Totally different from Tokyo, much more relaxed and the pier district was wonderful! There was also a yummy anchovy based ramen near the Yokohama Station .... can't remember what it was but it was yummy! So many attractions and interesting places to explore. Yokohama is a city brimming with interesting places to visit, delicious food to sample, and history to learn. Not only that, but I’ve spent a lot of time in Japan, and no where else did I find such friendly people! My favorite bite was at Central Burger off the Ishikawacho stop. They serve an amazing American style smash burger that they’ve made completely their own. I had to leave the states to find a burger THAT GOOD. I was sorry to leave this great city.

Yokohama is beautiful.
Yokohama is beautiful. Just do go there and enjoy the place, food, people and the sea. In addition, there is an ice rink in winter. The Washington Hotel is a great place to stay and there are plenty of restaurants and in the hotel complex and in the surrounding area. The Washington hotel is one stop past JR Yokohama station. It can be confusing but worth the trip. Or you can walk. It is a long walk so better to take the train.MarkAustralia

I also appreciate that there is a gym and a lounge for residents. The parking access was easy and straight forward even we did not speak Japanese. The experience of staying in an Aparthotel is more interesting than in a hotel - this is our personal opinion.
