The weather was shitty the weekend (36 hours) we were there but that din't take away from the awesomness of the mosque/cathedral. That alone would have been worth the trip.
Also great the Palace of Viana.
LIke most of Spain Cordoba needs a bit of sun to truely shine, but it is a place I would go back to.

We enjoyed the Roman Bridge, the Mosque-Cathedral (and bell tower), the Alcazar, and the Equestrian Show at the Royal Stables. We thought these activities were good value for money, especially the Alcazar with its beautiful gardens. We really enjoyed wandering through the narrow streets etc… Overall, Cordoba exceeded our expectations.

There is so much to see here!
There is so much to see here! We had planned for four days, but hope to return to see what we missed this time. The mezquita/cathedral is an obvious 'must' and deserves more than one visit; the museo bellas artes is well worth the visit, as is the synagogue, numerous churches, and the Roman bridge and environs. If you go to Cordoba you must visit the Archaeological Museum - it is not large, but has a wonderfully curated collection to give you an idea of Cordoba's history, and is on the site of a Roman theatre! The Viana Palace was an extraordinary experience: the patio gardens are so much more than you would expect; the palace can be seen only on a guided tour and we have no Spanish, but it was worth it just to see the rooms.
On a future visit to Cordoba I would hope to see the Tower, the excavations outside the town (bus available) and the flower festival in May.
The food was an education: there were so many things I had not tasted before, and have now compiled a Cordoba recipe book to use at home. In particular I would recommend the fried aubergines with honey.
To conclude, I think what we loved the best - in spite of the annual rainfall of Spain falling in the four days we were there! - was pottering around the old city, getting a feel of the place: there are so many statues and information points to supply the historic background.

Cordoba is an elegant city with character and well presented. The Mesquita is a must see especially with a tour to gain the most historical background. Winding, charming streets near Mesquita have many shops, restaurants and bars. 2 nights was just enough.

I loved my stay in Cordoba and could have stayed a few days longer. If I had ten days to plan again I would spend five days in Seville and five in Cordoba with a one day trip to Granada. Cordoba is a stylish city.

We stayed 3 nights 2 full days so had lots of time to explore, arrived at 1 pm so had the first afternoon to explore if time is a bit tight 2 nights and 1 full day would be fine in Cordoba . We did the full 4 hour tour of the Alcazar, Jewish quarters and mosque. The mosque was very cool to see. For me I would have been just as happy to see the mosque, read up on it and do your own tour. The Alcazar was just ok, nothing special and you can explore the Jewish quarters on your own.
We stayed for two nights visiting Cordoba. We received a warm, friendly and helpful welcome. The hotel is located about 15 minutes from the centre in a quiet suburb. A taxi to the centre costs around EUR10. It's a fairly large hotel in a park setting, lots of grass and trees. We were upgraded to a Junior Suite which was very spacious and comfortable. There are function rooms and conference facilities. Our dog was welcome, which is not always the case in Spain. We had a meal in the restaurant, which was good but the menus was limited.
The 5/5 stars on google and the 9.9/10 ratings on booking.com are definitely well deserved! We liked the unique interior design a lot. The entrance was welcoming and cutely organised. The receptionist took her time to sit down with us and introduce to us the attractions, food choices and secret tip of Córdoba. Our car was taken care of by the staff, which was all in all very helpful. We felt like at home and the familiar staff members fulfilled all our wishes and more. We‘ll definitely visit Cordoba and Hotel Suite Generis again!
Truly amazing place in the best possible location in the centre of Cordoba. The hotel reminds of the riads in Marrakesh, with a bright inviting patio and the apartments around. The roof terrace is a treat. Our apartment (Zafra) was very spacious, including the airy large bathroom. Very clean and modern on the inside. We would gladly stay longer and were sorry to leave so soon. You could easily spend a day in the hotel only, enjoying the street buzz from the windows, the sun on the roof or a quiet hour with a book in the patio.
Location was amazing, right in the center of jewish quarter and close to very nice streets and cute stores and restaurants. Also close to all the attractions, hotel is literally in front of the mezqita. Entrance was free from 8.30 to 9.30 so location was very convenient. Staff was helpful, they helped is with parking and gave recommendations about restaurants and things to do in Cordoba. Breakfast was okay, open bouffe had variety.
The hotel is a short walk from the bus station which was good as we had luggages . The staff were very kind and professional. Since we checked in late, our preferred bed size was not available anymore but they gave us free breakfast for 4 people to compensate us which is highly aooreciated. Breakfast was good and plentiful. The hotel is a business hotel but we felt that we were staying in a luxury hotel.
The staff are extraordinary. When I was sick, they arranged for me to get excellent medical support and organised communication and transport with no fuss. Day to day service is excellent as well. The team is friendly and super professional. Hotel Madinat will book you into a session at a hammam in close walking distance. This place is beautiful, historic and serene. Don't miss it, choose a quiet time.
Amazing breakfast. Great pool area with slippers and towels provided. Amazing location in main central square. Great rooftop bar with views over main square. Staff were super attentive and offered complimentary Cava at check in. The room was bright and airy with a view over the square. Huge bathroom had a hydromassage tub and a large wet room. Best stay during our tour of Spain
Comfortable hotel with all you would expect from a 5 star. Location is good too. The Alcazar is just across the road and the Mezquita 10 minutes walk. Plenty of bars and restaurants close by and the Mercado Victoria is 2 minutes away. The hotel bar was good too and the breakfast spread was excellent and we will definitely revisit on our next trip.
The hotel is close to both the station and city centre, very near a pleasant park, and over the road from the Cordoba University. The bathroom is particularly well equipped with various products. Breakfast was good. In warmer weather the rooftop pool, although quite small, would be a real attraction!
One of the best hotels I've stayed in for quite some time. Javier met us when we arrived and gave us a full tour of this incredible place. Rooms, common areas, outdoor patio and beautiful neighborhood were all better than expected. I love Cordoba and recommend La Ermita to all travelers.
A beautiful hotel located in the city centre (spectacular historical building) with spacious and luxurious rooms, a swimming pool and great terrace and bar upstairs. The hotel staff was really friendly and accommodated all of our requests. The best location for a stay in Cordoba.
Great staff very friendly and helpful, a little far from the central town, definitely need a car to get back into the city. Older hotel great value for money, we needed for 1 night to visit the sights. Restaurant on premises was the best meal we’ve had in Spain.
We visited several cities/towns on our Spain vacation (Madrid, Cordoba, Seville, Malaga, Granada). This was, hands down, our favorite hotel. The room was large, with loads of daylight. It was located within walking distance of all the sites. Fantastic!
Located in close enough to be in just a couple minutes at any significant point of interest in Cordoba but in the same time in a quiet area. Hotel has a parking lot which is very important if you travel by car. Staff was very helpful and friendly.
This is the best hotel in Cordoba and also in Spain, it was built in the Middle Ages. Everything from the furniture and the hotel is antique
The staff is very kind and helpful
