Floyd is a very rural small town (with only one traffic signal) so depending on what day it is alot of the stores, restaurants, etc might either close early or be completely closed on certain days especially on holidays. However there is enough interesting attractions in the area such as the Blue Ridge Parkway, Floyd General Store, and the Chateau Morrisette winery to make visiting here worthwhile.

A great little town with many shops, just do not look for fancy/expensive stuff. There is a nice antique store (Finders Keepers), lots of musical offerings (mainly on weekends), but not a lot of restaurants. The places that were available covered the range of most foods and were good.

A small town with friendly people at the stores I shopped at. There was one store that did not have friendly service. Not sure if Floyd is considered a tourist place, but prices are a bit high. The Red Rooster coffee shop was high priced. Restaurants have good food.

Floyd is charming little snowglobe town.

Floyd is charming little snowglobe town. An interesting mix of people, a few little places to grab a yummy dinner or breakfast. There is a chocolatier in town that is crazy good, as well as an old fashioned milkshale shop that cooks of thick waffles. Also there is the Floyd Country Store which has a jamboree on Fridays with live bluegrass music, you can dance or just watch. No alcohol there. If you want a drink and to socialize there are a couple little dive bars that are pleasant. The nature and the trails in around Floyd are BEAUTIFUL. Lots of wildlife, deer, skunk, bears, foxes, bunnies...and in the spring in summer so many birds, butterflies and bees...even the cute little hummingbird moth. The stars are AMAZING you can actually see the Milky Way clearly.

We very much enjoyed the music events at the Floyd Country Store. Great shopping and casual dining experiences. We particularly enjoyed Dogtown, along with the outdoor barbeque place and the River Grille restaurants. Loved the Bread Basket bakery. The produce at the Farmers' Market was picture perfect beautiful and offered a good selection. The health food store had a nice selection of hard to find items. The community parking lot is very convenient to the center of town. Shopping for the unusual in clothing was great. We also took a ride on the Parkway and enjoyed some breathtaking scenery.

    We loved Floyd!!!

We loved Floyd!!! We came for the Friday night in Floyd and we were so happy we did - it's amazing and this tiny place was so alive & buzzing with friendly people, astounding musicians of all ages and the atmosphere was great!!! What a brilliant place! All the people were so welcoming and so kind, talked to us, explained things and made us feel genuinely welcome in their little town & allowed us to be part of it all. We would most definitely recommend it - unforgettable night for the whole family ranging from 11 to 60 - we all loved it!
