What a beautiful place to have a time out in.

What a beautiful place to have a time out in. They have everything from beaches to golfing and shopping there's even a huge thrift store there . Lots of places to explore . It's just an amazing little place to go , and being that your on an island you immediately feel disconnected from the hustle and bustle of everyday . We are definitely going back .

Gabriola is a small island, The drive around is beautiful. The sunshine through the trees make it look so picturesque. They have everything you need. Great coffee shop Mad Rona’s, places to eat, It’s quiet and very clean. The market we went to was nice with live music and 2 food trucks. It’s easy to get around. We would definitely go back.

We loved our time on Gabriola.

We loved our time on Gabriola. The Malaspina Galleries are a must-see, and we also especially liked Drumbeg Park and Sandwell Park. Walks along the beach and in the forest feed our souls, and Gabriola more than fit the bill in that regard.

Gabriola is a very scenic Island.

Gabriola is a very scenic Island. The Surf Lodge location was great but the cabin we were in needs some repairs. We toured the Island on bikes the first day and then drove to some of the parks the second day. We especially liked the Island vibe, very friendly. Our favorite spot was Descanso Bay Park which had great walking trails. Their is a cafe called Mad Rona's in the Folklife Village that makes amazing sandwiches and coffee. Obviously a favorite of the locals.

Beautiful island only twenty minutes by regular ferry from Nanaimo. Incredible sandstone formations, walking trails through trees next to the ocean, fun markets on Saturday and Sunday featuring local artists. Enjoyed our visit enormously and will definitely be going back.

We were here for a family wedding. So besides walking and an occasional visit to Robert’s for lunch or dinner we spent time with family. We found everyone friendly, helpful and it was easy to get around.
