Dirty Many vendors cannot understand “no”and follow us everywhere we we go nagging and nagging and very annoying. One followed us to our hotel another followed us to the restaurant. The market is not all that as Antigua has a market and Guatamala City has central market with equal products and food. I found out they charge more on Thursdays and Sundays because of the tourists. The local restaurants quality of food is terrible. We ate at San Juan and Las Brasas Not worth going to Chichicastenango.

The rooms are filled with antiques from all over the world. The dining rooms convey the past of the country. The bar was just right for a pre-dinner snack and drink. We enjoyed the honest simple breakfast and dinner. The employees are very knowledgeable about the history of the hotel.

A super plus is that there is the possibility to call the staff to set the fire in the fireplace, if the night is cold (as in our case). The staff is super helpful and welcoming. The position is great as is right behind the market square.

We particularly liked the fireplace in our room that was lit on demand when the evenings got too cool.
