Countryside all around, spiralling town of a moderate size with a river running through its heart.
Town centre good for shopping, wandering, plenty of nice cafes & other eating & drinking places.
Handy place to stay & visit places attractions in the wider area. Decent road system, easy to navigate. Like everywhere parking is the proble, but not if you don't mind short pleasant walk, as opposed to parking at the door of where you want.

I went to school here and lived in the area for many years so my visit was to catch up with some old friends. The town centre has improved over the decades and seems to be thriving - probably due to the current Hinckley C construction.
Retail and business parks can be found close to the town along with a selection of supermarkets.
Plenty of history in the area and a visit to the museum will highlight the local involvement in the Civil war.
There is a one way system through / around the centre of the town. Plenty of cafés and a Wetherspoons.

Bridgwater isn't the prettiest of towns.
Bridgwater isn't the prettiest of towns. It's quite industrial with lots of different units around. We only actually stopped there on one occasion for a brief while to get some lunch. We did find a suitable pub which was OK but nothing special. I was expecting more oldie worldy.

My son lives there so we went out and about by car, Bridgwater itself is run down and in need of some investment and tlc, not much to do in the way of eating out you would need to travel out a bit to take advantage of the country pubs and carveries, one bit od advice give the KFC in Bridgwater a big miss it’s dirty, seems more concerned with delivery orders than actual walk in customers, we went in on Sunday evening around 8.15, it was empty and we struggled to find a clean table to use

I live in the North West of England and this town was very similiar. Compact shopping centre with a mix of the usual retailers and plenty of local traders.
If you like pub life, you will be well catered for.

A really interesting town, full of beautiful buildings.
A really interesting town, full of beautiful buildings. Check out Castle House, the first reinforced concrete building in the world-1851. Also a visit to the Drake Museum. What a gem of a place, with really friendly staff. If you have time a walk along the canal, or the river.
The meals were excellent, both dinner and breakfast. High quality and delicious and no more expensive than other places where the quality of food isn’t anywhere near as good. The staff were all very friendly and went over and above to make sure we were well looked after. When we arrived the lady at reception carried my wife’s panniers to our room. This was very helpful and we’d never expect it. The hotel itself is very old and is a mass of unexpected passageways. Our room appeared to be recently refurbished. We enjoyed being there.
I broke down on a Sunday when the Euro finals were on, so I was stranded. The hotel staff were amazing at accomodating me to help me get breakdown recovery, find a garage to get my car towed to, they put me up for an extra night and I watched the football with all the staff. Not what I had planned but they made it memorable. Super friendly and offered me an extended check out time to deal with my car problems. Would definitely stay here again if I ever find myself in Bridgewater!
Not the best place I've stayed the shower was luke warm and couldn't change the temperature as that was taped up with insulation tape there were only 2 pillows on the bed and one bath towel and one hand towel between two people the staff didnt converse with you at all I would stay again but only because of the central location and bridgewater is a really good night out and this hotel is just cheap for getting your head down for a one nighter
The hotel was lovely and the staff were amazing. They made myself and pippa so welcome and couldn't do enough to make our trip so good. I have never stayed in a hotel on my own without my husband, and pippa has never stayed in a hotel, so we were quite nervous. It was a wonderful experience and the room was lovely. Oh my goodness, the shower was lush.
We always like to stay at this Hotel when visiting family and friends in the area. This was our fifth time. We always find the rooms to be very clean and well maintained. Good facilities in the main room and bathroom. Great shower with plenty of hot water. Nice and quiet which helps with good night sleep. Staff are always pleasant and eager to please.
Convenience, cleanliness and friendliness of front line staff. Surprisingly well sound-proofed despite being on a busy main road.
Tesco just opposite very handy.
Just a few minutes from the M5 and yet a local more personal hotel than say Holiday Inn Express etc.
Come here if you want to support a local business. You won’t be disappointed.
Large airy rooms - good size TV - nice shower - great pub downstairs - large free parking - great stopover hotel - but will deffo use again for touring the immediate area - staff extra helpful when I had a mobility problem on leaving the bar area at the end of the night - thanks again ❤️
I loved everything about this hotel except the internal decor as I prefer painted walls to the new urban distressed non painted bare concrete walls.
Don’t let that put you off though it’s just my personal taste and it’s a great place to stay!
The Hotel is located very close to the town center. There are enough food options around and they have a large car park just outside. The room I had was large and clean except for the carpet which could be vaccumed more.
Pleasant stay in independent hotel.Quiet(off road-as requested),comfy bedroom with tea/coffee making facilities..Food,freshly prepared, with good choices for both Dinner and Breakfast.Pleasant, helpful and amenable staff.
Small hotel.
Great place to stay and have a drink and a great meal.
Staff excellent and service fantastic.
Room we stayed in was very nice, lots of space.
Large shower/toilet room.
Would definitely stay here again.
Lovely location and the staff were very welcoming. We took our dog and the hotel is very dog friendly. Food was outstanding and the room was spotless and big. Highly recommended.
There wasnt a Breakfast this place is dreadful and is in no way a Hotel it is simply a bunch of Rooms making money for the Proprietor who cant even speak English awful place
Friendly owners and staff; superb room at front of property overlooking the church; great evening meal in the hotel restaurant and tasty English breakfast in the morning.
A nice little hotel with pleasant bedroom, clean, good ambience. Road very quiet at night. Nothing to dislike. Owner was friendly. very nice grounds and bar area.
