The staff (mother and daughter) are really friendly and helpfull; the breakfast buffet is great, lots of products, marmalades, etc made by the staff herself. On the main street, several restaurants and wine bars (Volkach is situated in a wine region of Germany) give you different choices of meal types and wines.

We stayed Monday/Tuesday the week prior to German school holidays and were the only guests which felt similar to being owners of a Manor House. From Thursday to Sunday and during major holidays the hotel is very busy - pick your stay. The restaurant served wonderful German food and although having a limited menu served the best meals of our holiday.

The hotel provided very good secure bike storage and the facilities were clean. This is a modestly priced hotel and the facilities and service match the price paid. The location is super if cycling the River Main cycle path. Although the hotel doesn't have a restaurant, there are several within a short walk.
