Port Fairy is a great place to visit - especially if you appreciate a very good golf course. The town has great historical interest and is well appointed for tourists. This part of Victoria is very exposed to the weather so the traveller needs to check the weather in advance and take clothes to suit.

Port fairy is a beautiful, quiet and very much upmarket town with excellent shops, cafes and one or two good looking restaurants. There are peaceful, interesting nature walks and a picturesque wharf and boardwalk.
Gorgeous!

We visited Port Fairy as part of a drive along the Great Ocean Road in November 2023. We really loved the place. Very walkable. We particularly enjoyed the waterfront along the Moyne River and the wildlife on Griffiths Island. Had a lovely and good value meal at Alexo Pizza and Bistro (and the robot waiter was a real novelty). My wife said the coffee and cake at the Mill (across the road from Alexo) was some of the best she had ever tasted. The East Beach was miles of glorious sand. Would have loved to stay longer, but we had to get to Hall’s Gap in the Grampians. We did stop at nearby Tower Hill on the way north, but didn’t really have time to do that justice. Can’t wait to visit again, but not sure when that will be as we live thousands of miles away in the UK.

East beach is fabulous for a swim.
East beach is fabulous for a swim.
Griffith island a great walkway for wildlife, the port is really pretty.
Once a month (?) on a Sunday (?), they fire a cannon at midday (it's very cool!)
Make sure you go the the mexican restaurant on the main street - freshly made tacos, burritos, quesedillas etc, made to your liking - delish!
Would have liked to stay longer!!
We arrive past reception time, but the Jess' communication and contact with us was on point, we had no issue getting to and around the place. We were provided with places to visit around Port Fairy and some recommendation as well, guest experience was fantastic... We stayed a night since we were only driving through back to Adelaide after our trip in Melbourne and drive from the Great Ocean Road. The place is definitely great for young travellers, it spacious, clean and have enough social rooms to meet up new friends...
The town of Port Fairy is beautiful. Lots of history, wildlife and beaches. The two bedrooms apartment was clean, comfy beds and living room, and practical altogether with a lockup garage too. We very much enjoyed it (2 couples). The beds were perfect and the linen really clean, as well as the living room area and carpets. It is just at the start of the main streets so really well located to walk everywhere and make the most of your stay.
The accommodation was in a a historic old Flour Mill. The building was beautiful. The amenities perfect. The location to town center awesome. Bonus was the location was on the river. Wonderful view from our rooms. We love Port Fairy and every thing we wanted to do and see was in walking distance.
Absolutely everything was perfect! it was our second time staying here and cannot recommend enough! it’s our favourite accomodation in Victoria, the place is cozy, the staff makes you feel like you are at home and they are pet friendly which in our case is a bonus as we travel with our Bulldog
Location good for Port Fairy Folk Festival and town if you have bicycles which we did. Bit far out if not. Pet friendly which was important to us. Double basin in bathroom useful. Fair amount of space for two families and nice big dining table
The views of the ocean are spectacular.Near by beach was awesome and pet friendly.Gas log fireplace was very nice.Kitchen was well equipped with workable appliances.Bed was very comfortable and property is very nice and quite.
The view, direct beach access, pet friendly, private, warm and relaxing.Loved that there was a secure section for our little dog.
Just loved this property. We even saw a whale!
great property with 2 bedrooms and a real old cottage feel when in the property. Close to all amenities in Port Fairy. Highly recommended for a couple or small family
The town of Port Fairy and the coastline are stunning. There are several excellent restaurants and bakeries. A walk around Griffiths Island is a must do.
