The location was very convenient to the highway and it was walking distance to the Castle and other sites. Staff was friendly and welcoming, even to our small dog who traveled with us. The room was spacious and clean, with plentiful storage. The bed was comfortable. Extra blankets were provided for cool evenings. The bathroom was large and clean with a full size bath and shower. The food was delicious and reasonably priced; we enjoyed the daily breakfast and had dinner on 3 nights. The bar was cozy and welcoming. The host/owner was directly involved in assuring that we were comfortable and made us feel like welcome guests. He even had dinner with us one night! Housekeeping service was provided daily. We highly recommend this hotel if you are looking for a quaint, authentic stay in a hotel that feels more like visiting someone's home.

Encosta do Sobreiro is easily and by far one of the best places I've ever stayed, if not the very best. The first sign of an exceptional stay came on the day before our arrival. Ms. Luisa called me to ask if we had any special request that she could help with.
On the day of our stay, due to unplanned issues we arrived later than we have planned. Though I recognize this is inconvenient and should be avoided by the guests, Ms Luisa and Mr. Hugo did not complain even once. Quite the opposite. Mr. Hugo received us with a big smile! The attention to details continued: he used a disposable protector for his shoes before entering the house where we were staying.
The house is fantastic. There are TVs in both rooms and a big TV in the living room. The bathroom was exceptionally clean and the towels were soft and smelled really good. And, by the way, the marble floor gave it a refined look. Water pressure was fantastic even for the hot temperature.
In the Kitchen you have everything you possibly need for a short and comfortable stay: pans, italian moka coffee maker, nespresso machine, microwave, oven and stove.
The beds were comfortable and cozy. In the outside there are tables and chairs where I could sit for a while to sip my coffee and simply relax.
The house has a fireplace but also central heater.
The breakfast was great with cheese, ham, jams, milk, cereal, honey and fresh bread being delivered in the morning.
I will certainly return for a longer stay to enjoy the region, unwind and relax.
Ms Luisa and Mr Hugo, my family and I thank you very much for a delightful stay!

The very beautiful area full of natural serenity, beauty and green far away from busy city life taken care by a cal and quiet River Monedgo at the vicinity of the mountain range and preserved natural park, namely, Serra da Estrella having popular for its highest peak in Portugal where snow falls in the winter only place in the country experiences snow falling. It is the best zone for retreat at least once in a year to one refreshed and rejuvenated through gaining fresh energy from the nature. That's more than enough me to be a frequent visitor at this place!

Very biker friendly, secure parking for the bike, a place full of stories and memorabilia from all over the world that give it a welcoming and interesting touch.
Friendly and exceptionally helpful staff, thank you !
The food was delicious, fresh and regional and the bar open late for a pint or two
Bikers if you are in the area, stay at Hotel Mia Serra
There’s dog friendly and there’s dog welcoming, and Hotel Mira Serra was very dog welcoming to my two golden retrievers, which is always a relief as an owner of two large dogs. There was also a great park just across from the hotel for walking the dogs. Plus the hotel team all spoke excellent English. Pretty location too.
Very nice hotel and great value for money. Extremely friendly staff, helpful, understanding and professional. Nice big rooms come with a terrace / balcony, placing my bicycle inside the room was no problem at all. Always a smile from the staff members, good restaurant and breakfast.
Excelent value for money. I've been in several hotels in Europe in the last few years and this one is the best value for money. The breakfast is very good and the staff is very kind. We will return when we return to the Portuguese interior.
The hotel was handily placed for nearby motorcycle routes and had handy underground parking. The food was good and the overnight stay was excellent value. The hotel needs a bit of modernisation but that adds to the character.
The Hotel was very comfortable ,room spacious and clean, food in restaurant was excellent and great value.Staff very pleasant and professional .I would definitely stay again if traveling in the region.
