Great location, beach is lovely lots of surfing, bigger waves nearer to Porto city end , lovely shops and cafes ,
Metro and bus into city , double decor bus best as you see right along the beach , just tap on with your bank card no faffing with validating , and just as fast , big yellow number 500 ,
The port is an interesting look around and fish market, expect it to be a bit smelly though it’s a huge working port

We loved that we did not need to rent a car (Uber was always a few minutes away). There were many activities to do: Beach, water sports, Restaurants, Casa da Guitarra Fado show, Porto & Wine Tasting. The city is walkable and full of small interesting shops and buildings. I highly recommend Bacalhau in Muro dos Bacalhoeiros 153 - 155

I would not stay in the suites again but enjoyed the locality of the old town of Matosinhos and it’s very nice beach. There is a very moving sculpture on the beach about the tragic loss of the fishing fleet and many men from the town, during a terrible storm in the last century. There are many really good traditional restaurants with delicious traditional Portuguese food, away from the beach area. The public transport is good with Metro and bus connections to central Porto. There are many beautiful art nouveau and art deco era buildings in the town.

Fabulous walking paths north and south of the beach, all with great views, super sunsets. There are a few restaurants along the beach, more as you head south. Great transport connections directly from the beach into Porto ( the 500 bus, takes about 35 mins)

A previous industrial area that has been converted to mostly residential. Very modern with a few old-town parts. The beach south of the harbor was one of the best and my reason to stay here. Great bus connection to the old part of Porto.
This was a cute little place to stay for my family for the first night of our camino. It was close enough to the beach and we spent the afternoon there. Restaurants are within walking distance and there is a lovely coffee shop below the hotel for breakfast in the morning and a supermarket close by. I would recommend it for families. We are a family of 5 so we had to take 2 rooms. There was air-con and TV and lovely hot showers so we had a great relaxing evening.
Very good location, central and quiet at the same time
The man at the reception was friendly and spoke English
The room was clean, with good wi fi, a good bed
The parking was near the hotel and we did not pay because it was a holiday
Very easy to go to Porto, only 15 minutes along the sea by car
There are very good restaurants with sea food veriety nearby
There are several Cafes 1 minute from the hotel where you can have breakfast
Lidl is 3 minutes by car
The location was perfect for our visit to the Casa de Cha (reason we chose this hotel), as well as being just a short trip into Porto. We loved the modern interior with large and wonderfully comfortable beds. We appreciated the rain shower, and were very grateful for the coffee/tea facilities (which does not yet seem to be common in Portugal).
Alberto and the staff were extremely hospitable and helpful in every way. Alberto even personally delivered my travel journal after I forgot it at the hotel. This location is very central and walkable, as well as being right on the tram route. The bed was comfortable and the room was very clean.
There was secure underground parking at the hotel. The hotel was based in a built up area within easy walking distance of the beach (10 -15 mins), and local restaurants. There was easy access via the train or bus to Porto for sight seeing etc. The breakfast was excellent.
Everything was perfect! Nuno responded immediately once I arrived. My room was ready earlier than the stated check-in time, which I appreciated. A very friendly and polite man. As a frequent traveller to Portugal, I would not think twice about staying here again. Obrigada!!!
Has a washing machine, big wardrobes, a nice double bed and two air cons and a big tv in the lounge room. Really nice view and location. Literally 2-min walk away from the beach. And surrounded by many great restaurants and supermarkets. Excellent stay!!
We enjoyed the size of the apartment and how it was furnished. Since this is a family home, you could experience how living as a local would feel. We missed the place as soon as we left for Porto city center after a six night stay in Matosinhos.
Coming from NYC, in my opinion, hotel was great value for money. As a woman traveling alone, I felt safe with the sounds of family and children downstairs. Ensuite room was totally acceptable and quiet. Nice low key start to my Camino.
Beds were very comfortable and the sheets were nice quality. And it was clean. It is across the street from the metro for easy access to Porto. There was nothing else to offer. Very sparse and way overpriced for what you get.
A nice hotel, friendly staff, everything you hope for in a quick business trip. Solid room, very neat and clean, relatively large. Nice and efficient breakfast - everything you want, without exageration in lenghth of bar.
Central location, beautiful old historic building and very friendly staff 🙂. The metro runs down the road the hotel is located on, so just a 2 minute walk to jump on this if you're looking to go to Porto Central.
Very kind and helpful owner, very hommy-feel like hotel. Breakfast was simple but nice and good quality. Depending on what your plans are in Porto, the location might be great (which was the case for us).
The hotel very nice and cozy, good place to stay in Porto, staff was very friendly and very welcoming :) we had breakfast included and we liked freshly baked carrot cake very much☺
The location is near to the Porto International Airport and as far as I know this is only the best hotel nearby. Breakfast is awesome one as always provided by B&B Porto.
