small city in west Ukraine which in war now. look poor.. most ofthe people are not speak English or Russian.. only Ukrainian. to pass the border...the passport control is very problematic..take lot of time because the Hungarian side is..not helpful.. next to the hotel there is great local restaurant . very recommended.

A very interesting Ukrainian city, with a strong Hungarian heritage. The castle and attached outdoor walking museum are always interesting to visit. There's a small, but lovely historical city centre, and a great river walk. There's a number of nice parks. What I enjoy about Uzhorod, is that it is a very walkable city. It's not necessarily jam packed with museums, and other such tourist attractions, but it has a great atmosphere, and lots of good restaurants. I live in Ukraine, and have made Uzhorod my summer vacation spot. I highly recommend a visit.DeanUkraine - 10Scored 10

The best part is the river-side walking path with lots of trees and benches. Downtown walking district is also nice with some cafes, and you also need to visit the local market with ladies from neighboring villages selling their own handmade products, vegetables, milk, etc.

Nice laid back city, with harmonious mix of city life and nature. Not so much Ukrainian atmosphere, since the Carpathian mountains separate Uzghorod from the rest of the country. By the way, great Hungarian restaurant opposite the castle (only when the male chef is cooking) with quiet terrace during evening hours in summertime. Travelling to the rest of the country is only possible via Lviv and Kyiv. This should be considered. If you like travelling by car; beautiful scenery. If you travel by train; it will take you many hours through beautiful landscape.

The town is small and perfect. Very nice atmosphere both at day time and even better in the evening. Many nice shops and cafes. Prices are cheap compared to other Ukrainian cities. A very interesting museum of old ukrainian village and a castle.

All the pools are amazing and of perfect temperature. Both restaurants are comfortable and delicious. Due to its proximity to the nature it may be not so easy to get to the city itself: bus departing from the stop nearby departs a few times a day, and the other stop is nearly half an hour from the hotel. But when you're using private car or taxi it should not be an issue.
