Beautiful waterfall and hiking, but to many “helpers” trying to make a block off too few tourist a few days before hiking season, around town. They are very nice but it was sad to have to say no thank you so much.

The waterfall walk at Senaru was a bit slippery, and the trek to the main waterfall requires sensible shoes and includes crossing the creek, so you will get wet feet. We didn't use a guide but reccommend you do as it is not always clear where to go. We also uses the scooter riders instead of waling back up the hill. Well worth it, some great views over the valley, but the track is narrow and steep on one side so if you are afraid of heights maybe think twice.

If you like traveling more locally and away from tourists, this is the place. The staff are very welcoming to tourists to join them for meals or guitar playing, or tea. It is up in the mountains with gorgeous views.

Senaru is still a relatively unspoilt Lombok town, and the main 'base camp' for treks up the mighty Rinjaru. A wide selection of eateries, with those on the north side of the road overlooking a jungle gorge. In the town the waterfalls are worth a look as well. Most people only stay the night before their trek, and then leave the mountain following. I stayed three nights and its worth it if you have some nice accommodation to shower, rest and recover from your trek.
Well worth a look and a stay.

Due to the 2018 earthquake there is only one hike available involving the mountain or vulcano. This is the two days trek to the vulcano rim. You sleep in a tent close to the rim and enjoy the amazing view and sunset. I would recommend this trip to everyone except children under 15 and old people, because it's not the easiest hike.
Besides this trip, there's a short (two hours return) hike past two waterfalls. Worth checking out ehen you're there.

Grab a scooter and go exploring around.
Grab a scooter and go exploring around. Much of the village is still recuperating from the earth quakes, so its a sad sight in that sense. But there is a rice field for sunset that is gorgeous and peaceful. I recommend. And the waterfalls too!
