Perfect for adventure seekers and those who want to go...
Perfect for adventure seekers and those who want to go trekking for a day or 3 days and sleep in the forest...and those who are open minded enough to want to learn about a different culture and can adjust to conditions less than the comforts and conveniences in their home countries!!
Make sure to hike an hour around Yeak Laom Lake to work your legs for hiking before checking out Sona Trekking for a quality trek through the forest...also pick a waterfall among many in the area to choose from and rent a motorbike to check it out!! I saw Kachanh waterfall.
Try The Green Carrot for dinner, and Setra supermarket and its attached cafe for drinks and snacks! The Spicy Korean Noodle Soup 7 levels restaurant, despite being popular with the locals because it's newly opened, was the biggest and only disappointment here, being a low quality imitation of Le Seoul spicy Korean noodle soup franchise.
Bee Bees Chalet is a true homestay where the family live in the same wooden chalets as the guests. The 3 children are adorable as are the parents. The oldest son - BeeBee speaks fluent English as does Nita, the mother. The evening meals were excellent. This was our first stop in Cambodia so we were a bit taken a back by the cold showers and no air con but it was absolutely fine. They organise all sorts of trips. We did the boat trip which was good fun especially as BeeBee joined us. We learnt so much about Cambodia from this lovely family.
An excellent and relaxing place to stay, close to the centre of Banlung, with resteraunts, street stalls, and the lively and colourful town market within easy walking distance. Great value and Mr Happy has lots of local knowledge, speaks good English and can organise tuk tuks, guided tours and trekking, scooter rental etc and Mrs Happy has Socheata Resteraunt next door and cooks delicious local cuisine every day.
The best thing about the property is the owner, Mr Happy. He’a great guy to have around, he can help with just about anything and on top of that he’s a pleasure to talk to. The property itself is neat, tidy and comfortable with plenty of power outlets and a misquote net. The location is great too, just a short walk from the centre of town. Being able to rent a scooter from here is also a nice bonus.
The essence of Cambodia is not in their brutal history, not in their financial misfortune—it is in their people.
The host family are tender-hearted. Their children are full of life, the students they host English classes for are full curiosity, and the owners are full of selfless love.
I urge you to stay here, share in their beautiful way of life, and discover Cambodia’s benevolent spirit.
Bee bee's chalets is absolutely a place to stay in Banlung. We had an absolutely great time with the family and the others travellers. The room was comfortable, the shower was really appreciated after trekking days in the jungle. The family owning the place is really friendly and welcoming. We spend the evening together enjoying good homemade food and go out into the city. Thanks again!
practically everything: Mr. Paw is the kindest person you can have in a homestay. He will pick you up from the bus station to his home and he will do he’s best to make you feel comfortable. At his home, you will meet his wonderful family, and join them to family dinners! If you like a good glimpse into a Khmer family, this will be the best option for you!
The owner's family is very friendly. The room was airy and comfortable. The bathroom was spacious and convenient for drying towels. Next to this homestay, there is a restaurant run by their relatives and we had dinner there. According to my sister who lives in Banlung, it is a popular Cambodian hot pot restaurant among the locals.
Very nice place to stay and sooo cheap! Of course you do not have the confort of 5 stars hotel, but it is still quite nice! Saat (the owner) can discuss with you and let you discover his region. He can also do tuktuk driver and guide for an amazing Trekk in the jungle, as you will see nowhere else!
I highly recommand
My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The lodge is operated by the owner, who is committed to the welfare and joy of her guests. Her English is exceptional, her demeanor is welcoming, and best of all, the location is filled with the Khmer charm dear to many hearts. I would absolutely stay here again.
Lovely family and lovely location. Beautiful views often area and not to far to walk into town. The host was very kind and picked me up from the bus stop when I arrived in Banlung! Overall, a good place to stay for a few days to use as a base while you explore the rest of the area.
- WiFi in my bungalow, which was right by the modem.
- Restaurant with good food
- Scooters for rent ($9 per day)
- Helpful
They had booked the minivan for me to the next town.
The minivan picked me up at the hotel.
- Manager speaks English.
Such a beautiful experience here in Banlung, and especially at Tree Lodge! Horng makes you feel like part of the family, and was so friendly and helpful. I also organised a trek with her company, which was incredible ! Highly recommend
The owner is one of the most honest people you will find. He can connect you with any adventures you like and make sure that you will be dealing with the best, most honest people for your activities. His wife is a great cook.
Best place to stay in Banlung, especially if you want to do some trekking. You can rent motorbikes and buy bus tickets as well. Pu Thea speaks English very well and he and his family are awesome hosts.
I had a wonderful stay! The place is clean and cozy with an excellent location. And the best part is Puthea and his wife who take care of everything you need in the most pleasant way.
