This hotel is not a party place. It is for relaxation and serenity. The town is a 10 to 15 minutes walk. The pier, 7/11, bakery and many bars and restaurants. Tons of scooters which are basically the only mean of transportation if you don’t want to walk. A nice night market open nightly with good food and souvenirs. After being in Koh Samui for over a month as older people we enjoyed Thongsala because of the ease of walking to town. If you like to shop you will find hundreds of typical beach shopping. The town itself is surprisingly quite big. Definitely on top of our list for favorite beach town.

Thong Sala was our favorite city.
Thong Sala was our favorite city. Good energy, a lots of good food (a lot of vegan restaurants), markets.
Not too party and not too hippie. Was a good mix of everything and of locals and tourists.
Very good located to reach all the beaches with the scooter.

I love Thong Sala.
I love Thong Sala. Great food, bars and lots of things to do and see! They have Muaythai Chinnarach who provides the best training even if you just want to learn a new sport or keep fit! There is an english pub The Masons Arm - a friendly guy called Stephen will make you feel so welcome! Great beaches you can walk along and I love the sunsets from Becks Resort!

Clean little town with a big variety of restaurants.
Clean little town with a big variety of restaurants. Ask for Nopp - he is an amazing, flexible, affordable tour guide who feels more like a friend and takes you around the island at your own pace and wherever you want to go. He also offers bike/scooter riding lessons for you to do your own exploring on a bike/scooter. It is a popular means of transport in Thong Sala and the whole of Koh Pangan. Nopp's number is: +66 81 682 9727.

Tho gsala is a good central point to stay , you can then hire a scooter to visit the west (yoga and wellbeing community)and north where the good beaches are (Haad Yao ,Haad salad) or travel south to Haad Rin with sunrise beach and of course the full moon Party
Great food market!.
Hiring a scooter is a must to get around ,no buses and taxis will start at the pier but getting them elsewhere is a pain and your just have to wait

It's just an okay area.
It's just an okay area. Beaches are too shallow, feels a little too touristic and believe there are much nicer places to visit on the island. But we are all different so maybe try for a day and see what you think.
It was a nice place to stay considering the price. Very close to the ferry stop - it was very easy to walk to hotel from the port. The room was spacious and you got to keep your things nicely next to your bed. Locker was much appreciated. Rooftop with it's hammocks was really nice and cozy place to chill. Loved the fact there were yoga mattresses you could use. Lots of space on the rooftop to practice yoga etc. The host is very helpful.
It’s right in front of the street where they celebrate sonkan festival. I was splashed some was and it went in my eyes. I felt really uncomfortable and thankfully our hotel was walking distance so I was able to get back and change the lens. They provide hair dryer which doesn’t exist in the hotel I stayed before in Koh Phahang island. The host is friendly and they did not ask for deposit.
The property is located just a few meters away from the Lomprayah Ferry's office and the Thong Sala pier, as well as extremely close to a local fruit and fish market and there are plenty of cafes and restaurants in the surrounding areas.
Comfortable stay, dorms were a good layout for privacy despite no curtains. Free filtered water, tea and coffee which is nice. Great location, less than a 10 minute walk to the pier, and very central in Thongsala. 30 seconds from 7/11.
Beautiful calming surroundings, spotlessly clean, incredibly helpful and friendly staff. The owner lent me his bicycle for free, and also gave me a lift to my next hotel at the end of my stay. He was
so kind and welcoming.
Facilities are great, the room is well equipped. Very quiet hotel. The staff is super friendly and kind. The restaurant is great also. The WIFI is fast, the TV is a smart one, with Netflix, etc. which is nice.
good location, big comfortable bed
hot water.
hotel staff we encountered looked nice and the grounds looked maintained and clean.
we only used it to sleep so can’t say too much about the resort facilities.
Prime location in Thongsala, right at the nightmarket and 5min walking from the ferry. Small balcony to look down at the market. Very sweet and friendly owner. Common room has a fridge and filtered water.
I had a very good stay on Phangan Barsay Hostel. Staff very friendly and willing to support you in anything you need. Location is one of the best, 5 min walkin from Thong Sala pier and night market.
The hotel is great. The staff were super friendly and being right on the beach was epic. We stayed in a superior villa which was big enough for two adults and a toddler. The bed was massive.
Good location for exploring, comfortable big bed, lovely pool, very spacious old wood looking room overlooking beach with a big terrace, staff were friendly in hotel and the bar
The rooms are super clean and big.
There is a free pick up service from the tong Sala pier to the hotel. (Only when you arrive no free drop off service available)
