Takes a couple of days to get used to Iceland and Reykjavík because its so different but then you start to appreciate its beauty and the vibe down town Raykjavik. Very ‘chilled out’ and an excellent place to walk around and eat and drink. Plenty of attractions to visit. You just need to remember that its not a cheap place to go. Expect to pay over £10 for a pint of beer or glass of wine. ( if you are reading this from London, you might think this is not expensive ! ) Having said that, we would love to visit again. The people are lovely and most speak good English.

Mixed behavior with people.
Mixed behavior with people. I dealt with a lot of happy locals and a lot of grumpy locals. We went to so the golden circle trip and we visited a mini mart close to a fuelling station to look for a car charger. The staff threw the cable literally on the counter. Very rude.
Staff at the Hard Rock Cafe were all fantastic. Hressó staff are great as well. Never had any bad experiences with them.

Reykjavik is a charming city with lots of cute shops and restaurants. It was also an easy, walkable city so you could access most everything you want to see or do in the city from the apartment. The only downside was the high cost of everything,

Beautiful city.
Beautiful city. So clean and actually surprisingly quiet for a city. Never heard a siren once in our whole week there. Plenty to see and do. Loads of places to eat drink and shop. Great public pools. Plenty of bus stops so no need to be getting taxi.

Great little city, stayed for 2 nights and felt that was a good length of time as we did self drive and had done a lot of the tours already offered. Time to visit a couple of museums and do a food tour which I highly recommend.
Great pub culture, delicious food and drinks. Such a pretty colourful place so if you get blue skies rhe views are amazing.
Being from England, I didn't find Iceland that expensive as everyone says it is, only slightly more money that what I'm used to, but the food and drink quality is much higher, take time to research places and look around.
Cold though!!!
We had a double room with a view of the church, it was very spacious, warm and clean. The location was the best part, it was a few minutes walk to the main streets and sea front. Free street parking was great. The staff at IG really made it feel homely and were always there to greet and give recommendations, Alberto especially was extremely friendly and made it feel like staying with a friend! We've stayed at many hotels in Reykjavik before and this humble guesthouse was actually our favourite place to stay, we would definitely return!
I loved this hotels location, walked to the center downtown within 5 mins. I ended up with a corner room on 7th floor, so was able to look out over the Harpa Concert Center and the bay, it was beautiful. The bed was probably the best one on my week long trip and was finally able to have a good nights rest. The ladies at the front desk were awesome and so friendly. The Sky Bar and Restaurant on the top floor had an amazing view, the breakfast was included in my room rental and omg well worth it!!
It is perfect if you're looking just for a place to stay for the night to begin or to finish you journey in Iceland. I stayed both in the beginning and the end of my trip and both time were perfect. It serves its purpose of resting. If you don't have a rental car, I do not recommend you stay in this hotel because it is a bit far from Reykjavik center. Also if you are using Reykjavik as a starting point for your tours and plan on staying there, I also do not recommend for the same reason.
Perfect location for exploring downtown Reykjavik without feeling smothered by tourist-geared shops and restaurants. Right across from Hallgrimskirkja, everything is within a twenty minute walk. The hotel itself is quiet, clean, and comfortable. The lobby offers 24-hour concierge service which is extremely helpful with activity and meal suggestions as well as with transportation and business needs. There is also a complimentary coffee/latte/mocha etc. machine in the lobby.
One of the cheap nice hotels I found in Reykjavik for thanks to booking.com. Very clean rooms. The hotel has really friendly staff. They were able to provide for my requests of cutlery dead of the night.
The location is also great! bus stops are near by. hotel also provides a pick up service from the airport for an economic fee.
Breakfast was also pretty decent. Not many vegetarian options but with bread and salad veggies, it’s also easy to set a sandwich. :)
Excellent location right in the middle of town and walkable to everything. Nice staff and our favorite hotel during our trip to Iceland. The best breakfast of our entire trip ( both beautiful presentation of food and great quality and flavors). Very comfortable bed and a lovely lobby. We really enjoyed our stay here and will definitely choose this same hotel next time we come to Reykjavik!
Beautiful little hotel in downtown Reykjavik! We loved our stay. Very comfortable and warm. A short 5 minute walk to the nearest bus stop for tour pickups (seeing as they can't do direct hotel pickup as it is in an exclusion city centre zone). Thanks to the staff for their friendly service and for allowing us to store our suitcase for our return after a 2-night tour.
I got a very good deal in comparison to the prices in Iceland , around half less. The room was comfterble and the location is great as it is in front of the main city center street and also a supermarket, it is in front of bus station 9 that take to airport. The staff in the reception were very nice and helpful , it was a good decision to choose this hotel.
Very nice and clean room. Contactless check-in went well and was easy. Comfortable bed and bathroom. The floor in the bathroom was heated and there was a heated towel rack, which was nice. WiFi was extremely fast (150+ mbps) and downtown is just a short walk away. We loved our stay and highly recommend this place to stay on your visit to Reykjavik.
Convenient place to stay for a night before or after a flight. Still 40 minutes from the airport but cheaper than most airport hotels. Superior room was a decent size and a little worn in places but it suited us for a 1 night stopover. Room and bathroom was clean. Breakfast was okay. Pretty basic but that is common in most places in Iceland.
The room was facing the Old Harbour and situated near some fabulous restaurants, as well as a short walk away from the center of Reykjavik. We had a great stay here - the hotel is very quirky and we appreciated the library and living spaces downstairs. It was easy to take the bus to and from the airport as well as to the Blue Lagoon.
We needed a place to stay last minute when our final night’s stay location closed unexpectedly. Downtown Reykjavik Apartments had just what we needed. Great location and a fair price for such short notice. Right in the heart of downtown, abs very walkable. The neighborhood was great with so many things just a few blocks away.
it’s a good place to stay, good price, nice staff. it’s not downtown, so if you rent a car while staying in Reykjavík, you will have no trouble going around the city. otherwise will you have to pay taxi to go out and that’s pretty expensive, do yourself a favor a rent a car it’s the best way to explore Iceland!
The property is in a brilliant location. All of downtown Reykjavik is within an easy stroll. The apartment we had was clean and well equipped, with very effective underfloor heating. The hotel restaurant was lovely and the bar opposite was lively and fun. All in all a great place to stay.
Fosshotel Lind was a great place to stay in Reykjavik. Its location was convenient enough to walk downtown, without being too close to the nightlife. The staff were polite and friendly, and happy to answer any questions we had. The breakfast was one of the best we have had in years!
It is in the downtown, I liked the kitchen and the restaurant downstairs, also the Reservation Manager understood that we were very tired due to long travel, so allowed early check in that I liked very much, it is also cheaper than another hotels
CenterHotel Plaza had an excellent location right in downtown Reykjavik, close to Bus Stop 1 where a lot of tours and the airport FlyBus depart from. Rooms are sufficient and clean, brightly lit and right on top of a lively square.
The location of Reykjavík Downtown Hotel is very good. The property is close to everything! We also liked the fact that the hotel gave us the door code so we could come and go as we pleased.
