The Jack and Jill Coaching Inn, hotel in Saltburn-by-the-Sea

Everything was exceptional. The food was amazing! We had a Sunday Roast when we arrived which was delicious and a great portion. The individual gravy boats were a massive hit as we all love gravy. We had breakfast included in our stay and it's definitely a great breakfast. You can tell everything is made with top ingredients and a good variety on offer. The staff.. wow! The service at breakfast in particular was amazing. We were constantly asked if we wanted anything else, any additional drinks etc. All the staff were polite and just super friendly. The rooms were beautiful. Loved the decor and super clean. Our toddler decided his favourite thing to do was put his shoe in the bin in the bedroom. Although we kept taking it out we didn't realize he did it again and the bins were emptied. We explained to the staff before we left AND THEY CHECKED THE BINS FOR US! We have been reunited with his shoe. I am so thankful for them even offering to check the bins, luckily it was the first one they checked. If that doesn't say enough about the staff and the service I don't know what will. There was a lovely outdoor play area which our son loved. A little mini golf which he walked through but didn't play and it's opposite a reservoir to it's a beautiful location. If we are ever up that way again I will not hesitate to make a return visit.

The room exceeded my expectations. Very clean and smartly decorated. Large and very clean bathroom. There was a microwave on the landing to heat up my dinner (which was unexpected). Plenty of free parking. It's out on a limb, but only a short drive from Guisborough, which has all you need.

An excellent beach with lots of sand and a pier. The funicular railway from the beach to the top was not working owing to a fire. There are good walks from the sea up the valley which is served by a miniature railway from Easter.

The Lodge was very Comfortable and Clean, kitchen fully Equipped, Beds very Comfortable. The only Disappointment is that the Wi-Fi was not working. The outside appearance of the lodge itself does not do it Justice. It’s located in a very peaceful area of which is Great. Christine the owner is lovely and Helpful. Will Definitely return.

I lived in this town for about two years and have friends and a relative there so I am not a typical tourist. However, it is a nice calm and pleasant place. There is a large modern supermarket and also a very interesting antique shop. I recommend both of them. The view from the high point is stunning. The Spa Hotel and the Marine Pub are really good places to eat; the staff in each friendly and the atmosphere very welcoming. There is also another good restaurant, Alessi's, which is in the center of town. There is good bus and train service to Saltburn. This town is great for just a relaxing weekend rest.

Everyone should visit Saltburn by the sea at least once in their lifetime! Virgo's Bistro was particularly good. But many other places in town also good. Everyone is helpful and friendly. I met new friends. Getting around Saltburn I think is easy. The Parade is glorious. The seas are wonderful and getting down to the beach, by the famous tram makes it very easy and also lots of other areas along the front make it easy too. Wonderful fish and chip restaurant! Also enjoyed the Farmer's Market. The local shops are good and interesting again with lovely friendly people. Bus and train service fabulous. So easy to visit surrounding areas. Thank you Saltburn by the Sea...I will be back soon!

Our favourite place was the ride on the Funicular tramway from the upper promenade to the lower one. We were surprised by the amenities available of the lower prom. Lovely gardens and plenty of seating. Lovely beaches. The roads are laid out in a grid with roads sloping upwards from the prom to the town. Comfortable shoes recommended. We had two great meals at the Alessi's Italian restaurant and Jadoo Indian restaurant. We will definitely be visiting again.

Very spacious clean light airy room at the side of hotel with sea view ( superior double), very comfortable bed with powerful shower and looks to be recently decorated. Excellent large full English breakfast in spacious dining room but lovely to see all tables had fresh tulips on even though the hotel was quiet ( Monday night). Currently having a new Conservatory built at the front overlooking the sea which I'm sure will be a further asset. If not fully mobile be aware that its a short but steep walk down to the seafront.

A very spacious property with a very comfortable large bed. The heating worked well. Yes there is a sea view and the property is very well located. The TV was very good - great to be able to pause and record! The coffee machine is a Nespresso so coffee was good (new pods available at the Sainsbury's nearby). The Marine Hotel looks uninspiring from the outside but served excellent beer and food (although they were clearing away menus before 7pm so get in early).

Lovely apartment with a boutique hotel feel, comfortable beds and everything we needed for a great little seaside break. I loved watching the sea from the lounge windows. The apartment is in a great location, a short walk from the top of the cliff railway and just a couple of minutes from a good selection of coffee shops and restaurants. It doesn't take long to walk down the hill to the beach, or you can take the cliff railway down.

The furnishing of the hotel were lovely. Most of the staff were friendly and helpful. Easy assess to the lovely park in Saltburn-on-sea which led down to the great beach. Good snack bars and surf equipment school/shop along the front. Saltburn-on-sea is a lovely place to stay with friendly, helpful staff in the pubs and shops. Great meal and lovely pub: the Ship which also looks out at the sea.

Room was exceptional for the price, cooked breakfast was without a word of a lie the best I’ve had in a hotel and I’ve been in many hotels, staff very kind and knowledgable about horse racing, especially the breakfast waiter. The bar stocked my favourite ale, Newky Brown. I had a room with a sea view. Would I go back again ? You bet I would and intend to.

Had a lovely one night stay at the Spa Hotel, as a stopping point while walking the Cleveland Way. The location is great - right along the walking path, and an easy walk into the center of Saltburn-by-the-Sea. We had lovely views of the coast from our room. We ate at the hotel restaurant and the Sunday roast was excellent.

The apartment was very comfortable and well equipped. The kitchen had everything we needed and it is spacious enough for two people. Loftus had all we needed right out of the front door - Co-op , pubs, takeaway etc and it is on a direct bus route to Whitby and Saltburn-By-The-Sea We had an excellent stay. Thank you.

A much better alternative to a hotel for a 2 night stay. We were in Swann Sanctuary. Spotlessly clean, well appointed, and in a fabulous location. We had no trouble finding a space on the free on-street parking. Would definitely choose to stay here again.
