Ribe felt very safe to walk in day or night. Friendly people, take your dog on leash everywhere and in most cafes, hotels, nice food, grassy areas to walk and explore, clothes shopping and the oldest town in Denmark was extremely well maintained and very clean.

It's a beautiful city with very attractive houses and other buildings. Just walking around in the city is a nice experience. The city has cheap shopping opportunities and restaurants. Since it is one of the oldest cities in Denmark, I will recommend it to those who love old architecture and fairy tale cities. For me, it's a personal favourite in Denmark due to its history and the fact that it is so well kept. However, it is a small city which you can explore in a single day too.

Beautiful little town, not to far from the sea.
Beautiful little town, not to far from the sea. The cobbled streets with old buildings and the almost car free streets were a pleasure to stroll around. by the way, all cobbled streets have separate tracks for wheelchairs/rollators/prams in smooth granite. The 3 big parking lots on walking distance from the centre were all free, but don't forget your parking disk or stay more than 4 hours, you will get a KR 500,- fine.
Shops close at 17h30 and after that the town was almost without people beside the few in the restaurants that were open. Corona aftermath?!?
It was nice to visit the casual car show on Tuesdays ( opposite the harbour.)
The Viking village looked a bit dilapidated, but I guess a lot was because of the irregular opening times during Corona. We visited end of August.
Old and new Ribe are well separated, so no modern architecture within the old town centre, to the north of Ribe you will find the new industrial area, shopping mall, garages, a huge bicycle shop, etc.

Ribe it's the most beautiful town I've been to in Denmark. Nice museums, nice restaurants, nice beer. The church is beautiful and all the houses are well preserved, it's so nice just to walk around. Make sure to try the local beer!

Tourists are not well regarded there, citizens show no tact with other cultures visiting their place, so they should limit entry into the city;
We would spend our money in a nicer places; where people like to receive visitors;

Ribe is a beautiful old town with many old perhaps even original buildings. The beautiful walking street has the usual assortment of shops many offering the owner's own products. The Chocolate Gelato store is one such enterprise where the Italian owner makes his own Gelato. The Dagmar Hotel has great meals served inside (for dinner) or patio for lunch.
Cobble stone streets everywhere even along the river. The Domkirke (Cathedral) is also a must see, especially the bell tower. It take 245 steps to the top to see the tower construction, clock works and at the top a wonderful view of the city. Warning the climb does require physical dexterity with some rather steep sections.
Beautiful well appointed resort just outside of Ribe. The town is within walking distance through a beautiful cemetery. Our apartment was nice and clean with a balcony. We did not realize that you had to preorder bed linens and we arrived after the office closed. We were able to get all we needed the next day from the office. The resort rents out bikes and canoes and we had so much fun biking around the area including the Viking Center and padding down the water canals.
This was a perfect get-away in the midst of the pandemic. We were looking for a quite retreat where our young children could feel free to roam outside. Our children (ages 6 and 8) absolutely loved the farm animals and the hosts were so gracious to them. I enjoyed morning runs around the farm tracts. We made two side trips to Ribe and Esbjerg -- very easy drives. Thank you for a fantastic stay.
Right in the centre of old Ribe. We did not have a car so it was easy to walk from the train station and to walk around the sites of Ribe.The host communicated very well and even phoned me to check if I had made a mistake (which I had) because I had booked the date a year ahead! Access to a kitchen with a microwave and kettle.
The room was nice, very clean, spacious and super quiet at night.
The breakfast was good - self-service, but worked well - convenient that both breakfast table and shelf in the fridge were allocated to our specific room number.
The location was in walking distance of everything you need to see and experience in Ribe.
Hotel Dagmar is both elegant and charming. My room was elegant, charming, and comfortable. Although centuries old, it is very well maintained. The food was excellent, including the complimentary breakfast. There are framed pictures everywhere, like in a museum. It was a thoroughly enjoyable experience.
The location was amazing, a beautiful spot right on the water! It was a quick drive over to Ribe and down to the Wadden Sea Center, so it’s a great base for exploring the area. All of the staff were lovely. We had breakfast both mornings and dinner one evening and all of the food was delicious.
Ribe is a fairy tale spot with beautiful streets, buildings, streams and flowers. The staff at Saelhunden were so friendly and helpful. The supper and breakfast we enjoyed in their restaurant was exceptional and our room was quaint and clean. A highlight of our trip!
A perfect place to stay in the Ribe area. A walk in the Wadden Sea during the low tide - priceless. A nice restaurant on the spot offering specialities of the Danish cuisine. Try the local Danish wine from the Ribe area - you will be surprised, as were we. :-)
Modern cabin with full kitchen. Very clean and quiet. A/C which is rare to find here. Within walking distance to Ribe old town area. We rented bikes from Danhostel and that saved us some travel time. I would not hesitate to recommend this property.
Pleasant location in a park with lakes at the limit of Ribe city,
and close to the wonderful viking center.
The bedroom is equipped with kitchenette alowing to prepare breakfast and diner.
The car can be parked in front of the room.
Excellent location in middle of historic town of Ribe, the appartment was cosy containing everything you need and Betty was a sweet and attentive host. Will definitely come back when next in the area.
it felt like being in a home instead of a hotel. Since my grandmother lived in Ribe until she was 17, I wanted to stay on a residential street. The home was clean, bright, comfortable.
Charming historic hotel in a great location with very friendly and helpful staff. Super breakfast sorry we did not get a chance to eat in the restaurant for lunch or dinner
