Its an adventure getting there.
Its an adventure getting there. You fly into the little North Aluthera airport, take a "taxi" ($5 pp) to the harbor, then take a water taxi ($ 5 pp) to harbor island. Then you can either walk, take another taxi, or rent a golf cart to the hotel.
There is a nice variety of low and high end restaurants, all within walking or golf cart ride distance from the hotels.
Beaches are fantastic.
You can go back to eluthera island a rent a car for the day and check out the bigger island.

Most lovely beach we've ever visited - even nicer than many...
Most lovely beach we've ever visited - even nicer than many in Hawaii and Turks Caicos. Wide beach with powder soft, pinkish sand. Gentle waves, very shallow - electric blue and aqua water. Drop dead gorgeous. A bit windy, but after all, it's a tiny strip of land... only 1/2 mile wide - that's to be expected. Many amenities available, such as cabanas, umbrellas and lounge chairs and towel service, but not crowded at all - we walked a full 2 miles and only ran into a handful of people.
Very close to the boat landing, so it’s an easy walk or a quick golf cart ride to the hotel and you can walk back into that part of the island for coffee in the morning if you want.
The hotel offers a great free breakfast and a wonderful option on cooked items for breakfast.
The “beach team” is phenomenally observant and takes good care having chairs, towels, umbrellas, and equipment always ready.
The beach bar is excellent.
We had a lovely dinner.
In general the staff is amazing..
We never used the gym or tennis court.
Included breakfast was great, staff was exceptional. Specifically we specified "no feather bedding" on our reservation, which is often missed. In the case of Coral Sands, they not only had supplied non-feather bedding, but called after we checked in to make sure that it was satisfactory. Everybody on staff was friendly and happy making us feel very comfortable. Rooms were exceptionally clean, and well decorated. Layout of the property allowed for lots of privacy while making it easy to get around.
Coral Sands is a well-run, unpretentious and well located hotel. Our King Deluxe Oceanview room was excellent, very comfortable and immaculately clean (well done to the housekeeping staff). It is well located on the famous pink sand beach, and close to all the amenities of Dunmore town. The pool and its area are very nice. It was good to have continental breakfast included in the rate. The reception staff, especially Denise and Lisa, were very helpful and friendly.
In general, the the food was gourmet quality with a price to match. We generally stayed with the Continental Breakfast included in the room rate. It too was very good quality.
The beach setting was superb, with wonderful beach views from the beach bar, the pool, and the restaurant.
Hotel staff were very friendly, even with high season weariness.
The location and access to Harbour Island's pink sand beaches was perfect. The hotel had chairs, umbrellas, towels, boogie boards, paddle boards, floats and a kayak that you could use for no extra charge. The Beach Bar had by FAR the best food along the beach and was easy to access. Amazing spot to vacation!
We loved this hotel. It had an amazing view of the ocean, and the most comfortable bed we've ever slept on. The food was impeccable. We loved our dinner, so fresh and yummy. The beach was just down the nicely tailored rock walkway to the most beautiful pink sand beach! We loved everything about our stay here.
I was upgraded to a very large room which was nice and I think would be great to come back with my family. The breakfast and lunch were both good. For this part of the Bahamas, it’s a really nice, good sized hotel for a family visit at a good value.
it was exactly as I imagined Bahamian island! the Hotel is very cozy and cute, staff is very nice, helpful and hospitable. Location - is super great. it’s 7 mins walk to the beach, 1 min to the restaurants and 5 mins to the grocery store.
The location, on a beautiful stretch of pink sand and beautiful blue clean water. The room we stayed in had an ocean view, was very spacious and had a comfortable bed. Nice shower.
Massive room, great bathroom amenties. Free breakfast included. There's a gym in the hotel. We only stayed for one night so didn't get to try out the beach bar but looked great!
Absolutely beautiful view of the ocean from the room. The beach cafe is amazing with a lovely Caribbean feel overlooking the ocean. Highly recommended this hotel.
