The old town is cute and well connected with other villages via the train station. We could walk to a beer garden 30 minutes away in the next town (across the river) and then return by train. The local restaurants are small and cosy, and if you are looking to save, there is also a supermarket and a kebab place at walking distance.

If like me, you are interested in the 12-13th century Holy Roman Empire and its Staufer emperors, do NOT miss this place. And even if you aren't a Staufer fan, this is a great place to learn about them--second only to Palermo, Italy, where the great Frederick II, his father and first wife are buried. I was surprised by how much is left of the Wimpfen castle, which most of the Staufers visited from time to time, and where, in 1235, Frederick II had his famous meeting with his wayward son, King Henry VII of Germany, which resulted in Henry being consigned to a dungeon it Italy, where he committed suicide. I'm a big Frederick II fan and was surprised to find out that after 800 years, the locals still side with Henry!

Bad Wimpfen is Germany's best kept secret: Authentic town...
Bad Wimpfen is Germany's best kept secret: Authentic town from the middle ages with excellent tourist attractions and facilities (museums, tours, etc) and not yet commercialized (a real town with real people) - and in one of the most scenic parts of Germany with some of the best drinkable wines in the world.
The very attractive hotel was 5 minutes from the station, in a quiet cobbled area opposite the Tourist Office and museum, with a passageway through to a quaint street with cafés and restaurants. The single room and en suite were spacious, with a safe, welcome fan and fridge containing free drinks.
Entry and Reception were automated but the breakfast room staff were very friendly. Guests chose a time slot for breakfast to ensure good spacing. Leaflets and maps were available.
We had booked the Fernblick but when we arrive we were told there was no availability but we would be booked into the Rosengarten Hotel instead. This was a surprise but was a pleasant one.
The hotel was comfortable, very clean and had all we needed (except a kettle) in the room.
This hotel is within easy walking distance from the beautiful town centre, although there were some quite steel hills.
Would definitely stay again.
The appartment was beautifully furnished and very well equipped. It was spotlessly clean. It was located directly in the Altstadt of Bad Wimpfen, so we were able to do everything on foot. After a day's sightseeing it was the perfect place to retreat to. The whole place was enchanting and steeped in history. Bad Wimpfen ist certainly worth visit and the Casa Wimpina is the perfect place to stay.
Neues Tor is an excellent hotel with clean, modern and spacious rooms. The bathroom is extraordinary, very spacious and comfortable. The staff is professional and caring. This is a Bett & Bike property and features great bicycle parking with E-bike charging stations. The courtyard seating for drinks, dinner and breakfast is peaceful, and both the food and service very good.
Great location, easy access to the old town and other location cal sites. Great rooms which were large and very clean. Staff is incredible. Everyone from the manager of the hotel to the front desk staff, the restaurant servers, the bar staff and the housekeeping team were exceptional. Always friendly and willing to help. They remember us from our past stays.
The entire stay was exceptional. The staff friendly and efficient. The overall hotel was well-maintained and beautiful. My hotel room was exceptional, especially the bathroom. Gorgeous and extremely well maintained. The food at both breakfast and in both restaurants for dinner was delicious and there was a wide variety to choose from.
Very spacious and well appointed apartment, located in the lovely little town of Bad Wimpfen. Huge bed was very luxurious. Kitchen was very well set up with everything you’d need for a self catering stay, which is how we travel. Access to a washing machine made this the perfect accommodation for us.
The hotel was exceptional in every respect. The rooms were modern and clean, and well equipped (nice shower, excellent lighting, lots of plugs and storage, roll-shutters for the windows). Location was also exceptional, being only about 150 metres from the old town.
Due to corona, the guesthouse was still closed so all guests were upgraded to the next door hotel. The hotel is a good place to stay but a bit outdated but the rooms are well equipped. The close by city center has plenty of nice dinner options and is worth a visit.
The hotel i located in the beautiful medieval centre of the town, walking distance from restaurants cafés, and bakeries. Room with standart equipment, old fashioned. Very good breakfast. Public parking close to hotel. Complimentary welcome drink.
Great little hotel, close to the historic downtown, with a very friendly staff and a nice breakfast buffet. Also, it has a secure location to store your bike.
