+ Seems like they have eventually sorted the WiFi out which helps as no mobile network inside
+ Staff are very friendly (Breakfast staff are actually amazing)
+ Comfy bed
+ Music from downstairs goes off exactly at 10:45 which is brilliant

Location is great, just on the back street in Castleton (near the chippy!) Space for 4 cars.
We were given clear instructions on how to enter the property with access codes, and our room was great (at the end of the corridor).
There is a kitchenette in the room, which comprises of kettle, toaster, microwave and fridge, with crockery, glasses and cutlery. We were also given some boxes of cereal and some milk in the fridge, very unexpected and a lovely gesture.
The bed was comfy, very peaceful rooms. The room was a little cold at first, but it warmed up over the weekend.
There was a Smart TV in the room, guess you could log in to your Netflix or Amazon accounts if you wanted, although we didn't.
Wifi worked great (thank goodness as there was no phone signal!)
We will stay again (if they'll have us!)

For a place of this size was not expecting a choice of breakfast so the variety was a very pleasant surprise. Nice and warm. Staff were really excellent and found me a room even though problems with the booking.com system lead to them being double booked.
Lovely little cottage. Be aware of steep steps upstairs.
Lovely little cottage. Be aware of steep steps upstairs. Couldn’t use log burner as log store locked up . There was no property information as is usually in holiday rentals.
The car park where you could use a free parking pass was full so had to pay, which is no fault of the property.

Excellent location to Mam Tor, Winnats Pass and surrounding walks. Village pretty and quaint with a few shops, tea rooms, restaurants and pubs to visit. Visitors center within the village. We stayed at the Castle, nice enough. Also ate there for dinner and food and service was good.
I'd say Castleton is a place you'd stay for 1-2 nights.

We love Castleton.
We love Castleton. It is such a great place for walking, from a short walk along the river to Hope, to 3-4 hour walks to Mam Tor or Loose Hill (this includes returning to Castleton). And there are some cozy fireside pubs right in the centre of the village with good food. We have stayed overnight at 3 pubs (Ye Olde Nags Head, The Castle and The Cheshire Cheese) and its just great. A few gift shops, but no supermarkets .... which means we are not tempted to do the shopping while we are away! To be honest I don't know where the nearest supermarket is. Have fun in Castleton!

Wonderful place, have stayed many times , plenty of walks for all abilities, the caverns are well worth a visit, and Peak cavern is a brilliant venue to see live bands and films, all the pubs are warm, welcoming and all the meals we have had were good value and excellent, never mind the real ales, well worth a holiday.

Castleton is a lovely village with lots of things to do and see. You have to like hiking and hills especially. There are numerous pubs all offering similar ware and all having a warm ambiance that makes you feel welcome.
The village is full of history and is truly the gateway to a lot of hiking routes, mines, and just general nice English things you can and should do

A lovely little place!
A lovely little place!
If you like waking or friendly pubs a great location!
We went on a Friday and lots of the shops closed, not sure why?
Only small not much about to ‘wander’ but a couple of tea rooms
You can easily do a lovely loop of Castletown in under an hour.,
I love staying at YHAs in general, but they are all different: Castleton Losehill is special it is a beautiful property perfectly located in the Dark Peak- for me it's a great stopping point halfway between work and home. But more than that the villages around have tons of lovely pubs, shops, and history as well as being in a beautiful part of the world where you can go for walks long or short. YHAs are no frills but for 30 pounds to have your own room, have it be quiet and free wifi- you can't really complain.
I loved the decor and design - Newly refurbished yet with a traditional
twist. Huge free car park, with hotel
right in the centre of the town, provided great access to caves, walks, coffee shops, and other central attractions. The manager was very friendly and professional too. Great that there was a fridge in the room to keep the milk for breakfast
The George is a lovely traditional pub in an excellent location for exploring Castleton and the Peak District. The staff in particular were excellent, very friendly and helpful. We stayed in for dinner one night which was delicious, and had a generous breakfast included each morning. If we were in the same area we wouldn’t hesitate to visit again.
Nice friendly staff, excellent breakfast and the addition of a new bar for Castleton carried out in a tasteful way, we like the fact that the traditional old reception room/guest room has stayed the same. Best of luck with the new Swiss Tap and I think it will thrive as it has fair prices {for Castleton} and a good range of beers on tap.
Lovely spacious room, big comfortable bed. Spacious bathroom, lots of hot water and a great bath. Nicely decorated. Staff were very welcoming and helpful. Very private and quiet in the lodges. Great location right in the middle of Castleton. My partner and I enjoyed our stay and would stay again and would definitely recommend.
We thoroughly enjoyed the overall ambiance of this guesthouse. The pub, restaurant, and rooms collectively contributed to a highly enjoyable stay. The hotel's location is superb, right in the center of the lovely village of Castleton surrounded by a breathtaking scenery.
The property was modern, extremely clean and was in a great location to Castleton. The size of the room was really spacious and the views of the mountains were fantastic. We really loved our stay at Cheshire Mews and would definitely book to go there again.
They were so friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was delicious. Everyone was so helpful and informative. The b and b and the surrounding area is stunning and he room was well beautiful, had a stunning view, very clean and well equipt.
The Peak Hotel is in the centre of Castleton.
Our room was spacious and the bed comfy. The bathroom was an excellent size with walk in shower. Had a great view of Peveril Castle.
It was modern, well presented and had everything we needed from cutlery, pots n pans etc etc. Great location literally 5 minutes each way to Castleton or Lose Hill.
Such a cosy place to stay, comfy bed, great shower, had all facilities needed. For us, the location was great as we were competing in a running event in Castleton.
Breakfast was superb...the best in Castleton!
Check in was perfect. Our room was clean, warm and cosy. Staff were really friendly and helpful especially Rebecca.
