Cremona is a fascinating destination, its history is revealed on every corner you walk about. The Cremona cathedral that dates back to the 12th century, the baptistry, and the bell tower are a must visit. You may not want to miss of course the Museo del Violino where you can trace back the history of violin making as it developed in Cremona. If you're hungry for great pizza, go to La Pendola and if for great seafood, Pesciolini Innamorati. In short, you'll want to comeback there many times.

Italy is full of interesting destinations that do not make...
Italy is full of interesting destinations that do not make it to the top of Tripadvisor or Lonely planet, but are still very interesting. Cremona is one of those places. The good news (for travellers) is that the tourist masses will stay away, most people come here because of its history of musical instruments. For me the Torrazzo (the 120m tower in the square) was the more impressive sight. I have been up many towers, this is truly one of the most spectacular ones, and it has a still functioning original astronomical clock, as well as very nice explanations within the tower. The Violin museum will attract most tourists, I think it could have used more traditional exhibits where you can read and learn instead of all the (annoying) multimedia exhibits that do not tell much. The recitals (not every day, check the schedule) are a must see though. It is quite interesting to see a 180-200 year old violin (Vesuvio Stradivarius in our case) taken form the exhibition brought to the hall and hear it played live in front of an audience. And then there is the food. There are excellent restaurants in the area, I can recommend the Ristorante Il Violino (upscale, quite pricey) for example.

It's a very atmospheric town.
It's a very atmospheric town. It was where Stradivari the violin maker lived and I was there for the Stradivari festival, but even during the rest of the year the museum of the violin has recitals on violins from their collection at noon.

An authentically Italian experience in this small city.
An authentically Italian experience in this small city. Prices were amazing, people were friendly and genuine. We loved the restaurants we tried and the numerous cafes. Of course, the violin makers are the highlight of the city and the museum amazing for its collection of Stradivarius and other world famous violins.

Cremona is a beautiful city with such great sightseeings.
Cremona is a beautiful city with such great sightseeings. The three things we loved the most about Cremona were the Main Cathedral and its Torrazzo Tower, Il Museo del Violino (The amazing Museum of Violins) and Hotel Astoria.
an excellent location. ultra modern interior in a charming old building with keyless access and excellent information provided straight after booking. exceptionally clean modern rooms and comfortable bed. parking available for a reasonable cost. mini bar was well stocked with soft drinks and snacks included in the room rate. hairdryer was powerful and the bathroom amenities were plentiful. overall we were extremely happy with our stay at La Vista and would have no hesitation recommending to anyone visiting Cremona
This room was amazing, huge in size including giant marble bathroom, ultra modern and luxurious, exceptionally clean and new.
The location is on the main piazza with Cathedral, the best place to be in Cremona. The room also included complimentary snacks and drinks. Staff kindly stored bags after checkout.
Cremona is a wonderful town, especially for anyone who appreciates violin.
Plenty of space in this apartment. Breakfast was not provided but the grocery store Esselunga was just 100 m away and there was a complete kitchen so it was easy to eat what we wanted. The town center and main museums in Cremona were a 15 minute walk, and the railway station was a bit further, a 30 minute walk. An extensive music store is right next to the apartment.
The apartment is spacious for a family of 4 (we stayed 3 nights). It is very clean, cozy, practical equipped, has new interior, with a balcony and terrace. You get to the upstairs room by using a spiral staircase. It’s a lovely place to come back to after exploring Cremona by foot. We can definitely recommend this place.
quite apart from the modern comfortable room we stayed in, the owner of the hotel went out of her way to help us when an unexpected problem meant we had to temporarily store some items at the ‘hotel’ long after our checkout time. delighted by the kindness shown to us.
Perfect place for a visit to pittoresque Cremona. Diletta is a very generous and lovely host. The B&B is situated in a peaceful, respectfully renovated 17th Century former monastery /farmhouse. Our dog was welcome and Diletta prepared a delicious breakfast for us.
The hotel is in a central location with very easy parking. Very lively and busy area that we enjoyed right outside the hotel. Closing the windows keeps the noise outside, or open them and enjoy the life of this city. Breakfast was adequate. Staff is friendly.
The staff was more than friendly, always ready to assist, keeping the room clean and tidy. The location is fantastic, 10 minutes walk to the center of Cremona. Perfect place to stay if you plan to visit Lombardy around.
The room was very convenient to the main areas of Cremona. The narrow street that the hotel is on is very lively at night, giving a great energy to the area, but not so much that it was too loud to sleep.
Perfect location right in the city centre of Cremona, the apartment was top class, nice furniture, well equipped
and spotless clean. Good value for money. Easy to communicate with the property owner
Everything was great! The place is wonderful, with perfect location a 10 min to the centwr of Cremona. The apartment is clear, very cozy and quiet! The hosts are super kind and responsive.
No breakfast , but there were some cookies and toasts and also Coffee and tea available.
Good location and safe. Excellent place to stay for exploring Cremona. Hosts very friendly
A great find, wonderful apartment that is very well equipped. Loved the little washing machine.
Cremona is a lovely vibrant town, perfect place for us to stopover!
