Well, i believe lots of visitors already know that Kuching is famous for its Kolo Mee and must-eat Laksa... so delightfully ubiquitous that you dont have to sweat to find one and the tastes and textures are varied that it might take a week to form a decisive opinion as to which is the best of them all.
Kuchingites are friendly and helpful if you need "snapper".
The city is acceptably clean (8/10) and safe (10/10 during our visit as we did not experience or seen anything untoward: but personal safety is your own baby)

Nice city with a lot of attractions in the city itself and the surrounding area. The nicest surprise is the musical fountain show each evening at Darul Hana bridge. We could have stayed an extra night, as there were a few more attractions worth exploring.
We did half day trips to Bako National Park and the Sarawak Cultural Village and strolled through the old city and along the waterfront. Would recommend visiting, as it probably has more to offer than the more popular Kota Kinabalu.

We loved Kuching felt it was a better option than Kira Kinabalu so much to see and you can visit nature parks that require significantly less travel than KK. We highly recommend Kuching the cultural village and cultural centre are a must!

From my view, so far most of Sarawakian are friendly and helpful, Plenty eating places in Kuching and also best to drive on the road because of the space and also the lane on the road is much bigger than in peninsular Malaysia.
I like the parking system at the mall, eco-friendly absolutely good to use to all facilities. For dinner / dine in i would like to recommend for the people to go to Top Spot Food Court for dinner. Plenty seafood you can choose from and the food is absolutely good to try (Malays, Chinese, and Thai Food). Muslim owner also there you can try,
best shopping mall is at Plaza Merdeka, and Aeon Mall Kuching.
Easy access to walk down to Water front, and also plenty eating places around, lots of shops (kek Lapis + Handy Craft / gifts) and amazing view along the river + Sarawak Assembly Building & Jambatan Darul Hana. Nice to go on the cruise as well for relaxing and enjoy the views along the river in Kuching.
perhaps next time i can avoid the traffic jam especially during peak hours.

I was there on family visit after 20 years, I was shocked of the ammount of new hotels built in Kuching, thats a bit sad because it brings down the nostalgy of kuchings old city centre. Waterfront has been improved over the years and is a happening place at night for nice streetfood and a walk.
There are river cruises to be made, and ofcourse bookings to wildlife centres, cultural village, there is lots to do in Kuching.

Kuching met our expectations.
Kuching met our expectations. Hot and humid: but you're one degree from the equator, right? A safe feel about the place. Friendly and helpful people.
Good value shopping (clothes, colourful fabric products, etc. etc.). Food is varied and delicious: local, Indian, Sri Lankan, Philippine, western (but who would want that?), great snacks on the street and along the river. Easy and cheap air-conditioned transport (but they don't mark bus stops, so get accurate information locally).
Bako was rewarding, to see amazing rock formations, proboscis monkeys, green snakes, boars, and so on; engaging a guide is good value.
Don't miss the Borneo Cultures Museum. It has everything, in a remarkable building that dominates the horizon.
Do it! Share experiences and costs with other tourists.
Major Plus: The staff team is of 5-star hotel level quality despite being in a budget hotel. You can sense the true passion to serve, ever-ready to give the wow. Extremely helpful, always smiling and welcoming. They did utmost to ready the your room before your arrival. Nice to be able to check in on arrival. Room is huge. Bed is comfy and clean.
Location is near entrance of Chinatown, and is accessible to many attractions within 15min by car. Secure and safe with keycard-only lift access.
Location, Location, Location.
Walking distance to the Waterfront Walk.
Shops just across the road, bars around the corner and also walking distance to Carpenter Street (more bars). Staff VERY polite, room clean and pretty quiet. Breakfast has a standard menu which seems to be in most hotels nowadays. Tea (dinner) worth having even if it just the once. Bed comfortable, water pressure shower good. TV with good selection of channels.
Nice hotel and price reasonable. The staff is helpful & fast response. They also provide dettol shower cream & hair shampoo, weighing scale, hair dryer.Room Its so spacious and comfy.
Good service as they provide free transport from airport to hotel and from hotel to airport upon requests and provide flight detail. Sure will stay again if go to kuching.
Thank you very much Amamas Boutique Hotel.
The receptionist is so friendly and way professional, same goes to the engineering team, they are fast on fix up the hot water in our room. Bellman also very kind and friendly. Overall everything is ok. This hotel is just opposite the Airport and is convivence for those attending convo at UNIMAS. Is a distance if you thinking of to go Kuching City.
For first-timer to Kuching Town, I can recommend this hotel as it is near to shopping bazaar and a lot of eateries nearby. If you like to try the best seafood, you can head to The Top restaurant as it was just nearby. Make sure you arrive before 630pm as it can get a bit crowded and quite hard to find a table. Food was cheap and good.
Room was spacious, bed was comfy, hotel is strategically located in centre of the city, easy to go anywhere. Staff were friendly. Overall, the Riverside Majestic Hotel, Puteri Wing was amazing and superb. Worth every penny spent. You won’t regret. Easy access to Kuching Waterfront, just cross the road.
The hotel has made various efforts to be more environmentally aware, which is amazing, and a first for my experience in Malaysia. The room was comfortable, and it's peaceful at night. Location is perfect as well, as there are many eateries close by and the waterfront is not far.
It's very central, an easy walk to the waterfront, Carpenter Road and Borneo Culture Museum. As a female solo traveler I could connect to many nice people and the hostel staff is providing information about the main activities in Kuching, how to take public transport etc.
This is one of the hotel I choose everytime I come to kuching, I really liked the staff they're really helpful and friendly really like their attitude, room hotel is really big, they have one of the biggest room in kuching, worth for money.
Room meet expectation. Location very strategic. I can do jogging everyday as the nice Kuching waterfront is just nearby.
Bfast average. need to request for spoon etc due to many people and maybe not enough staff
The Grand Margherita in Kuching have one big benefit: the Location. Direct on the river front and inside the city, you can easiely access all areas. The Hotel serves also a very good breakfast.
Hilton is a great base to explore the city center. Reliable staff and perfect location by the river. While the hotel was under renovation, the public spaces and hotel room remained comfortable.
Clean, bright and modern. Great choice of breakfast including tasty local dishes. Welcoming and friendly staff. Choice of rooms to suit different budgets. Easy walk to the waterfront
It is very nice place to stay👍 u can just walk to Kuching waterfront.. the view also nice especially during sunset😍.. the facilities provided by the owner 👍👍..thank you.
The staff in the accommodation were very friendly and helpful with activities to do in Kuching. It's very close to the waterfront area and a shopping mall.
