasant.
The luggage carts are best ever! Staff friendly. Let us park our motorcycles under cover. Hotel very clean and organized. Layout well thought out. Close to restaurants. Room nice , quiet and clean.
I booked this hotel becsaue it was the cheapest I could find. I liked that it was cheap because it ended up being a waste of money as the acomodations were unacceptable.
the staff was very friendly. the room was excellent- love a Kuerig in the room. the Denny’s breakfast was so much better than most “breakfasts” at other hotels /motels!
